Have a Silly Seahorse Kind of Day -- for Oddball Art Stamps

It's time for a bit of mid-challenge inspiration over on the Oddball Art Challenge blog.  This month, the theme is 'Going in Circles'.  I can do that easily enough, so the challenge should be easy, right?

Using Image #323 - Sid the Silly Seahorse, some watercolor papers and my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, I created this:

Once I got the effect I wanted, I used circle dies to create the card.  The stitched circle die is from Craftin' Desert Divas.  The circle background die is form Spellbinders.  I used a circle punch on the sentiment (also from Craftin' Desert Divas).  The waves background paper is from Imagine That! Digis by Kris.  The purple shimmer trim is from Close To My Heart.

Do you need #323 - Sid the Silly Seahorse in your own collection?  Been eyeing some other Oddball Art goodies?  Did you see yesterday's new release?  Check out the Oddball Art Etsy store, and use discount code DTJULIE10 to get 10% off of anything in the store!  Yea!  Then, with new digis at the ready, come join the circle challenge at the Oddball Stamps Challenge blog

Best Witches -- a New Release at Oddball Art Co.

I'm pleased as punch to announce that I'm on the design team for Oddball Art.  It tickles me to no end to be able to say, "I'm an Oddball" because it is to true!  Besides that, Lizzy Loves' images bring out the quirky, fun side of me, and I like that!

Today is a new release day, and you can find several in the Etsy shop.  This great one, just in time for Halloween crafting, comes with the digi image and sentiment:

I colored Best Witches with Copic markers, then fussy cut the witch on her broom, her cat, AND her pet spider (can you see it?).  They are all taking off for a fun night of adventure, but that cat better hang on tight!

The witch hat shaped card SVG file can be found at The Cutting Cafe.  Papers are from Close To My Heart.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM-- it's part of the Spooky Bundle. I used a Creative Memories punch in 2 sizes to cut out the sentiment.

Need this great image and sentiment for yourself?  Been eyeing some other great Oddball Art images?  I've got a great way for you to get them at a discount!!  Use code DTJULIE10 at checkout for 10% off anything in the shop!  Not just digis!  Wow! Lizzie is so generous!

Check out the other awesome new releases on the Oddball Art blog today, plus there's a new challenge starting (see my other post).  Have you joined the Oddball Art Facebook group?  There's tons of inspiration, a Facebook contest, chances to chat with Lizzy Love and the DT, plus lots of fun!  You, too, can be an Oddball!

Patriotic Hearts -- for QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede.  With Independence Day just around the corner here in the U.S., and Canada Day happening even sooner, this week we're going with a patriotic theme.  Show us your country's colors!

I love the U.S.A., and I'm showing my patriotism with this card:

QKR Stampede has rubber stamps and digis for any occasion, including July 4.  I used Patriotic Heart (digi23006) on this card, changing the color of the stamp using Picmonkey, printing it 3 times, and using a heart-shaped punch from Creative Memories to cut them out.  The chevron background was cut out on my Cricut Explore and mounted on an A2 size card base.  All papers are from Close To My Heart.

Please join us this week at QKR Stampede for our Patriotic challenge.  I'd love to see what you make!

*****Please note this post has been previously published on the new blog. I am in the process of switching everything back. Thank you for your patience.*****

A Vintage Christmas -- for The 12 Months of Christmas

I'm posting this card for The 12 Months of Christmas Link-up.  The theme this month is Home for the Holidays, Vintage Style. It's time for some mid-month inspiration:

Our sponsor this month is Luna Girl.  If you like vintage, you definitely need to check out Luna Girl.  Her selection is incredible!

I used the 2.5 inch Rounds Christmas Birds & Holly Sheet on this card. Once it was printed, I chose which round I wanted to use, punched it out with a Creative Memories Circle Punch, then used a slightly larger punch to mat it. I wanted a black mat for emphasis, so used a Lifestyle Crafts Circle Die and Close To My Heart Black are Stock for the final layer.  The vintage snowflake designer papers are from Lisa Decosse, of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. The set of papers is called Snow Fest.  The rhinestone swirl has been in my stash forever.  I picked it up long ago in an after Christmas clearance (Michael's or Joann's?).  The round sparkles are from Close To My Heart.

Join our 12 Months of Christmas Challenge.  Link up any Christmas card you'd like.  If it meets the theme, you'll be eligible for this month's prize!

I'm Hooked on YOU! for QKR Stampede

Happy New Year, everyone!  It's Friday, and time for the first challenge of the year at QKR Stampede.  Our theme this week is everyone's favorite -- "Anything Goes!"
Christmas is over, New Year's Eve has come and gone, now the locals are into ice fishing.  So, why not a fishing penguin?

