I love Sasayaki Glitter images. Over on at The Outlawz, the Twisted Thursday group is having a Beach Babe challenge, and I knew I had just the perfect "babe" to color up for the challenge!
I used the darling digi, Flamingo on the Beach to create this:
I colored Flamingo on the Beach with Copic markers. The sentiment is from the We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is one of the Itty Bitty Summer Sentiments. Papers on the card are from Imagine That Digistamp.
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

I have this blog as a place to share my creative self -- be it card making, music playing, scrapbooking, altered art, home decor, or whatever direction my art takes me. My dogs are always a part of my home life, so they have to be a part of my blog, too.

God Bless America -- for Bugaboo Stamps
It's Wednesday, and it's usually a Humor Me Wednesday post on the Catch the Bug Blog, but since tomorrow is Independence Day here in the US, I'm posting a patriotic card instead. I haven't gotten more and more patriotic as I've aged, finding more and more reasons to love my country, and more specifically, the people that make up this country. So, in honor of the land I love:
God Bless America!
In my small town, we have a huge celebration on the 4th of July. It's the annual Liberty Fest. I'll be helping the nursing home get the residents outdoors to see the parade. Our town of less than 2000 people draws a crowd of over 10,000 to watch the parade. There's a beach party, bands throughout the day, a softball tournament, a horse pull, a tractor pull, an arts & crafts fair, and of course, fireworks in the evening.
I used USA Flag Puppy on this card, colored with Copic markers. Isn't he the cutest? I love that expression on his face!
The background of stars was created with a die from Avery Elle. The sentiment was computer generated.
There will be other Humor Me Wednesday ideas on the Catch the Bug Blog, and I'm sure some of them will be humorous. I hope you hop on over to the Catch the Bug Blog and check out all the talent there.
And, to let you know about the upcoming fun at Bugaboo! Take a look at this:

USA Pup - for Scrapy Land Challenges
It's the first Wednesday of the month, which means it's time for a new challenge at the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog. It's also the day before Independence Day here in the US, so I'm going with a Patriotic Theme for today's challenge project.
First, though, some information about Scrapy Land Challenges: Challenges run for 2 weeks, and are always Anything Goes, as long as you use a die that the Scrapy Land Store sells. Scrapy Land carries over 55 brands of dies, so you have plenty to choose from! There are 2 winners each challenge for a $10 gift certificate.
In honor of July 4th, here's my Patriotic Pup:
I started by cutting out the 3 stitched stars. They are from Avery Elle. If you used the search engine in the Scrapy Land Store, you will find many similar star dies that would work. Then, using an alphabet die set from Spellbinders, I die cut the USA. Scrapy Land doesn't carry this exact alphabet, but has many that would work just the same as this one did. Again, use the search function to find them.
I colored up the cute, patriotic pup from Bugaboo Stamps, fussy cut him, and glued him to the front of the card. I found the blue/stars background paper at Pixel Scrapper. It is digital. I wanted the stars to be very small, so instead of printing it on a full sheet of paper, I brought it into a Pages software and shrunk it to a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 size to make the stars nice and small.
The cute patriotic flair button and pretty crinkle ribbon are from D.L. Art.
Anything Goes with a die Scrapy Land Store sells -- easy, right? I do hope you join us in the next 2 weeks!
I'd like to enter the following challenges:
Outlawz Festive Fridays -- your national flag
Cut It Up Challenges -- Red, White, and Blue
Papercraft Challenge -- stars

Take Me to the Beach! a Bugaboo Stamps New Release
It's Tuesday, it's July, and it very well may be HOT where you live. That's why today's New Release at Bugaboo Stamps is perfect! You'll want to grab it at 1/2 price and get it colored up ASAP, then enter it in a Catch the Bug challenge. Then, you can win more Bugaboo Stamps digis. How fun would that be? But, I digress.... Today's New Release is AKV Beach Girl:
I colored AKV Beach Girl with Copic markers. She colored up very quickly. It wasn't long, and I was making the card.
Speaking of card construction, I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday to make this card. It's an Anything Goes week, so I used the sketch from week #568.
I found the goggles and snorkel paper, plus the mini hearts paper at Pixel Scrapper. They were part of the Summer Lovin' mini kit. The sequins are from Close To My Heart. The sentiment is computer generated. The border was cut with a die from Diamond Press. The sentiment was cut out with a die from my stash.
New Release day at Bugaboo Stamps -- it's a great chance to pick up this cute AKV Beach Girl for 1/2 price (all week). Check out the Catch the Bug blog to see what the other talented Bugaboo Stamps designers made with this super cute beach girl!

