Inspirational Birthday -- for Path of Positivity

It's Monday, and it's time for some mid-challenge inspiration at Path of Positivity Challenge Blog. Our theme this month is "anything inspirational" -- that's a pretty broad topic!

After surviving cancer, I have a different outlook on birthdays.  Any birthday needs to be celebrated with gusto, and just making it to the next one is inspirational and cause for a wonderful celebration. You will never hear me complain about turning a year older again!

I have a birthday card for the challenge today, featuring an image and sentiment from one of our sponsors this month, Scribbles Designs.  When you first look at it, it might not look particularly inspirational, but it is!  This birthday card, intentionally made with bright colors and bright papers, is for a friend with cancer.  When diagnosed, she didn't know if she'd make it to her upcoming birthday, but she will.  We are going to celebrate it big time.  She won't see another one, so this one has to be REALLY special!

Here's the card:
This card uses an image and sentiment from the Carl Party set. I colored the presents with Copic markers.

Papers on this card are from Pixel Scrapper.  I love how colorful they are!

I found a sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches and really liked it, so you used on this card.  It will be my first time entering one of their challenges, so I'm excited about that!
Here's the sketch:
Path of Positivity -- any inspirational project will fit the theme, and you have through Feb. 3 to link up with us.  Please join in the fun. I'd love to see your creations!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Tuesday Morning Sketches -- #486
D.L. Art -- January Linky Party
Seize the Birthday -- Confetti or any kind of birthday project
Outlawz Festive Friday -- Birthday

  1. You're right. Too many of us complain about getting older. Lately, though I'm still guilty of complaining that another year has gone by and the candles are getting rather crowded (metaphorically anyway), I do always follow the statement up immediately saying that I'm thankful because it certainly beats the alternative of not having any more birthdays. Love this sweet card for your friend. I truly hope it inspires her to continue looking forward with hope in her heart. Love the bright bold colours--definitely a good choice!

    Hugs,
    Lisa
