Je T'aime -- for Dies R Us Challenges

Hello, hello!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Are you enjoying May?  I think it's my favorite month of the year, but it's going way too fast!  In fact, we're 1/2 way through the month already.  May 15 -- not only is it the 1/2 way point for this beautiful month, it's also time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  This month, the challenges are anything goes!  Just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store.

I've had this set of dies for years, but have never used them.  I decided it was time!  Visiting Paris is on my bucket list, and I'd love to get there sooner than later.  We'll see.  In the meantime, I'll dream of traveling again, and make pretty cards:

This couple are enjoying the sights of Paris, while also enjoying each other's company and their very French dog.  What's more French than a French Poodle, after all? You could argue it should be a French Bulldog on the card, but a poodle die is what I have.

I made this card with dies from Crafter's Companion and Impression Obsession.  Both companies dies are available at the Dies R Us Store. The Paris dies from Crafter's Companion are part of the Parisian Collection.  They are the Je T'aime die set (couple on the bench and the poodle).  The Eiffel Tower is a die called "Purely Paris".  I used 2 products from Impression Obsession dies. The grass is 'Small Grass Border', cut twice and layered. The heart that I used for the sentiment is part of the Layered Hearts Trio die set.

I found the most appropriate papers for this card at We Are 3 Digital Shop. I used 2 papers from the Paris Cafe Collection. The sentiment is also from We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is part of the Heart Love sentiments set.

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks for the Anything Goes Challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog. There will be a gift certificate to the store awarded to one lucky winner, and 3 designer choice awards.

If you are one of our Canadian friends, check out the Didi Crafts Store for a great selection of crafty supplies and reasonable shipping rates.

Sweet December -- For Ching-Chou Kuik

It's Tuesday, and this is the day I am fortunate enough to be able to post on the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration & Challenge Blog.  We're about 1/2 way through this month's challenge.  The theme is Christmas or Winter.

For today's inspiration card, I used the beautiful Sweet December, colored with Copic markers.

That Christmas die is from Impression Obsession. I thought it would say 'Christmas' without having to use a sentiment.  The background paper and glitter paper are by Crafter's Companion.  The sweet deer die has been in my stash for so many years, I no longer know where he came from.

I hope you enjoyed today's inspiration.  I have 2 posts tomorrow, so please come back for another visit!

Autumn Lace Thank You -- for Ching-Chou Kuik

It's Tuesday, and this is my day to post on the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration & Challenge Blog. Last week, I used an image from the set, Hello Autumn.  Today, I'm using the same set, but a different image.

Here's one of the 3 images in Hello Autumn...

I colored Hello Autumn with Copic markers.  The leaf background is a die from Impression Obsession.  It makes a beautiful card front!  The sentiment is from Spellbinders.  The lace is from Webster's Pages, and the wooden die cut leaf is from my stash.

I hope you check the CCK Inspiration blog often to see all the great inspiration, and I'd love to see you linked up on the November challenge!  The theme is Thanksgiving/Remembrance/Thinking of you/or Thank you.

Haunted House -- for Dies R Us Challenges

It's October 1, the month of spooky cats, witches, trick-or-treaters, and of course, haunted houses, so when it came time to make a card for today's card at Dies R Us Challenges, I knew it had to have a Halloween theme.  You, however, can make anything you want.  Just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store. The challenge will run for the next 2 weeks.

I don't make many Halloween cards, and when I do, I don't want them to be too creepy or spooky.  I prefer the cute side of Halloween.  Today, though, I went with spooky...

This Haunted Manor is a Spellbinders Die. This exact die isn't available in the Dies R Us store, but if you search 'haunted house', you'll find some that are very close.  The bats are by Impression Obsession.  The hillside has a row of stitching on it.  It is hard to see cut out in black.  It is a die by Lawn Fawn. (Stitched Hillside Border Dies) The Boo!  Is one of my favorite Halloween sentiment dies.  It is also by Spellbinders. It is part of the Boo Web set.

The background paper on this card is by We Are 3 Digital Shop.  It is one of the Halloween Night papers. Some burnt orange Timeless Twine finished off the card.

I hope you can join our Anything Goes challenge at Dies R Us Challenges this next 2 weeks. We give away a gift certificate to the Dies R Us Store, and 3 designer choice awards each challenge.

