Berry Best Wishes -- for 3 Girl JAM

Looking for the Pinque Peacock "My Favorite Things" Blog Hop?  Please click HERE!
Happy Friday, my crafty friends!  It's still strawberry season here where I live, and there's a food-related challenge going on over at the 3 Girl JAM Challenge blog. Put those 2 things together, and I can't help but think "berry".  Strawberries were definitely the inspiration behind today's food-related card:

The strawberry trio shaped card is a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe.  I used papers from Basic Grey (PB&J designer paper) and Close To My Heart (cardstock).  The sentiment is a retired stamp from Close To My Heart. The splash of red ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  Isn't it yummy?  It's from the Red, White, and Blue Bundle.  The red in this bundle is a true red, and I just love it!  I topped the double bow off with a button by Basic Grey.
Want some of that purdy red ribbon for yourself?  Use discount code JO10 for a 10% discount on your entire order.
Come join our food-related challenge, with ribbon.  You know you'll have fun!

Since Pinque Peacock and Unity Stamps are 2 of my favorite companies, and this hop is about "My Favorite Things", I used them both on this card:

Who doesn't love a great peacock, right?  This is a cutting file by Fluerette Bloom.  It's a tri-fold card.  The papers are from Close To My Heart. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company Itty Bitty stamp, "Simply Fabulous Peacock".  But the crowning glory on this strutting peacock card is the Pinque Peacock embellishments.  I used a 3/4 inch fabric covered button, a small Elegant Floral, and Soft Bright Sticky Back Jewels, also found at Pinque Peacock.

Hot, Hot, Hot! -- it's challenge time at Delightful Challenges

It's Thursday, which means it's time for a new challenge at Delightful Challenges. This week's theme is quite appropriate for mid-summer:  "hot, hot, hot!" (use warm colors). I had great fun with this one!

Here's "Laid Back Lucy", basking in the warm summer sun.  The waves are lapping at her toes, and she's drinking an orange slushy.  Life is good for Laid Back Lucy! (available in a colored version, also)  And on SALE!

Here's a closeup of my version of Laid Back Lucy, and the sentiment I used:

The "Happy Summer" sentiment is part of the Heatwave Sentiment Set.

The step card design is from SVG Attic.  It is part of the "All at Sea" collection.   Papers for this card are by Fancy Pants, Summer's End 12x12.  Laid Back Lucy is colored with Copic markers. her sunglasses have some Liquid Glass on them to make them shine.
Our sponsor this week is Yours or Mine Paper Crafts

And the prize?

Join our Hot, hot, hot challenge this week! I'd love to see what you create!

Strawberry Pocket Card -- for My Scrap Chick

Ah yes, strawberry season!  One of my favorite times of the year.  I can't seem to get enough fresh, locally grown berries.  And the season is in full-swing right now.  Those wonderful, sweet berries were the inspiration behind this card that I made today for My Scrap Chick.

This card is a pocket card, and is part of a kit from My Scrap Chick called "Strawberry Patch".  I love pocket cards!  They go together quickly, and are a nice little surprise for the recipient.  Why?  Because of the pocket, of course!

There's a great place to write your message on the face of the strawberry, and it's not at all what the recipient was expecting when they opened the envelope.
The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.  It is one of the Stamp of the Week sets. Papers are from Pebbles 12x12 Tree House Collection. The 2 half pearls are from my stash.
My Scrap Chick has been having great sales!  This whole collection was on sale for $1.00! -- 3D strawberry treat box, this pocket card, a handmade "2 sweet 4 words" card, strawberry shaped hang tags, and 2 sheets of printable words for the tags.  Keep watching, and you'll find lots of great stuff you just HAVE to HAVE!
I'm off to have a bowl of strawberries!  Enjoy your day!

Bon Travail -- for Eureka Stamps

It's Monday, which means it's time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps.   This week's theme is "vacation". Great theme, right?
I had a wonderful time with digis on this card, using three different stamps to create this:

I have never been to Paris, but it's on my "bucket list".  I'm going to get there some day , some way! And, hopefully, it will be when the Tour de France is there.  I love Tour Time! This card is my dream card!
I used 3 Eureka digi stamps on this card: "Paris" (digi60135)

Bon Travail (digi 60109)
and the uber cool map of the city of Paris (digi 60126)
The Eiffel Tower was cut out on my Cricut, using the French Manor cartridge.  The Enamel Dots are from My Mind's Eye.
And that's my vacation card.  I'd love for you to link up at Eureka Stamps this week so I can see your vacation project -- card, scrapbook layout, mini album.  It's a great challenge theme!