Happy Howlidays! for the 12 Months of Christmas
It's a new month, so there's a new link up over at the 12 Months of Christmas. This month, the optional theme is Christmas Plaids.
Our wonderful sponsor this month is Ike's Art. Decosse's Dynamite Doodles is again sponsoring a wonderful plaid paper for those that use a plaid paper on their card.
I used the darling digi, Xmas Jack Russell, to create this:
I colored up Xmas Jack Russell with Copic markers. The Christmas plaid background paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. It is from her Holiday Hoopla collection. The dog paw border was purchased at Dies R Us. It is from Frantic Stamper. The sentiment is a retired stamp I've had in my possession forever. Or is that fur-ever? The glimmer trim is from CTMH, and the tiny bit of twine is from Timeless Twine.
Christmas plaids-- I love the look, and I hope you do, too! It's the optional theme this month at The 12 Months of Christmas. Come link up your Christmas cards and be eligible to win the gift certificate from Ike's Art! Link up a plaid card and get the paper from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Outlawz Festive Fridays -- Christmas
The Holly & the Ivy -- Anything Christmas Goes
Christmas at Sweet Stamping -- ATChristmas Goes
Crafting By Designs -- Christmas

Peace on Earth -- for SheepSki Designs
July 1 -- the 1/2 point of the year. It's also the month that has lots of Christmas challenges. You'll see Christmas cards popping up all over blog land and Facebook. With that in mind, SheepSki Designs Challenge Blog is using the theme Early Christmas/Winter for the challenge this month. That gives you the option of going with either a Christmas or a winter themed project, whichever you prefer. Andrea Norris has plenty of wonderful digis that will fit either theme in her SheepSki Designs Etsy Shop.
I went with a Christmas themed card, but went with non-traditional colors. This is Rachel.
I colored Rachel with Copic markers. She had such a peaceful look on her face, that the sentiment seemed a logical one to use.
The sentiment and papers are from We Are 3 Digital Shop. They are New Releases in July. The papers are from the new Snow Globe collection, and the sentiment is one of the new Snow Globe sentiments.
I cut the card base and layers out with a Spellbinders label die set. The crinkle ribbon is from a retired company, 3 Girl JAM.
Early Christmas/Winter -- get a Christmas card made, enter it in some Christmas challenges during July, and you'll be glad you did come December. Make sure you link up at SheepSki Designs Challenge Blog. I'd love to see what you make, and we've got GREAT prizes for you to win!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Outlawz Festive Fridays -- Christmas
Jingle Belles -- Snow
The Holly & Ivy Christmas Challenge -- Anything Christmas Goes
Christmas at Sweet Stamping -- non-traditional colors

You're the Best! for All Dressed Up Stamps
July 1. July 1? Where did June go? July 1 -- that means it's the start of a new challenge in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook Group. The theme for July is Gems &/or Pearls. Easy, right? So many of Wendy Burns beautiful girlie images will work wonderfully with gems and pearls. Start coloring them up! You'll find them in the All Dressed Up Stamps Etsy Shop.
For my design team inspiration, I colored up the darling Pretty Lashes, adding pearls to the card:
My original plan had been to add a pearl necklace, but I didn't have any seed beads that looked pearl-like to make it work. This was plan B. I colored Pretty Lashes with Copic markers. I just love this image! Isn't she beautiful? I don't know if it's the upswept hair, or the flowers in her hair, or maybe it's those Pretty Lashes, but I think she's just awesome! Do you like the papers on this card? They are also from All Dressed Up Stamps. The pretty pink background paper is from the All Dressed Up Pink papers. The pretty blue border is from the Wedding papers.
I used a sketch from a couple weeks ago at Sketch Saturday to help me construct this card. They have a plethora of great sketches if you're stuck! The sentiment is an acrylic stamp from Close To My Heart. The pearls, also from Close To My Heart, were all white, but I used a Copic marker and colored them to match my Pretty Lashes girl. I love this technique! I works great with gems and ribbon, too. The border was made with a Diamond Press die.
Gems &/or pearls -- it's the theme all this month for the All Dressed Up Facebook Group Challenge. I do hope you join us and try to win some of these darling digis for yourself!
