Christmas Inspiration for Get Inky! Stamps

There's a new challenge just getting underway at Get Inky! Challenges. The theme this next two weeks is "Christmas".  Here's my inspiration for the challenge and the Get Inky! Stamps blog:

I used the Holiday 2013 Get Inky! stamp set found here.  This stamp set is packed with images AND sentiments.  It is so fun to create with!  the possibilities are endless!
Inside of this is a gift card holder.  I cut it out on my Silhouette with a cutting file from My Scrap Chick.  I've made several of these, and they are ready to go.  Now, if I could just get my gifts wrapped!

Oh, Christmas Tree -- for The Cutting Cafe

The Cutting Café design team is showcasing more Christmas projects again this week.  We given a variety of files to work with, with a common theme -- a Christmas tree.  Since I'm in need of some goody bags for gifts for my staff, I set to work making several.  I love how they turned out.  I used the Christmas Tree Goody Bag holder from The Cutting Café.  This file is very easy to work with and quick to make.  I'll show you all 3 bags I made first, then each one so you can get a closer look.

When I was cutting these out, I made this one first:

This first goodie bag holder uses the Christmas Gift Tags printable stamps set also.  When I was cutting these out, the song, "Oh, Christmas Tree" kept going through my head.  I thought it would be fun to put the song title right in the middle of  a tree.  So I did, on this treat bag:

This second goodie bag holder uses the Christmas Card Fun printable set.  The tree is topped with a new Flair Button from 3 Girl JAM.  Then, I had the idea.  Why not put all the words to the song, in the shape of a tree, inside the cut out tree?  And I just knew if I've had this thought, so has Regina from The Cutting Café. And, sure enough, with a little poking around, I found the perfect printable set, "Christmas Sentiment Shapes":

This  bag holder is tied with some 3 Girl JAM jute ribbon. All papers are from Close To My Heart. They're called "Sparkle and Shine".  They were so fun to work with on this project! The red ribbon used is also from CTMH.
Don't forget to visit the rest of the design team to see their fantastic work.  And leave a comment on The Cutting Café blog Thursday for your chance to win 3 amazing sets of your own.  Good luck with your Christmas preparations!

Holiday TrEATs for Joy's Life Design Team

Oh, oh.  Christmas keeps getting closer!  This week, the Joy's Life design team is featuring 3D Christmas projects. I need lots of little treat boxes and bags to give away for little gifts, so this worked out well for me. Here's my 3D creation:

I used sentiment stamps from both Joy's Life "Wintery Puns" and "Oh, Christmas Puns."  You can find both of them, and all of Joy's wonderful stamps here in her store.

I cut the treat box out on my Silhouette.  It's a cutting file from The Cutting Café.  It's the test tube - candy holder box.  The candy tube and wood buttons are retired items from Close To My Heart.  The twine and mini clothespin are from Timeless Twine.  The hearts were punched out with Creative Memories punches.  Papers are from Echo  Park -- Dots & Stripes Christmas.
Well, the days are flying by, and I've got more Christmas gifts to make, so I better get busy!  Thanks for visiting!

My father-in-law's birthday is today.  He is a tea drinker, so I wanted to make him a gift that reflected that.  We got him a gift certificate to the local book store, and I made this to put it in...

I found this teapot gift box file in the Silhouette online store. I used Sarita papers from Close To My Heart, and cut it out on my Cameo.  My in-laws collect art from the Southwest US, and this paper reminded me of some of the art they collect.
Here's another view of a slightly different angle:

I made him a card to match the theme.  Here it is:

This teapot shaped card is a cutting file from The Cutting Café. Ribbons on both projects are from 3 Girl JAM. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co., and is mounted on a piece of wood veneer, also from Unity.
How's that for a coordinated pair of gifts?
I hope you like my inspiration for the 3D challenge.  Now, go check out what the others made, and make your own 3D creation!

Friends With Flair, Giveaway Winners and new Design Team Announced

If you're looking for the 3 Girl JAM Holiday Hop, please go HERE, or just scroll down.
Happy Friday, everyone!  It's been a long, busy week for me.  By the time today is over, I will have 50 hours in at work. Ugh! Next week will be better, though.  Both my husband and I are taking Monday and Tuesday off to celebrate our 30th(!) wedding anniversary.  I may do nothing but sleep!
I made this card a couple weeks ago and saved it until today.  I knew I'd be too busy this week to have any time to create.  It's a new card design for me, called a flip swing card.  What do you think?

If you want to try one yourself, I cut it out on my Silhouette, using this file I found in the Silhouette Online Store. Then, I used a couple different Unity stamps on the front of the card: "Gingham Christmas Greetings" and "naughty.nice.not sure".  I used ink from an ink pad and a water pen to get the watercolor effect on the holly and berries.
And, here's the inside, "flipped" part:

I used a Close To My Heart image and sentiment stamp inside, and more watercolor painting on the bird, then dressing the bird up with some Stickles and a Viva Décor Pearl pen.  After all, it's Christmas, and he needs to sparkle and shine! I also paper pieced his hat to give him some more dimension.
First, my design team announcement.  I've been just waiting to spill the beans on this one! I made the 2014 Timeless Twine Design Team!  I can't wait!  The chance to play with twine for a year! And with some really talented gals! Yeah!
And now, to announce the giveaway winners!  I did it, I did it! I made it to 300 followers! To celebrate, I chose 3 winners, one from each of my 3 posts last weekend (2 Friday, 1 Sunday).  Using Random.org, here are the 3 winners and their prizes:
JP Scraps -- grab bag of Unity Stamps, and because of my recent DT success, some Timeless Twine.
Donna K -- Unity Stamps, Timeless Twine, and 3 Girl JAM ribbon
Iris --  blog candy of 6x6 paper, stamps, ribbon, twine, embellishments, and whatever else I throw in.
Congrats, winners!  Please contact me with your addresses and I'll get your things in the mail ASAP.
I'm linking up early and heading to work for a 12 hour day.  Wish me luck!

This Christmas tree shaped card, found at The Cutting Café, is REALLY big.  It stands just under 9 inches tall, but will fit in a business size envelope.  I used the new Ribbon Candy Bundle crinkle ribbon on this card. It also used one of the new Christmas Flair buttons.

All Decorated Up For Christmas!

Here we are, the first Wednesday in December.  We're trimming the trees at the nursing home where I work today.  Yeah, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

This week, at The Cutting Café, we had many options to choose from: Christmas Bag Toppers, Stocking Box, Christmas Shapes Milk Carton, and/or a Candy Cane Box set.  I chose to work with the new Christmas Bag Toppers. They were very fun and easy to work with.  I chose to make the large bag that comes with the set, and it will hold LOTS of goodies!

I also chose the window option on this first bag. This features the Christmas Colored Basic Images printable stamps.
Here's a close up of the printable stamp:

And, one more view of the bag, from a different angle, so you can see the size a little better:

I had so much fun with the first bag, that I quickly made another one, using a different topper this time:

Aren't those toppers great? I love how they dress up this rather plain bag.  Beautiful!

Papers and ribbons for these projects are from Close To My Heart.
That's all for me today.  Don't forget to leave a comment Thursday on The Cutting Café blog for your chance to win 3 sets of your choosing.  It'll be a HARD choice!!