New Release Sunday -- and a Giveaway!

Today's a BIG day!  It's new release Sunday at DigiStamps4Joy, it's my birthday, and it's the day of my giveaway.  Stay tuned, and I'll get to it all.  First, the new release at DigiStamps4Joy.  There are new releases every. single. Sunday.  Today is no exception.  When Margy, the owner, gave us this week's image to work with, I knew instantly what sentiment I wanted to pair it with.  Here's my creation:

One of the new images released today, and the one I used on this card, is called, "Call a Cab".

I printed out my digi, colored her with Copic markers, then mounted her on some backing paper and mounted that on 3D foam squares.  I won papers on the card last summer at a crop event and these are some pieces I've been hoarding.  I don't remember the company.  I know the card base is BoBunny Double Dot. The sentiment is a Unity Stamp Company stamp.  The ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  It's the new Tie Dye 2 Bundle.  The black bling flourish is from Close To My Heart. There's some Close To My Heart Liquid Glass on the sunglass lenses to make them shiny (hard to see in the picture).
Do you see my new oval base floral frog?  My BFF gave that to me as a birthday present.  She found this one and another one at an antique shop and sent them to me.  I'm SO excited!! I love the shape of this one!
And now, for my celebration giveway.  It's been going on since June 27th.  I've had 15 blog posts since then.  I used Random.org to decide which post the winning comment should come from.  It chose post #12. I used Random.org again to pick which comment from that post would be the prize winner.  The comment was comment #3, Donna K!
Donna said: "Congratulations on your latest DT assignment Julie! I'm in awe of your busy schedule and creative life lady! I love your Foxy Fay box...the sentiments are FAB!!"

Congratulations, Donna K! Send me your address, and I'll send you your prize!
Now, I'm off to celebrate my birthday.  We were going to go on a looooong Harley ride since it's Sunday and we both have the day off.  But, there's a 70% chance of rain today.  We're going out to eat instead, then my very patient husband is taking me shopping at not 1, not 2, but 3 scrapbook stores in the BIG CITY!  Oh, I do love that man!
Make sure you visit the DigStamps4Joy blog to see the other fantastic new releases today, and the other great projects from this over-the-top talented design team!

'F' is for Friend

I'm posting today for The Cutting Cafe, and I'm a little sleep deprived.  Fireworks are legal where I live, and they were going off until the wee hours of the morning all over the neighborhood.  It was a beautiful night, and everyone took advantage of it.  So, today, things are fairly quiet.
Regina, owner of The Cutting Cafe, and mastermind of more creative ideas than I can even think of, recently released the "A-Z Letter Set", or you can buy the letters individually, if you prefer.  Our assignment this time was to use any letter we wanted.  I chose the letter 'F'.  Here's why:

I used the 'F' shaped card to create this for my best friend.  I love to make cards and send them to her -- she's my biggest fan!
Papers are My Mind's Eye Collectable.  The dragonfly is a Cheery Lynn die.  The ribbon is 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon.  It's the new Tie Dye Bundle. The glitter dots are also My Mind's Eye.
Here's a close up of the tag and bow:

The sentiment, also from The Cutting Cafe, is a printable stamp from the Everyday Mini Words set. I used a Creative Memories small tag punch.
I have a giveaway going on, celebrating several events: I wrote my 500th blog post last week, I just reached 400 followers on my blog, and I have over 100 "likes" on my Facebook page, Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  To celebrate all those things,  I'm having a giveaway:  I have some Timeless Twine, some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, a Unity stamp set, a Close To My Heart stamp set, some Pinque Peacock embellishments, a 6x6 paper pad, and various embellishments that I need a home for. I also have two generous sponsors:  DigiStamps4Joy is giving a $10 gift certificate to the store, and The Cutting Cafe is offering any 3 sets.  WOW! If you'd like to be eligible to win, please leave a comment on any of my blog posts between June 27 and July 6.  I'll draw a winner on my birthday.  It's my day, and you get the present!  I'd also love it if you "like" my Facebook page and follow my blog, if you don't already.
Don't forget to visit the Cutting Cafe blog on July 7 to see what the rest of the design team did with the A-Z letter set.  Leave a comment and you could win 3 sets of your choice from The Cutting Cafe!
