Penguin Birthday -- for Stella Says Sketch

It's Sunday, and Stella is saying "Sketch!" at Catch the Bug Challenges.  And, I don't know about you, but I don't argue with Stella!  She rules at Bugaboo Stamps!  Today starts the first Stella Says Sketch of 2019, so join us and start a trend! (Stella is very trendy!)

My brother's birthday is this week, and he loves to ski. He's been on the ski patrol and has been a downhill ski coach for over 35 years now.  I can't even imagine the young lives he has touched with his skills!  Every year, I look for a skiing image to color up for him for his birthday card.  It's very convenient that his birthday is in January!

Here's Winter Penguin Ski:

I colored Winter Penguin Ski with Copic markers.  Then, of course, I used this week's sketch from Stella Says Sketch:

Papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are part of the January new release.  They are from the Snowmen Digital Paper Collection

The Stella Says Sketch Challenges at Catch the Bug run for 2 weeks, so you'll have until Jan. 19 to enter this challenge.  Have fun!

Snowflake Thanks -- for Dies R Us

Happy Sunday, blog readers.  I'm on the Dies R Us Inspiration blog today, sharing a winter thanks card. It seems I am often in need of thank you cards, and so soon after Christmas, I'm still sending out some from the many gifts my husband and I received.  Here's one I created using dies from the Dies R Us Store:

Isn't that large snowflake stunning?  Here's the supplies I used.  I'll link them at the  bottom of this post:

Probably the hardest part of this card was choosing the papers.  I wanted something that would really make that snowflake block pop.  I thought a background paper with some shine would do it.

Here's all the pieces after they've been die cut:

I used 2 different brands of dies on this card -- Impression Obsession and Amy Design, and each die cut beautifully, regardless of the type of paper I was cutting it on.

I assembled everything using the Best Glue Ever.  It really does live up to its name.  It's great for intricate die cuts.

Here's that list of supplies I promised you:

Papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop. They are from the January new release.  They are the Snowmen paper collection

I'll close with a picture of my 7 month of puppy, Winter.  He loves winter, snow, and running free! He sends you Warm Winter Wishes and thanks you for stopping by today!

Don't forget to come join in the fun at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  There's a new challenge theme offered on the 1st and 15th of each month and one lucky randomly drawn winner will receive a gift voucher prize to the Dies R Us Store.  For your convenience, all the important Dies R Us links are provided below.

I colored Brats Winter Snowman with Copic markers.

I used a sketch on this card from The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge.  I used a sketch from Sept 6, 2017, flipped 90 degrees:

Anything But Rectangle Candle -- for the 12 Months of Christmas

Here it is!  My first Christmas card of 2019!  Woot! Woot!  Only about 50 more to go and it's a wrap!

Today starts the new year and a new challenge at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  The theme this month is "Anything but Rectangle."  Since I loved shaped cards, I had fun with this one!

Our sponsor this month is SheepSki Designs.  Andrea North has many wonderful digital images in her SheepSki Designs Etsy Shop -- for Christmas, or any time of year.  Check it out here

I used the beautiful Christmas Candle to create this circle shaped card:

I colored up Christmas Candle with Copic markers, then used a variety of circle dies to cut it out, back it, and make the circle shaped card.  The card base is a die from Tattered Lace.

The beautiful poinsettia paper on this card is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  Lisa is continuing to sponsor the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up again this year, so if you link up 2 Christmas cards each month, you'll be eligible for one of her papers that month.

I know this isn't the time of year we usually think of creating Christmas cards, but I love to make 1 or 2 each month.  It makes November and December MUCH less hectic!  I hope you, too, get at least one made and find time to link up with us at The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  You'll want a chance at these awesome prizes!

Christmas Candle-- for SheepSki Designs

Old or New --that's the theme at the SheepSki Designs Challenge blog for January 2019.  Great theme for a new year, don't you think?  You can either enter a favorite card using a SheepSki Designs image that you've enjoyed making from the past, or create something new.

I've always loved Andrea North's Christmas Candle image, and needed to color it up for another challenge today, so I decide to use it for today's challenge at SheepSki Designs Challenge Blog.  So, it's the "new" theme for me with Christmas Candle:

I colored Christmas Candle with Copic markers, then cut it out and backed using a couple Lifestyle Crafts circle dies.

The card base was cut out with my Silhouette Cameo 3 with an SVG file from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons.  It can also be found in the Silhouette Design Store.  The poinsettia background paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The red shimmer trim is from Close To My Heart.

I hope you find time to join us this month at SheepSki Designs Challenge Blog.  Now that the holidays are over, maybe things will slow down?  Well, maybe not! But take time for yourself anyway!

It's Snowing -- All Dressed Up Facebook Challenge

It's 2019!  I hope you have some goals set for the new year!  I'm hoping for better health, and I'm going to work on gaining strength.  Here's to 2019!

It's January 1 -- that means there's a new challenge starting in the All Dressed Up Facebook Group.  This month, the theme is 'Clean & Simple Cards'.

Since January is generally the coldest and snowiest month where I live, I went with a winter themed card for the challenge.

This is It's Snowing!:

I colored It's Snowing! with Copic markers.  Since the theme this month is 'clean & simple cards', I just layered some papers behind the awesome It's Snowing! image.

Papers on this card are by We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are from the Winter Sunshine Paper Collection

The snowflakes are dies, but I'm not sure of the company.  Possibly Tattered Lace?

The Clean & Simple Cards challenge will run the whole month of January in the All Dressed Up Facebook Group.  I hope you can join in the fun!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
D.L. Art -- January Linky Party
Polkadoodle -- ATG

Warm Hugs -- for Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez

It's felt like winter in NW Wisconsin since early October, but it is officially winter now.  This cute Winter Duck, from Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez, is sending Warm Winter Hugs your way!

I colored up Winter Duck with Copic markers, using a die found at Dies R Us -- it's a Yvonne Creations Christmas Die.  Papers on this card are also from Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez.  The blue snowflakes are from the Blue Christmas paper pack.  The gold dots are from the Science Digital papers.

Check out the  Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez blog to see great inspiration using her images.  Then, there's the Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez Facebook Group for even more inspiration, games, challenges, and prizes.
