Tulips -- for Eureka Stamps

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps.  Our theme this week is a continuation of last week -- "more Spring".  Here in Wisconsin, any Spring would be nice!  We had more snow yesterday.
At least my card looks like Spring!
I used Eureka Stamps digi "Tulip Frame" (digi25301) on this card.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  Papers are from My Mind's Eye - Cut and Paste Flair 6x6 pad. I found the ribbon at a Ben Franklin store in Northern Minnesota for $1 for a whole spool.
Join us this week at Eureka Stamps for some "More Spring".

Spring Butterfly -- for Not Just Cards

A new challenge starts today at Not Just Cards Challenges.  One of our sponsors this time is The East Wind. I love these images!  I chose to work with this fun one!
This is 'Aurora' Spring Butterfly, colored with Copic markers.  The 3D Treat box can be found in the Silhouette Design Store.  The die cut butterfly is a Cheery Lynn die. Papers for this project are from Close To My Heart
Join us at Not Just Cards, where anything goes.  You have 2 weeks to enter!

Happy Easter Animals

It's time for a new challenge at 3 Girl JAM.  This month, the theme is "Anything Goes With Ribbon".
I used an adorable image from Gerda Steiner Designs.  This image is part of her progressive challenge.  This is the March image.
I colored up this Kitten and Chicks with Derwent Inktense pencils and a water brush.  All the dies used are from Lawn Fawn.  Papers are from Close To My Heart.
The pretty crinkle ribbon is the new tie dye ribbon from 3 Girl JAM.  I'm loving all the tie dye ribbons for spring!
Join us this month at 3 Girl JAM.  You can link up here, or on the 3 Girl JAM Challenge blog

Love is Kind -- for QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede.  This week's theme is very easy -- add a sentiment.  See? Easy Peasy!
Here's my card, with a sentiment, of course!
This is QKR Stampede digi "Love is Kind" (digi6606).  I colored the image with Copic markers, inked the edges with Tim Holtz Spun Sugar distress ink, and cut it out with a Spellbinders die.
The card base is a cutting file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. Papers and Flair badge are all from Close To My Heart. Tie dye crinkle ribbon is 3 Girl JAM.
Join us this week at QKR Stampede for our "Add a Sentiment" Challenge.  I'd love to see what you make!

Muslin, with an Easter Twist -- for 3 Girl JAM

I'm posting today for 3 Girl JAM.  My usual style is a card or 3D item.  However, 3 Girl JAM has some wonderful muslin bags in the store, and I want to showcase one of those today.
Here's one side of the bag:

This is the reverse side of the bag:

I got the idea for these bags from this video.  The Easter Fun printable stamps are from The Cutting Cafe. I added some Stickles glitter glue to their tales.
This is the 2 inch by 3 inch muslin bag from 3 Girl JAM. I removed the cord that came in it and threaded in some Diagonal Striped Ribbon in it's place.
There are so many uses for these bags -- I love them for little gifts (or Easter candy).  Pick some up today!  Use discount code JO10, and get 10% off your entire order!

Lip Balm Owl Card -- for SDS

I'm very late jumping on the band wagon with EOS Lip Balms.  I've been stuck in a rut with my usual favorites, but Snapdragon Snippets recently released a couple cute files using these lip balms, so I decided to buy a couple and try them.  What have I been missing?  I've been snatching up various colors and have plans for all kinds of gifts.  Here's an owl card I made for a friend's birthday. She's a bit of an owl fanatic:
The file is found in the Snapdragon Snippets Store.  It's the Lip Balm Owl.  There are several cute owl lip balm holders, and other great lip balm holders to check out, too.  I sized this to fit on a
5 x 6 1/2 inch card base.  Somehow, the owl just needed to have googly eyes.
Papers for this card have been in my stash for a long time.  They are old My Mind's Eye papers, I think.  The tie dye crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM
These lip balm holders are so fun!  They make great gifts, and now that I've tried the EOS lip balms, I wonder why I've waited so long. Great stuff!

Winners, Winners, LOTS of Winners!(and a card)

The blogoversary celebration has ended, but the prizes need to be collected! There are LOTS of them!  First, though, I have a card I want to enter in this month's progressive challenge at The Outlawz. I'll show you that first. SUSPENSE!
This image is from Gerda Steiner Designs.  I tried Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils on it, but I'm not too happy with the results.  I have another one on my blog in a couple days that turned out better.  It is definitely a learning process.
These are some old Close To My Heart papers that I used.  I liked all the patterns on them against the circle patterns. I used dies from Lifestyle Crafts and Lawn Fawn to make this card. The sentiment is a stamp I won from Craftin' Desert Divas.
Now, for the weiners!  I mean whiners!  Oops! winners!!!!