Nautical Thanks -- for Dies R Us Challenges

It's the 15th of the month, and it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  The challenge will run for the next 2 weeks.  It is Anything Goes!  Just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store.  Easy, right?

I recently celebrated a birthday, and got some awesome gifts.  I needed some thank you cards to let those friends and family know their thoughtfulness was appreciated.  Since it's summer, I thought a nautical themed card would be appropriate:

The 'Thanks' word shaped die is by Crafter's Companion.  It cuts out the outline, then the letters (which are all connected).

I cut the letters out of a piece of Nautical paper from We Are 3 Digital Shop. I inked the edges with Colorbox Royal Blue Ink

Some of the ephemera were also cut out of Nautical paper, and were inked with Tim Holtz Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink.   The sailboats are dies from Impression Obsession. The other nautical ephemera is by Crafter's Companion

I hope you can join us at Dies R Us Challenges these next 2 weeks for our Anything Goes challenge.  Remember, just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store

For those of you in Canada, check out the awesome Didi Crafts Store for fantastic crafts supplies and great shipping rates.

Have a Spec-tacular Birthday! For Paper ala Mode Challenges

It's Saturday, and that's time for a new challenge at The Outlawz!  At Paper ala Mode Challenges, that is! The challenge will run for 2 weeks, and is once again sponsored by the awesome We Are 3 Digital Shop.  Woot Woot!  For the next 2 weeks, the challenge theme is "For the Boys".

Bonnie has so many incredible sentiments, digital printables and digital papers in her We Are 3 Digital Shop that fit this theme.  Take a visit and see what you can find, then join us at the Paper ala Mode Challenges

I'm a bird lover, so when I saw the fantastic owl in the Woodland Animals Printables, I knew exactly what I wanted to create for this challenge:

There are 4 printables in the Woodland Animals set, all of them work equally well for masculine projects.  The papers on this card are from the Trees Paper Collection.  The fun sentiment is from the Masculine Sentiment Set, printed on a tag from Impression Obsession.  I added the glasses to the owl with a set of dies from Impression Obsession, purchased at the Dies R Us Store

I hope you can join us for the Paper ala Mode challenge these next 2 weeks.  You could win a fantastic gift certificate from the We Are 3 Digital Shop

I Miss Seeing You -- For Dies R Us Challenges

It's the 15th of the month, and that means it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  Challenges are always Anything Goes, as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store

I've had this set of glasses dies by Impression Obsession for quite awhile, and I decided it was way past time that I did something creative with them. Here's what I made for this challenge:

I started out by inking my background with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks in Squeezed Lemonade, Kitsch Flamingo, and Peacock Feathers (all found in the Dies R Us Store).  Then, I cut out various layers of the card with a set of Stitched Scroll Frame dies from Frantic Stamper.  The sentiment was computer generated, and cut out with the smallest of the Scroll Frame dies. Then, I used 3 of the glasses dies by Impression Obsession as focal points on the card.

I hope you join us this next 2 weeks at Dies R Us Challenges. You could be the lucky winner of a gift certificate, or one of the designer choice recipients.

If you are a Canadian crafter, check out the Didi Crafts Store for great products and excellent shipping rates!

Easter Greetings -- For Dies R Us Challenges

April 1 -- it's a new month, and it's a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges. Our challenges are Anything Goes, as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store. They last 2 weeks, with the next one beginning the 15th of the month.

Since Easter is just around the corner, and I really like to send Easter cards, I took advantage of today's challenge to create one last Easter card:

This card uses an Expressions Interchangeable Butterfly Foliage Die from Crafter's Companion. You can interchange it with the sentiments "Happy Birthday" & "Happy thoughts".  Very cool concept! The adorable little bunny is part of the Impression Obsession Bunny Die Set. There are 3 small bunnies in this set.

The flowered background paper is from AMB Illustrations.

I hope you can join us the next 2 weeks at Dies R Us Challenges. You might be the lucky winner of a gift certificate, or one of the designer choice recipients.

If you are in Canada, check out the Didi Crafts Store for fantastic products and great shipping rates!

