Happy Fall, Friend -- for Oddball Art

It's time for a little challenge reminder over on the Oddball Art blog.  Our Fall is in the Air challenge goes on for another 2 weeks, so there's plenty of time to enter.

I have a friend who loves owls, so I made this card with her in mind:

This adorable owl is Image 58 in the Oddball Art Etsy Store.  I colored it with Copic markers, then fussy cut it.

The fall colored paper used on this card is a digi paper found at Pixel Scrapper.   The card was cut out on my Silhouette with a design found in the Silhouette Design Store. The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.

I hope you join our "Fall is in the Air" challenge at Oddball Art.  Check out the rest of the design team's inspiration, then join us for the fun and prizes!

Just for You & Boo

I'm putting a couple cards up quick before the evening gets too busy.  I managed to squeeze these both in at the end of the month for progressive challenges.  First, for the Outlawz Progressive Challenge:

This image is from Nicecrane.  I was given it free because I participate in last month's challenge.  Thanks!  I colored her with Copics, then used a couple Spellbinders dies to cut her out.  The sentiment is part of a stamp set from Hot Off the Press.  All papers, including the DP, are from Close To My Heart. The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  It is part of the Celebrations Bundle.  I used my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper on this, too.

The second card will be entered in the Gerda Steiner Progressive Challenge.  I enjoy both these challenges very much, and try not to miss them.

This cute digi, Mouse on a Broom, was also a freebie, because I participate in last month's challenge.  I colored it with Copic markers, then used a variety of Lifestyle Crafts circle dies to make the card.  Papers are from Close To My Heart, the sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.

I'd like to enter these in the following challenges:

Under the Sea Christmas -- for Lacy Sunshine

Underwater and Christmas.  Do those 2 words go together? That was my thought when I heard that the Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog's theme this week was "Under the Sea".  But, these are challenge blogs, and we need to challenge ourselves.  So, I took a deep breath, and dove in...

This most adorable Lacy Sunshine digi is Shelby's Sea Mint.  I colored her with Copic markers, and had a great time mixing sea themes with Christmas colors.  Even a land locked Wisconsinite had a great time with this challenge!  Once I was done with the coloring, I used several Spellbinders dies to cut out the image and back it.  Papers for this card are from Echo Park.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  It's part of the Winter Bundle.

Come join us at Lacy Sunshine for our Under the Sea Christmas Challenge.  There are some wonderful images in the Lacy Sunshine store that work perfectly for this challenge.  Color one up, then link it up!

I {Heart} You

It's the last Saturday of the month, and we're starting a new challenge today at 3 Girl JAM. The challenge is always Anything Goes with Ribbon -- Easy, so join us this month!

Lacy Sunshine Stamps has the cutest images!  I'm in love with them, so I used another one today on this card.  They go with anything.  This is Jillian...

I colored Jillian with Copic markers, then used a Spellbinders circle die to cut her out, and another Spellbinders die behind that.  DP is from Basic Grey -- Knee Highs Collection.  I cut a label die in 1/2, and spaced it to fit behind the 2 Spellbinders cuts.

The jute ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  I love the texture it adds to a project! You can find the Jute Ribbon & String pack HERE.

Frugal Ribbonista -- for 3 Girl JAM

Are you as frugal as I am, saving scraps of paper and ribbon because they're too pretty to throw out? With ribbon, if it's an inch or less, I'm able to trash it, but longer than that, and I feel the need to keep it "just in case."  I have a project today that uses up scraps of ribbon.  I don't know about you, but it makes ME happy to find a home for some of those short ribbon pieces I've been hoarding :)

I found this tote bag cutting file in the Silhouette Design store.  It was perfect for what I was looking for.  I used some double sided paper from Close To My Heart.  To decorate the bag even more than that pretty butterfly, I tied some short pieces of 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon to both handles of the tote.  One piece was a bit longer, so I used that one to tie both handles together, and to make a bow.

Scraps of 3 Girl JAM ribbon, prettily decorating this bag.  Ah yes, it makes me very happy!

Ribbons used:  Sterling from the Celebrations Bundle and Peach and Mint from the Tie Dye 3 Bundle.