I used 2 digis from QKR Stampede on this card: Ice Fishing (digi7101), and I'm Hooked (digi16213).  I colored the penguin image with Copic markers, then used a Spellbinders die to cut it out.  The papers are all from Close To My Heart.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM. It is the Red, from the Red, White, and Blue Bundle. I used a Creative Memories Heart Punch on the sentiment.
Join us this week at QKR Stampede for our "Anything Goes" Challenge.  I'd love to see what you make, and it'll be a great way to start the New Year!

Beary Christmas! for Amy Doodle's Stamp Co.

Happy Tuesday, happy December!  I'm posting today for Amy Doodle's Stamp Company.  Today, I'm featuring Beary Christmas.

I colored the digi with Copic markers in the following colors:
Hat -- R32, R35, R37, R39
Hat rim -- C00, C01 -- Crystal Stickles
Ribbon -- BG32, BG34
Bear -- E30, E31, E44, E47

The sentiment is part of the Beary Christmas digi.  It comes with several sentiment options.  I cut it out using a circle punch from Creative Memories.
The designer papers were a gift.  I believe they are from Doodle Bug Designs.  The glitter paper is from American Crafts.  I used Lifestyle Crafts circle dies to cut the various circles to create the layers and card base.  The snowflakes were cut out using Cheery Lynn Snowflowers dies.
Check out the North Pole event on Facebook each day this week to see more great winter/Christmas creations.  And, there's always fun and inspiration on the Amy Doodle Facebook page

Spring Butterflies are Here!

Hello, and happy Tuesday, everyone!  Spring is being very slow in coming here in NW WI.  In fact, we're having snow showers again today.  I'm afraid the only butterflies around are those I create myself on paper.  This is the last week for this term with The Cutting Cafe, so we can make anything we wanted.  Thinking spring, I decided to make this:

I used the Butterfly Shaped Card template and cutting file from The Cutting Cafe.   I re-sized the butterfly a couple times to get the smaller layers.
The papers on this card are from My Mind's Eye Collectible.  The sentiment is from a Close To My Heart stamp set.  I used a Creative Memories heart punch.  The pearls are from my stash.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my 2 terms with Regina and The Cutting Cafe.  The experience has been very rewarding. And, fortunately for me, Regina is changing the structure of her team so I will be able to continue.  See you next week!!!! Yeehaw!

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Easter Bunny Greetings -- for The Cutting Cafe

Hello, and happy Tuesday, everyone! Spring is finally springing here in NW Wisconsin.  There are flocks of robins everywhere, the red-winged blackbirds are back claiming territory, and the sandhill cranes are standing on the ice, waiting for it to go off the small lake across the road from us.  Ah yes, Spring.  And Easter is just around the corner.  Which, for me, as church organist, means rehearsals, rehearsals, rehearsals.  And lots of church services.
Oh, but this is a crafting post, isn't it?
Today, for The Cutting Cafe, I made a card that's just brimming with Easter wishes...
This is the Easter Bunny shaped card 2.  It goes together very quickly and comes with a matching envelope (Love that!).  I don't usually use glitter, but his tail screamed for it, so I broke down and glittered up his tail.  I wanted a glamorous bunny, after all!  The ribbon around his neck is from 3 Girl JAM.  It is Baby Girl Pink from the Baby Bundle.  Papers are from Echo Park. I used a Creative Memories heart punch, a retired Close To My Heart "Happy Easter" sentiment stamp, and the card was ready for mailing.
Make sure you visit the Cutting Cafe blog later this week to see the entire team's inspiring projects.  And, you'll have a chance to win 3 sets of your choice from the store.  There's so many great ones to choose from!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Hap-Bee to be here!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I hope it's truly spring where you are.  We're looking like it's for real here in NW WI.  The leaves are budding out on the trees, birds are building nests and singing their hearts out, and the wildflowers are beginning to bloom.  It's my favorite time of year!

I'm so happy to be posting today! It's my first post for the Joy's Life Stamps design team! Yea!  You can find today's post here. It's a great blog to visit everyday, with some awesome inspiration from a talented team!

My card for today uses the Joy's Life stamp set, Punny Animals. It's a very fun set to work with!  The theme this week at Joy's Life is dimension. Here's what I did.

Isn't that bee so cute?  I used the Create-a Critter II Cricut cartridge to cut it out, added some Stickles for dimension and pizazz, and used a Viva Décor Anthracite Pearl pen on his eyes. See that adorable honeycomb chipboard?  That's from my friend DeeDee.  She has a new company, selling chipboard called UmWow Studios.  You definitely need to check it out.  So cool! I used papers from Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup 6x6 paper, some chocolate cupcake Trendy Twine, a hexagon punch by Creative Memories, and some Close To My Heart Kraft paper for the tag.

I'll leave you with a close up of the bee and sentiment:

Hope your day is hap-bee!