Shake it! for Inspiration Destination

It's Wednesday, and time for a new challenge at Inspiration Destination Challenge Blog (IDCB).  The theme is always "anything goes".
One of our sponsors this week is The Cutting Cafe.  Regina has the absolute cutest files!  I knew right away I wanted something for Easter, so I chose this shaker card from the Easter Overlays and Shaker Cards cutting files:

There are several options with this card, but I decided to make just his tail into a shaker.  I used micro beads inside.  Papers for this card are from Close To My Heart. The tie dye crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM
Join us this week at IDCB.  There are some wonderful prizes to win, including any 3 files of your choice from The Cutting Cafe.  Pick this one!  It's so. much. fun!

Rose Garden -- for The East Wind

Some images just challenge you more than others.  Such is the case with today's New Release from The East Wind. Today's release is called "Hair Heaven (Rose Garden)".  I chose to emphasize the rose theme:

I have to tell you, after working with all that hair, it reminded my why I keep mine short!  Long hair is TOO much WORK!  But my, she's a beauty, isn't she? If you want to practice curls and shading, cast shadows, etc., this is a great image!  There's lots of skin there for skin tone practice, too. Plus, the big eyes are a bonus.  Super fun!
Hair Heaven (Rose Garden) was colored with Copic markers, then mounted on papers by Close To My Heart. The ribbons are from my stash.  The sentiment is by My Pink Stamper.
Check out The East Wind's Etsy Shop often.  There are new releases every Tuesday and Friday. The East Wind Challenge blog can be found here.  There's always more inspiration and fun in The East Wind Facebook group.

Smile -- for Crafty Sentiments Inspirations

It's Tuesday, and I'm posting again today for Crafty Sentiments Designs Inspirational Blog, where I'm guest designing for 6 months.  I am so happy with this assignment, as I love the images I get to work play with.  They are so adorable. Today's image is no exception!

This little darling is Crafty Sentiments Designs, "I Love Flowers" from the Lollipop Dreams collection (rubber stamp).  This image was an absolute joy to color with Copic markers.  I stamped a small sentiment right beside the image that fit inside the Spellbinder dies I used to cut out and frame the "I Love Flowers" stamped image.
Papers and Glimmer Trim are from Close To My Heart.  The bling is from my stash. I hope you enjoy my little flower girl and check out the other wonderful images in the Crafty Designs Sentiments Shop. If you'd like to try to win some Crafty Designs Sentiments images of your own, enter our Crafty Sentiments challenges.  A new one starts each Tuesday.

I'm Praying for You -- for Eureka Stamps

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps Challenge Blog. This week, the theme is "Think Spring".   It snowed yesterday, and it's in the twenties today, but I'm more than willing to think spring!
I used 2 Eureka Stamps digis on this card -- Flower Basket (digi3601) and Praying for you (digi13107).
I am trying to learn colored pencils.  I colored the Flower Basket image with Prismacolor pencils, having better success in some areas than others.  It's a work in progress!
I used Canson Mi-Tientes drawing paper to print the image on.  I like the texture and tooth to this paper better than others I have tried.
I used several Spellbinders dies on this card and my corner chomper.  Other papers are from Close To My Heart.
Join us this week for our "Think Spring" challenge at Eureka Stamps!  Think warmth! Think flowers!  Think motorcycle season!

Relax, Renew, Restore -- for The East Wind

Looking for Julie's Blogoversary Blog Hop?  Click HERE!
It's Friday, and that means there's a new release at The East Wind. Today's new release is "Lucy Loo Lotus Leaf".
I colored Lucy Loo Lotus Leaf with Copic markers, then used a variety of circle dies to create this card.  Most of them were Lifestyle Crafts dies, but the stitched circle one is from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment stamp is from Unity Stamp Company.  It seemed to fit Lucy and her relaxed posture. The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM, and the stick pin is from Petaloo.  Papers are from Teresa Collins -- He Said, She Said 6x6 pad.
The East Wind has new releases twice a week, and lots of fun things in the Etsy Shop.  Check it out!