Tired of using your scraps? Need some of this wonderful ribbon, and other great 3 Girl JAM products for yourself? Use discount code JO10 for 10% off your entire order.  Or, take advantage of this month's ribbon special, getting the Bundle of the month for just $1 with purchase.

Don't forget about the current challenge going on on the 3 Girl JAM Challenge blog:  Anything Goes with Ribbon.  Come link up -- you have a few more days.

Heartfelt Thanks -- for Snapdragon Snippets

Julie here today from Muddy Paws and Inky Fingers. This is my last post for Snapdragon Snippets.  My second term with SDS ends today, and I decided not to stay on.  I've been with SDS and the sister team, SVG Attic for nearly 2 years now.  I've thoroughly enjoyed the ride!  For my final post, I've made 2 cards.  Both of them come straight from the heart:

This thank you card can be found in the Snapdragon Snippets Store.  It's the Acorn Window Elements A6 Card.  I used papers from Close To My Heart to give it an Autumn feel, since this is the first full day of Autumn.

The second card -

This SDS Heart Card Kit can be found in the Silhouette Design Store. The sentiment is a stamp from Craftin' Desert Divas Simply Said set. Papers are from Close To My Heart.

I want to thank you, my readers, all my team mates at Snapdragon Snippets, my team leader Gaby, and of course the company owners Mike and Kenzie for the wonderful experience I have had while being on this team.  As this card says -- heartfelt thanks!

Friendship Takes Dedication -- for Path of Positivity

It's time for some mid-month inspiration on the Path of Positivity Challenge blog. Our theme this month is Dedication.  Many things in life take dedication, but to keep a good friendship going for years takes true dedication.  The card I made to show today is in honor of a very good friend.  Our friendship has taken a lot of dedication to keep going, as she moved 3 hours away a few years ago.  We are, however, still BFF's.  Dedication, love, similar interests, and hard work has kept the friendship strong.

Our sponsor this month at Path of Positivity Challenge blog is Sparkle N Sprinkle
The image I used is Friendship Flowers digital stamp.  I colored it with Copic markers, then used various dies to cut it out. The sentiment comes as part of the Friendship Flowers set.  All papers are from Close To My Heart.  The sterling crinkle ribbon is 3 Girl JAM

Come join us this month at Path of Positivity Challenge blog for our Dedication challenge.  I'd love to see your take on 'dedication', and what you make!  You still have 2 more weeks to enter.

Getting Organized in a 6x6 way

I'm posting today for The Cutting Cafe, where the inspiration post this time is about File Folder Box holders.

I used the larger file folder box holder cutting file.  When made, it holds 6x6 paper pads.  Depending on the thickness of the pads, I got 6-8 of them in one box.

Since I could use a LOT of these to organize all the 6x6 papers I own, I started out making 3 of them.

Here's a close up of the Christmas file folder Box Holder:

Here's the everyday paper one:

Look closely at the sides of the boxes.  There are 4 different options, and I used 3 of them.

Here's the 3rd file folder box holder - for Halloween and Fall papers:

There's more that comes with these files than I used, there's dividers, tabs, pockets, all kinds of organizational things.  Check out the Cutting Cafe blog on Sept. 21 for many more ideas on how to use this versatile and VERY useful file folder box holder template and cutting file.  Leave a comment on that blog, and you could win 3 sets of your choice (choose this one!).

This is Girl on a Swing, and she's colored with Copic markers.  I used 2 sizes of a Spellbinders label die to cut her out and back it.

Backing paper and the sentiment are from Pink Paislee - Prairie Hill Collection.  Paper behind the image is from We R Memory Keepers.  I also used their scalloped corner chopper. The card base is Bazzill card stock.  There's Webster's Pages lace trim, and 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon on here.  Although it's hard to see in the picture, I also used a Spica glitter clear pen on the sun and the clip in her hair.

I am strong. For The East Wind

I have a New Release today for The East Wind.  Last week, I made a card, and I thought it was my all-time favorite TEW image.  Then, I colored up today's image.  Now, I have a new favorite.  It's the eyes!