With All My Love -- For Dies R Us Challenges

February -- the month of love!  February first -- the start of a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  Challenges start on the 1st and the 15th of the month.  They are always Anything Goes, as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store. That's easy to do with all the brands sold in the Dies R Us Store

I wanted a card that centered around the theme of "Love" for my inspiration today.  Here's what I came up with:

The large sentiment die is from Tonic Studios.  It is not in stock, but you will find lots of different Love sentiments that would work for this.  The heart in the middle of the word 'Love' is from the Impression Obsession Hearts Set. I mounted the sentiment onto a Stitched Rectangle die from Lawn Fawn. The Doily Hearts are from Cheery Lynn.  They are called the Two of Hearts Doily Dies.

Papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are part of the Romantic Hearts collection

The Dies R Us Challenge Blog -- join us with any project you like!  Just make sure it uses a die sold in the Dies R Us Store. For our Canadian friends, there's the Didi Crafts Store option.

Give Thanks -- for Dies R Us Challenges

It's the start of another month already, and the start of a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  The theme for the next 2 weeks is Give Thanks (thank you, Thanksgiving).  I have much to be thankful for, and I'm forever needing thank you cards (isn't that a blessing?), so I took advantage of today's theme to create this:

That pretty doily that is really the focal point of this card is by Sue Wilson.  It is the Camilla Frame & Tag.  That beautiful butterfly is by Cheery Lynn.  I have a lot of butterflies in my collection, but no one makes them like Cheery Lynn. This is one of a set of 3, called Small Exotic Butterflies #2 with angel wings.  The 'Thanks' Sentiment is part of a Greeting Set by Impression Obsession. It is one of my go-to sets.

The Give Thanks challenge runs until Nov. 14, so you have plenty of time to enter!  Just use a die by a brand that is sold in the Dies R Us Store, and you are good to enter. If you are in Canada, check out of sister store, Didi's Crafts

You Make Life Sweet -- for The Outlawz Paper ala Mode

It's Saturday, and every other Saturday, a new challenge begins at the Outlawz Saturday Paper ala Mode Challenge. The challenge that begins today has a theme of "Fruit", and it will last for 2 weeks.  I love fruit!  Apples, pineapples, watermelon, how about a strawberry cone?

Bonnie, of We Are 3 Digital Shop, is the sponsor if this challenge and every Paper ala Mode challenge all year. This card uses Fruity papers. Itty Bitty- Sweet Sentiments, and Strawberry Cone.  It comes in both a pre-colored and a black & white version.  I used the pre-colored here, fussy cut it, and used some Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard on the strawberries. The die cut strawberries around the tag are by Impression Obsession, purchased from the Dies R Us Store. The oval stitched dies are from the Scrapping Cottage.

I hope you can join us this next two weeks for the Fruit themed challenge at The Outlawz Paper ala Mode!  I'd love to see your creations!

Good-bye Summer Challenge at Catch the Bug

It's Saturday, and that means there's a new challenge starting over at Catch the Bug challenges for Bugaboo Stamps.  Every Saturday, a new challenge begins.  Now that August is underway, summer is starting to wind down.  That's the theme of this week's challenge -- Goodbye Summer.  One last chance at those summer activities you haven't gotten enough of yet!

So, with the good-bye summer theme in mind, I thought, hmm?  What should I make for a card?  What way should I go?

When I think about summer, I think about not wanting to leave beaches and swimming behind, so...

This card uses Kidz Beach, colored with Copic markers, then fussy cut out.  She looks like she's missing the summer sun already, doesn't she?

The papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  I used 3 different paper collections on here.  The greenish tint paper is from the Burlap Beach Collection.  The Sand paper is from the Warm Sand collection.  And the pink boards are from the Exotic Seaside Collection

The Hello Summer sentiment is a die from Impression Obsession and the sun is a die from Crafter's Companion.

I hope you join us this week at Catch the Bug for our Good-bye Summer Challenge!  I'd love to see what you create, and we have the best prizes for you to win!

Tis Gingerbread Season -- A new Release for Bugaboo Stamps

It's Tuesday!  It's New Release day at Bugaboo Stamps!  Every Tuesday, you'll find a new release (or sometimes a re-release) that's 1/2 price for a week.  Today's new release will keep you motivated to make those Christmas cards coming.

Here's Gingerbread Christmas Pocket:

I colored Gingerbread Christmas Pocket with Copic markers, then fussy cut it. Those cookies look good enough to eat, don't they?

The papers I used on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop. They are the newly released Victorian Christmas papers

The 'Tis the Season sentiment die and the Christmas icons dies were all purchased at the Dies R Us Store. The sentiment is by Sue Wilson.  The Christmas icons are by Impression Obsession

You can see other fantastic ideas for this cute Gingerbread Christmas Pocket at the Catch the Bug Blog. Then, head to the Bugaboo Stamps Store to pick it up for 1/2 price!

