The Rose -- for Crafty Sentiments

It's Thursday, and I get to post for Crafty Sentiments Inspirations blog today.  I have a sweet card, using Crafty Sentiments Designs rubber stamp, "Roses are Red."
I colored the "Roses are Red" image with Copic markers. I like to back my images in dark colors so they really pop. Papers and Flair button for this card are from Close To My Heart. The enamel hearts are from My Mind's Eye.  The crinkle ribbon is 3 Girl JAM
Doesn't this make you think of Spring?  We had a few days of warmth, but now we're back to winter again.  But, Spring is coming!

Paper Hugs -- for Crafty Sentiments

It's Friday, and I have a tutorial today for Crafty Sentiments Inspirations Blog, where I'm on my 6-month guest designer stint.  Whoop! Whoop!  I have a step-by-step tutorial for an accordion card today.
Here's the finished card:

I used Crafty Sentiments rubber stamp, "Bundle of Hearts", featuring Benson Bear on this accordion card.
Here's how I created it (all measurements are standard, not metric):
Start with a piece of 5 1/2 x 11 inch card stock.  Score it at 1 1/2 inches, 3 inches, 5 1/2 inches, and 8 inches.

Choose your papers.  Cut them at 5 1/4 x 1 3/8 inches, 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches, and 5 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches, and 5 1/4 x 2 3/4 inches.
Adhere in place.
Using a bone folder, score at the score lines made in the previous step.

Color your image, (I used Copic markers) and fussy cut around the circle.
Then, simply attach the circle to the front panel of the accordion card, using tape on only 1/2 the image.
The last step is the Belly Band.  You need a piece of card stock that is 7 inches by 1 1/2 inches.  Score it at 1 1/2 & 4 1/2 inches. You can leave it like this or stamp a sentiment.  I chose to decorate mine a bit by using an edger punch on it, and stamping a sentiment.
Here's the finished card one more time:

Papers on this card are from Close To My Heart.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and give it a try -- it's tons of fun!

Enjoy! for Crafty Sentiments

Happy Saturday, everyone! I'm so happy it's the weekend!  I'm posting today for the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations Blog, where I'm guest designing for the next 6 months. It's been very cold where I live, so I'm craving spring.  Coloring this card brought a bit of spring into my craft room...
This Crafty Sentiments image is called "Tulips".  I colored it with Copic markers. I almost always choose my papers before I color.  These are My Mind's Eye Nostalgia.
This card is an A2 size card.  I used Kraft card stock for the base. I used burlap ribbon to give the card a more masculine feel.  It is from Close To My Heart.  The bling is from my stash. I used a Spellbinder label die to cut out the image.
Check out the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations Blog each day. This team has tons of great ideas, tutorials, and beauty for you.

Warm Wishes -- for Crafty Sentiments

It's Wednesday, and I'm posting today for Crafty Sentiments Inspirations Blog.  It's still very much winter here in NW Wisconsin, so this cute image appealed to me very much!
I made this card using a variety of sizes of circle dies, and one fancy circle die for the largest size.
I colored "Sammy - Thank You" with Copic markers.  I generally pick my papers first (these are Snowhaven Papers from Close To My Heart). The sentiment is from Newton's Nook.  The crinkle ribbon is by 3 Girl JAM.
Get out your circle dies and create your own shaped card!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

You and Me -- a Tutorial for Crafty Sentiments

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I have a tutorial for you all today.  I'm guest designing for the next 6 months (yes, SIX!) for the Crafty Sentiments Inspirational Blog. This is my first post, and my first tutorial.  I'm showing you how to take ordinary white ribbon and make it extraordinary!

But first, your image.  I loved this Crafty Sentiments rubber stamp  from the 2014 Romance Collection called "You've Got Heart."
Here's the stamped, uncolored image

I generally color my images with the papers that I want to use in front of me, like this. I colored this image with Copic Markers. These papers are from Close To My Heart.