This new release, called 'Untitled', was colored with Copic markers.  I used Die-namics oval cutting dies to cut out 'Untitled' and the sentiment.  The sentiment was found at Pixel Scrapper.  It's word art by Marisa Lerin.  Designer papers are from My Mind's Eye -- I think (they were in my scraps).  Glimmer trim is from Close To My Heart.

You're Awesome! A Tutorial

It's Friday, and that's awesome!  So are you, and so is the opportunity to post on the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations blog.
I have a short tutorial there today on one of my favorite techniques -- pleating ribbon.

First, the completed card:

This rubber stamp is part of the Warm Summer Days A6 Stamp Set.  I colored her with Copic markers and Lyra Rembrandt Polycore pencils.

For the ribbon technique -- below is everything I used -- card base, patterned paper, image, and sentiment.  There's double sided tape across the top of the card, and the ribbon that I'm going to pleat.

Maybe it's because I'm left-handed, but I found it easier to turn the card upside down and have the edge I was pleating closest to me.  I started at the outside edge (either one), and gather the ribbon, pinching it every 1/2 inch or so, sticking it the double sided tape as I go.  Be careful to keep it straight along the top.  It's easy to get going crooked if you're not paying attention.  Trust me, I've done this!

This is what it looks like after I've gotten started....
Once the ribbon get all the way across, cut it straight across the card edge with a sharp scissors.  Assemble your card, tie a bow, embellish as desired, and your card is complete! Awesome!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Ribbon Weaving for 3 Girl JAM

It's Thursday, and I'm posting today on the 3 Girl JAM blog.  I'm trying a technique today that I've been wanting to try for a long time -- ribbon weaving.  What do you think?

I cut the paper border that the ribbon is woven through out on my Silhouette.  The design is found in the Silhouette Design Store.

Since school recently started here where I live, I made this card for a young girl who spent her summer volunteering at the nursing home where I work.  The image is from Lacy Sunshine. She's Sarah Jane and Nibbles - Off To Study.  Her skin and hair was colored with Copic markers.  Everything else is colored with Lyra Rembrandt Polycore pencils.

The rustic colored crinkle ribbon, from 3 Girl JAM, is Barn Door, from the Rustic Country Bundle

If you want some scrumptious 3 Girl JAM products for yourself, use discount code JO10 at checkout for 10% off your entire order!  Or, take advantage of this month's ribbon special, getting the Bundle of the month for just $1 with purchase.

What do Fishing and Christmas have in Common?

I'm starting today's post out with a riddle.  What do fishing and Christmas have in common?  Snapdragon Snippets!  I have two cards today, both from Snapdragon Snippets, both with a trio theme.

The first one I made with my BFF in mind.  I'm going to give it to her to give to her husband, the fisherman -- he'll like it!

This is the Goldfish Trio A6 Card found in the Snapdragon Snippets Store.  You can find it here in the Silhouette Design Store. The papers are all from Close To My Heart.

The second card is a trio Christmas card:

This is the Trees Trio A7 Card, found in the Snapdragon Snippets Store.   Papers from this card are also from Close to My Heart.

Just for You -- and Path of Positivity

It's the first Monday of the month, so it's time for a new challenge at Path of Positivity Challenge Blog. Our theme this month is "Dedication."  Our wonderful sponsor this month is Sparkle N Sprinkle

Dedication -- the quality of being dedicated or committed to a task or purpose.  "his dedication to his duties"

When I think of Dedication, this comes to mind:

Few things are as dedicated and determined as a butterfly.  How can they migrate hundreds of miles when they are so delicate without being very dedicated to survival?  To me, a butterfly is the very definition of dedication.

This Sparkle N Sprinkle image is called "Nature's Butterfly." I colored it with Copic markers.  I used a Lifestyle Crafts circle die near the top of the card, and a Craftin' Desert Divas die for the sentiment.

I hope you join us this month at Path of Positivity Challenge blog for our Dedication theme.  I'd love to see your interpretation, and your creation.

One lucky person who comments on my blog will win the image I have used.
Good Luck.
Complete the hop to win lots of wonderful digis along the way!
