Live Fast & Stay Pretty -- GD at Crafty Friends

Hello, and happy Saturday! Oddball Art Stamps is sponsoring the Crafty Friends Challenge blog this next weeks, and I'm guest designing, representing Oddball Art Stamps.  How fun is that?   The theme is "Girlie".  Easy and fun, right?  Especially using an Oddball Art Stamp Co. image.  There are LOTS of girlie ones!

I used image 167, Sweet Sai the Fairy,  to create this:

I colored Sai the Fairy (image 167), with Copic markers, using pastel, girlie colors.  The card base is a cutting file from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.   I used papers from Basic Grey.  The ribbon and lace are from 3 Girl JAM.  The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.  I used a Spellbinders scallop oval die to cut out the image.

I hope you can join the fun at Crafty Friends Challenge blog this next 2 weeks, entering the Girlie challenge.  There's great prizes to be won -- Oddball Art Stamps!  Yea!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Friends like You... for Polkadoodles

It's Friday, and it's time for a a new challenge at the Polkadoodles Challenge Blog.    Our theme this time is 'Lucky Green'.  Aha!  Perfect for the new, fun Polkadoodles Sticks and Bones Collection! Available in CD and Digital Download.

I thought a green dinosaur would make the perfect friendship card:

The papers, alphabet (spelling out 'Roar'), sentiment, and dinosaur are all from the Sticks & Bones collection.

I cut the card shape out on my Silhouette Cameo, from a design I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  I used a punch on the alphabets, and a die on the sentiment.  The heart is a Kraft sticker I found in my stash.   There's a bit of Timeless Twine to show off that dinosaur just a bit more.

I hope you can join in on our 'Lucky Green' challenge at Polkadoodle's Challenge Blog.  It will run for 2 weeks.  Please join our Polkadoodles Facebook group, too.  There's lots of fun and inspiration happening all the time!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Adventure Jamie & Maddie -- Coloring Without Boundaries

I'm so excited about this new undertaking, Coloring Without Boundaries!  Lacy Sunshine images, tutorials, and lots and lots of coloring!  I can't think of anything I enjoy more!  Today, I'm sharing the Lacy Sunshine digi, Adventure Jamie & Maddie.  I'll show you the finished colored image first, then take you through my coloring process, step by step.  I used Copic markers throughout.

First, skin -- I wanted Jamie's skin to be more ruddy than Maddie's.  I wanted Maddie to have that peaches and cream look to it.  With that in mind, here are the colors I used.  Jamie's skin -- E50, E53, E33.  Maddie's skin -- E000, E31, E21, R20.  Eyes -- I use as many colors in the eyes as I can fit in.  I think it adds depth.  Jamie's eyes -- E53, E55, W1.  Maddie's eyes -- B00, B24.

Next, I color the hair.  Jamie needed a hair color to match his pretty brown eyes.  Maddie needed a hair color to go with those vivid blue eyes.  Jamie's hair -- E31, E42, E44.  Maddie's hair -- E50, Y21, YR24

Skin & hair done.  On to the clothing and vine!

These 2 looked like they were on a safari-type adventure to me, so I colored their clothing in jungle colors.  I colored the vine with enough contrast that the viewer could distinguish vine from people.  Colors listed below.

Jamie's hat & jacket -- YG 91, YG93, YG95, YG97
Jamie's hat band -- YR21, YR24, YR27
Maddie's Jacket & hat band -- B32, B34, B37
Maddie's hat -- E93, E95, E97, E99
Vine -- YG21, YG23, YG25, E30, E31, E34
Flowers -- RV52, RV55, RV66
Jamie's pant -- E21, E23, E25
Jamie's belt -- E30, E31, E33
Buckle -- C1, C3
Jamie's boots -- BV20, BV23, BV25, C01, C03, C05
Maddie's pants -- YR20, YR24, YR27
Maddie's boots -- BV000, BV01, BV04, C01, C03, C05

I hope you join the Coloring Without Boundaries Facebook Group. Show us what you've been coloring!  I'd love to see it!  You'll want to visit the Lacy Sunshine blog frequently for tutorials and tips on coloring, including favorite color blends.  You're bound to learn while having fun!  What could be better!