Summer Hopscotch -- for All Dressed Up Stamps

It's July 1, and that means it's time for a new challenge over in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group.  The theme this month is "For the kidz" Wendy Burns has so many darling young child images in the All Dressed Up Etsy Shop that would work perfectly for this theme!

For this month's challenge, I used one of the newer releases, Hop Scotch. This takes me back to many happy hours of childhood fun:

I colored Hop Scotch with Copic markers.  The set of dies that I used to cut her out and back her no longer have a label on them, so I can't give the company credit.  The Hello Summer sentiment is from  Impression Obsession.  I use this set a lot.  It is the perfect size for a card. The small dotted paper was in my scraps -- again, I can't give credit.

I hope you can join our For the Kidz challenge in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group.  I'd love to see your creations!  There's also a challenge every month over on the All Dressed Up Blog.

Birthday Butterflies -- For Dies R Us Challenge Blog

A  new month - a new challenge! It's time for another one on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. Every 1st and 15th, you'll find challenges beginning on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog, and there is always a theme. Sometimes, like today, and for the next 2 weeks, the theme is any goes.  As long as you use a die from a brand sold in the Dies R Us Store, you can link up anything! Dies R Us sells over 50 brands of dies, so have at it!

Anything Goes -- I think they are my favorite themes, and why not?  I can make anything I want. I got out a set of dies from one of the favorite die companies sold at Dies R Us -- Birch Press Design, and made this:

This was created with the Flutter Layer Set.  It is no longer available, I there are some other fantastic Birch Press sets you might want to explore. There are 3 layers in the set, and this card's made with all 3 layers.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is part of 60 piece word and shadow set from Crafter's Companion.  If you put Happy Birthday in the "Search", you will find many sets that would work. The small butterfly in the upper right corner is one from a set by Impression Obsession.  I like it for its simplicity and small size.

The background paper on this card is by We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is fairly new to the shop. It is one of the Watercolor Strokes papers.

I hope you can join us this  next 2 weeks for our Anything Goes Challenge At Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  I'd love to see your creations, and there is a $10 gift certificate given away each time.  There's also Didi Crafts, the sister store of Dies R Us, located in Canadian!

Hello Summertime Fun! For Dies R Us Challenges

It's the 15th of the month, so it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges. Every challenge runs for 2 weeks, has a theme, and you need to use at least 1 die from a brand sold in the Dies R Us Store. Until June 30, the theme is Summertime Fun!  Woohoo!  Gotta love that theme!

I found some great dies to work with for today's summertime fun card:

The centerpiece of the card, that fun tubing girl, is an Impression Obsession die.  It comes with the female and a male version and it's called Tubers.    She's playing in waves that were made with Lawn Fawn Ocean Waves Border dies.  The sun is a die I had in my collection from Spellbinders, but this set by Sue Wilson would work really well.  The 'Hello Summer' sentiment is a 2-die set from Impression Obsession.

I hope you join the Summertime Fun challenge going on through June 30 at Dies R Us Challenges. A random $10 gift certificate will be awarded, and 3 designer choice awards.  Shop the Dies R Us Store for all your die cutting needs, and the Didi Crafts store if you are in Canada.

Oceans of Love -- for Dies R Us Challenge Blog

It's the first of the month, so there's a new challenge starting today on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. For the next 2 weeks, the theme is "Seas the Day" (water themed).  We'd love to see any project with a water or beach theme, made with a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store

I haven't done any paper piecing in awhile, so I thought it was time for bit on today's Seas the Day themed card:

I started with the lighthouse die from Die-versions.  I cut it out twice.  Once in the grey buffalo plaid paper from We Are 3 Digital Shop, and one in the Blue Pastel Burlap paper, also from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  The sun is from a Spellbinders set, but just about any sun die would work, including this set from Impression Obsession. The seagulls are in a Lighthouse set from Elizabeth Craft Designs. They, and the torn paper "sand" were made with the same paper as the light house.  It is part of the Plaids Stripes Neutrals collection at We Are 3 Digital Shop.  The sentiment, also from We Are 3 is one of the Mermaid Wishes sentiments, and it's printed on Pastel Burlap paper in orange, and cut out with a Nellie's multi frame die that I purchased as part of a European Die weekend sale.