That way, I know everything will match when I'm finished.
Now, for the ribbon fun.
Cut a piece of white ribbon.  I used 1/4 inch May Arts silk, but any white ribbon will work. My ribbon is about 14 inches long.  Then, pick out inks that match your papers.  You can see, I'm using 3 shades of Tim Holtz Distress Ink here, but other inks work also.  I've got sponge daubers, but I've used makeup sponges, too.

Now, for the fun.  Dab ink on the ribbon, covering it completely, alternating colors about every inch or so. Here's the ribbon, partly done.

Once your ribbon is done, it's time to assemble your card.  I used a couple of dies from Lawn Fawn on this, but a paper trimmer would achieve the same effect.
Here's all my supplies, including the sentiment -- cut out from the edge of a 12x12 piece of paper.

And, once again, the finished card.  Notice the inked ribbon running length-wise, and tied in a bow.  Isn't it a neat affect?

Now, wasn't that easy?  OK, get going!  And, once you get your own pretty ribbon made, don't forget to enter it in the Crafty Sentiments Challenge. Make the Crafty Sentiments Inspirational Blog a part of your regular routine.  There's tons of great inspiration there! Don't forget the Crafty Sentiments Facebook Page for even more fun and inspiration.

The Light of Christmas -- for Inspiration Destination

It's Wednesday, and time for a new challenge at Inspiration Destination Challenge Blog (IDCB).  As always, it's anything goes.  One of our sponsors this week is Crafty Sentiments.  I had fun with this one!

This Crafty Sentiments Designs digi is called Harriet with Lantern. I colored her with Copic markers.  The sentiment was computer generated.  I used a Spellbinders die to cut the image out.  The designer papers are from Close To My Heart. They are from the Yuletide Carol paper pack.  The glitter trim and glitter domes are also from CTMH. I used a We R Memory Keepers scallop Corner Chomper on several of the corners.
I hope you join us this week at IDCB.  Link up anything!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Do You Know What Day It Is? It's Hump Day! and a New Challenge At Whimsical Designs!

I giggle every time I see that commercial with the camel walking around the office asking, "do you know what day it is?"  Yes, it's hump day!  And that means the fantastic DT at Whimsical Designs has more inspiration and a new challenge for you. This week's challenge is sponsored by Crafty Sentiments

The challenge? To create a clean and simple card.  The winner will get three digi images of their choice.  Easy peasy, right?

Crafty Sentiments was kind enough to give design team members some images to work with.  I chose this sweet girl and her puppy for my CAS card:

I colored the digi stamp with Copic markers, using these colors.

plus these two that didn't fit in my cup!

I used the Whimsical Designs Whimsical Fun - Vol. 1 Stamp set, found here!

The papers I used are Carta Bella True Friends 6x6 pad. The base is Close To My Heart blush cardstock.  The twine is Timeless Twine. I made the word bubble with a stamp by Lawn Fawn. I also added a little Creative Inspirations Fairy Dust paint to her dress to make it shimmer.  That's easier to see IRL.
Don't forget to visit the rest of the design team's blogs for some really great inspiration, then link up your CAS card. It'll be as much fun as the hump day commercial I enjoy so much!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Sister Act Card Challenge -- Anything Goes
MarkerPop Challenge -- Anything Goes
Oozak Challenge -- Anything Goes with a Girlie Theme

It's Challenge Time at the Craft Lovin' Challenge Blog!

Come join us for the second challenge at Craft Lovin' Challenge Blog. This time the theme is a popular one -- Anything Goes!
My inspiration for this one is a card, and I used several products from our sponsors.  I used a digi stamp from Crafty Sentiments, and digi paper from Tabitha's Designs

I cut the beehive shape out on the Silhouette, using a file from The Cutting Café. The bear was colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Designs Stamps,"Whimsical Fun Volume 1" stamp set. I used crinkle ribbon from, of course, 3 Girl JAM.  It's the Tuxedo from the Celebrations bundle. The small twine bow is twine from Timeless twine.  It's the Cape Cod twine, with yellow and gray together.
Here's a little different angle of the card:

Link up in our Anything Goes challenge at The Craft Lovin' Challenge Blog.  You'll have until June 28.  There's great prizes to win from our sponsors!