Love Lives Here -- Again! for Timeless Twine

It's Thursday, so that means it's time for Throwback Thursday on the Timeless Twine blog.  I switched computers not too long ago, and not all my pictures from previous cards made it on to the new computer, so I looked through old cards until I found what I was looking for.
Here's the remake of the card:
Here's the original:
The stamp is from Unity Stamp Company. The new version of the card was colored with Prismacolor pencils. I made the background paper using a cloud embossing folder, a resist technique, and spray inks.
Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz products used:

Olive Green Timeless Twine

Lemonade Yellow Timeless Twine

Platinum Sequins -- coming soon

I want to invite you back March 20-22 for "Julie's Blogoversary Blog Hop."  I've gathered my friends for the 3rd edition of this event.  They'll be lots of inspiration and even more prizes -- including a $20 gift certificate to the Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz store, donated by Stacy. This digi, called 'St. Patrick's Day', was colored with Copic markers.  I cut it out with 2 sizes of Lifestyle Circle Dies.  Then, I mounted the Cat in a St. Pat's Hat on a Snapdragon Snippets Designs Leprechaun hat, cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.  I used several different shades of green card stock from Close To My Heart.
Join us this week at IDCB for our 'Always Anything Goes' challenge.

Shake an Easter Tail -- for The Cutting Cafe

Easter is just around the corner, and this time, for The Cutting Cafe, we can make "anything Easter."  Ever since I made the blind lady at my nursing home her first shaker card at Halloween, I've been making her new ones for every holiday.  She gets such enjoyment out of getting a card that she can actually do more than have someone read to her.  And, at 99, one should get all the enjoyment out of life one can find!  So, I made her this!!!
Papers on this card are from October Afternoon.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.  Sequins are from Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz.  The tie dye ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.
I want to invite you back for "Julie's 3rd Blogoversary Blog Hop", March 20-22.  There will be lots of inspiration and prizes, including a chance to win 3 sets of your choice from The Cutting Cafe!  Thanks, Regina! You are always so generous! There's also a couple of freebies for everyone who participates! Yea!

Die Cuttin' Divas -- Welcome Spring
Digi Choosday -- Anything but a square card

Easter Memories

I have today off, and I spent some time creating this card.  I made it for 2 reasons: 1) this image takes me right back to childhood and my first pet, Sniffer, and 2) I'm applying for The Paper Shelter's design team and wanted to use one of their images when I apply.  What better image than this one that brings back such fond memories!
On with it!  Let's see the card!

This is Peaceful Easter from The Paper Shelter.  If you are unfamiliar with The Paper Shelter and their products, every image purchased comes with a black and white version of the digital stamp (in PNG and JPG), a colored version, a matching paper, and a composition.  How great is that?!?  I have purchased and used their pre-colored images when I'm in a hurry, along with the digi paper, and they are wonderful.
I colored Peaceful Easter with Copic markers, using the colors of Sniffer (white with pink nose and ears), and using the color of my hair in childhood.  However, my hair was never that neat!
I made this card in my typical style to show The Paper Shelter.  As always, the image takes front and center.  I used several Spellbinders dies on this, and a Prima Marketing doily die.  Designer papers, shimmer trim, and card stock are from Close To My Heart. The tie dye crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  The stickpin was made for me by a friend.  You have to love friends!  Speaking of friends, "Julie's 3rd Blogoversary Blog Hop" is fast approaching.  It's March 20-22.  I've gathered friends and many sponsors for a fun hop.  I hope you can join us.  The fun starts here!
The Paper Shelter wanted our email addresses.  Mine is somewhere on my blog, but it's quite obscure.  To make it easier for TPS to find me, here it is:   julieodil at charter dot net.  Thanks so much for checking out my blog!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

I hope you can come back for a visit to my blog March 20-22 for "Julie's 3rd Blogoversary Blog Hop".  There will be lots of friends hopping, lots of inspiration, and LOTS of prizes to win, including a couple of freebies for EVERYONE who hops!

It's March 15, which means it's time for some mid-month inspiration at 12 Months of Christmas Link Up. This month, the theme is "Let It Snow."  Our wonderful sponsor is Scribbles Designs.  Here's my snowy creation:
This adorable Scribbles Designs image, is Snow Fun. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils.  All the designer papers on this card are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The tie dye ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM. The bling is by Prima - Say It With Crystals. The sentiment and card stock base are from Close To My Heart.
I'm happy to report that most of the snow has melted where I live.  The ice is still on the lakes, but it shouldn't be long and it will be going.  Signs of spring are everywhere!  But, for this challenge - "Let it Snow".

Thinking of You -- for QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede.  Our challenge this week is "stitching -- real or faux".  If you've ever seen me sew, you'd know faux is the way to go for me.
I used QKR Stampede digi "Rose Label" (digi17504) and "Thinking of You" (digi11701) on this card. I colored the Rose Label with Copic markers.  I used two sizes of Lawn Fawn dies to get the faux stitching look on this card.  The designer paper is from Wild Rose Studio.  Card stock and heart bling are from Close To My Heart.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.
Join us this week for our Stitching challenge at QKR Stampede.  My guess is that no matter what you create, you'll be a better seamstress than me!