There are other great project from the Dies R Us Challenge team that I hope you take time to study and enjoy, and I hope they inspire you to create a water-themed project of your own. One $10 gift certificate will be awarded and 3 designer choice awards.

.Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Birthday Butterfly -- for Lavinia World Challenges

It's time for challenge #10 at Lavinia World Challenges!  These 2 weeks go so fast, but I don't lose my enthusiasm for these incredible Lavinia stamps and papers found in the Lavinia World Store

First, a few guidelines: Challenges are Anything Goes, as long as you use an acrylic or rubber stamp.  Lavinia Stamps are not a requirement, however, we love to see them! You can win a prize of a gift certificate to the Lavinia World store, based in the US. There are also some Honorable Mention entries for each challenge.

I wanted to make a birthday card, with an Autumn color scheme.  Here's what I created for today's challenge:

I used the Lavinia Stamps, Zen Butterfly on this card.  I stamped it using Versafine Clair ink in Paradise, then heat set it using clear embossing powder.  I repeated this 3 times, making it so it looked like there were Zen Butterflies flying off the paper.  After I got the stamping and embossing done, I got busy inking.  I used a variety of Tim Holtz Distress inks to achieve this effect.

A piece of designer paper, a "Happy Birthday" die, a card base, and the card was complete.

Join us this next 2 weeks at the Lavinia World Challenges.  Uses a Lavinia Stamp and you'll double your chances of winning the Designer's Choice Award, and the $15 gift certificate!

Just Sailing By....for Scrapy Land Challenges

It's the 3rd Wednesday in September, and we're starting a new challenge today over at the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog. We've started switching things up a bit, and we're now giving away one $15 gift certificate chosen by Random.org.  The design team chooses top 3 and honorable mentions.

I often like cards without too much "clutter".  I want the image to make a statement, so I keep them pretty simple.  I don't want the viewer's eye to get lost looking for the message in the card.  Today's card is a case in point.  Clean and simple, and to the point:

There's just one die on here, but it makes an impact, doesn't it?  The Scrapy Land Store sells 7 different sailboat dies.  This one is by Impression Obsession.  I like the clean lines of it.  It's called Sailboats, and there are 3 dies in the set.  This is the biggest die in the set.

The papers on this card are from the We Are 3 Digital Shop.  I thought it needed some nautical themed papers.  I computer generated the sentiment, then glued that sailboat at the edge so it could sail right off the card.

Scrapy Land products used on this card:

I hope you are able to join us at the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog.  Our challenges are Anything Goes, as long as you use a die found in the Scrapy Land Store.  Scrapy Land sells many brands of dies, so chances are, you already own one!  Make something and link up!  I'd love to see what you create!

Summer Flip Flops

I'm posting today for the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog.  I love the days I post on the Dies R Us Blog.  I usually color all my projects, so it's a great break to create with dies.

Summer is fast losing it's heat here in the Northland where I live, so I am clinging to every day that remains!  That is what made me create this summertime card -- summer flip flops!

The Dies R Us Store has many cute flip flops that would work on this card.  Just put in flip flops in the search engine and see what comes up.  I liked these from Cheapo Dies.  I think they would be great for a patriotic themed project, so I know I'll be using them again.

Here's a picture of the supplies I used on this card:

I had the idea in my head, but it took a lot of playing to get the shades of paper that were either bright enough of dark enough to show up the way I wanted them.  I backed everything with Stick It Adhesive Sheets. If you haven't tried Stick It, I highly recommend it.  It works great on small things, like words, and intricate things, like the Flip Flops. Just peel off the sticky layer, place it on the back of your paper, die cut your project, then peel off a second time to reveal the glue.  It's very easy to use and you can cut it to the exact size you need!

The sentiment was created with the Impression Obsession die, Hello Summer.  This has been my go-to die for summertime projects.  The words are a great size!  I love this die!

I used 2 dies from the Memory Box Wrapped Stitch Rectangles to mat and back the Flip Flops

Here are photos and links of the products used in the Dies R Us Store:

The flip flop paper and textured paper on this card are both digital.  They were made by Decosse's Dynamite Doodles, and are part of her Taste of Summer kit.
Have you heard about the Design Team call for the Dies R Us Inspiration team?  This is a wonderful team to be on!  You can find all the details here