My Horse - My Friend -- for The East Wind

It's Tuesday, which means there's a New Release at The East Wind. Every Tuesday, every Friday -- new releases.  Today is one of those new releases that just makes me happy.  This is Aurora 'Charlie'...

I colored Aurora 'Charlie' with Copic markers.  I've colored lots of people, but that horse was a challenge!

I used a die by Spellbinders to cut out the Aurora 'Charlie' image, but sponged the edges with Tim Holtz distress ink in Old Paper before I removed it from the die.  I used a die from Simon Says Stamp to make all the pink hearts behind the image.  The red hearts were on my work desk from various projects I've been working on. Designer paper on this card is from Close To My Heart.

There will be other versions of this new release shown in The East Wind Facebook group today, so join us there.

Please follow me on Instagram!  I'd also love to follow you back.

Thanks! -- for Crafty Sentiments

It's Tuesday, and every Tuesday starts a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog.   This week, our theme is 'Die Cuts &/or Punches'.

I have an absolutely adorable Crafty Sentiments rubber stamp that I worked with for this challenge.   This is Sing-a-long...

I colored the rubber stamp Sing-a-long with Copic markers.  I used a Sizzix die to cut out the card, including the image.  I used a heart punch for the hearts I added to the center step card.

I hope you can join our 'Die cuts &/or Punches' challenge this week at Crafty Sentiments.   There's great prizes to win, and I'd love to see what you create!

Light My Fire -- a tutorial for Digi Choosday

It's Tuesday, and that means it's Digi Choosday!  It's time for a new challenge over at the Digi Choosday Challenge Blog, AND it means there's a big discount code available for 24 hours only at the Polkadoodles store.  Take advantage!   Our theme at Digi Choosday, for the next 2 weeks, is "All You Need is Love."  Aw, just in time for Valentine's Day.

Today, I'm showcasing the new Sticks & Bones collection, (CD) , Digital Download) and showing how I use dies to make a card base, and use a die to ink the edges of my image.

First, arrange the die over the image. I colored this adorable image with Copic markers. Secure -- I use washi tape:

Using a sponge and distress ink, with the die in place, ink the edges of the image:

Gather supplies, choose papers, dies, sentiment, card base:

Fold card base in 2 (fold is on the left in the picture below), overlap folded edge slightly with die, and run everything through a die cutting machine.

Assemble the layers, embellish as desired:

This is going to be my husband's Valentine's Day card.  It's not traditional, but I think he'll like it!

Come join the Digi Choosday "All You Need is Love" Challenge going on for 2 weeks.  The "Anything But a Card" challenge goes on for another week, so there's still time to join us for that one, too. While you're joining in the fun, join our Digi Choosday Crafting Facebook group, too!

Happy Birthday Tu-Tu You -- for Great Impressions Stamps

It's the first Sunday of the month, which means it's time for a new challenge at Great Impressions Stamps Challenges.  Our theme for the next month is "Let's Celebrate"!  Yea!  Any celebration will do, and Great Impressions Stamps has LOTS of wonderful stamps that fit just about any occasion.

I'm always in need of birthday cards, so here's my celebratory entry:

How fun are those flamingos?  You have to love those tutus and the matching sentiment!  Who wouldn't love to get this card, right?

I used Tu Tu Flamingos (H268), and colored them with Copic markers.  The matching sentiment (and you have to have that!) is C479 (Happy Birthday Tu-Tu).

I constructed the card using various dies from Craftin' Desert Divas.  I found the flamingo background paper -- it's digital -- at Pixel Scrapper.

I hope you join in our Celebration challenge this month at Great Impressions Stamps.  We have a great prize package, and I'd love to see what you make!
