Spoooky! For The Paper Shelter

Boo!  Read on to see one of the few Halloween cards I've made and posted this spooky season.  It's The Paper Shelter's challenge #614.  The theme is Halloween or Halloween colors.  It's starts today and runs for a week.

There are many wonder The Paper Shelter Halloween images in the TPS Store

I created my card this week with the super cute Halloween image, Spoooky!

I colored Spoooky! with Copic markers, then fussy cut the cutie out.  The purple background paper that looked like I spent hours making with various mixed media techniques is actually an 8x8 pice of designer paper from Crafter's Companion.  The die cut bats are from Crafter's Companion also.

I used stitched oval dies from The Scrappin' Cottage.  I cut the largest oval out of the card base (card stock from Taylored Expressions).  I found a matching orange color (card stock from Concord & Ninth) and made the lighter orange frame, then glued this to the oval card front.  Lastly, I taped a 5 1/4 x 4 inch piece of the purple paper to the inside of the base.  The card front was constructed.

The finishing touches included popping the Spoooky! image up on foam tape, taking it to the inside of the oval, die cutting and attaching the 3 bats, and adding foam tape to the sentiment (from Waffle Flower) and adding it to the lower left corner.

I hope you like my Spooky card and are inspired to enter the Halloween challenge at The Paper Shelter this week. Here's a graphic explaining the prizes.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Giraffes on Holidays -- for The Paper Shelter Challenges

It's Wednesday, and that means a new challenge is starting today at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. Every Wednesday, a new challenge begins.  If you use a Paper Shelter image, and you're the lucky winner of the challenge, you'll win a $30 gift certificate to the Paper Shelter Store.  Use any other image, and you'll get 3 images of your choice from the Paper Shelter Store. We have a very easy theme this week.  We just want you to use a digital image.  Of course, we'd love it if the digital image was from The Paper Shelter!

It's almost Halloween!  So, when choosing a digital image for today's challenge, I searched The Paper Shelter store for Halloween themed images and found LOTS of them!  It was hard to choose just one to use for today's 'Digital Image' challenge.  However, this one, particularly charmed me.  It's called Giraffes on Holidays, and I used the Halloween image from the set.

I colored Giraffes on Holidays (there are 4 images in the set) with Copic markers.  Isn't he just so cute?  I wonder how long it took him to get his costume ready for his evening of Trick-or-Treating?

I used digital papers from We Are 3 Digital Shop on this card, and the sentiment is from We Are 3, also. The background paper is from the Moody Nights paper collection. The sentiment is printed on one of the Inky Textures papers. The sentiment is part of the Halloween Wishes Sentiment Set.

The card base is part of a set of slimline dies by LDRS Creative. The elongated oval die is by Spellbinders, and the spooky garland is from The Scrapping Cottage.

I hope you can join us this week (and every week) at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. We Have such great digis that you can win, and I'd love to see what you create!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Crafting Happiness Challenge -- use any of the following colors: purple, orange, green, black

Wild about Fall --for All Dressed Up Stamps

October 1 (wow!), and that means it's time for a new challenge in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook Challenge.  The challenge will run all month, and the theme is Autumn &/or Halloween.  You must use an All Dressed Up Stamps image to enter the challenge.  You'll find many wonderful images that fit the theme in the All Dressed Up Stamps Etsy Shop.

I used one of the Three Little Autumn Girls for the card I created for the challenge:

I colored the Three Little Autumn Girls with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. The background slimline die is by Diamond press.  The word dies are from Spellbinders (wild about) and The Scrapping Cottage (Fall).  I finished the card off with a spot of twine from Timeless Twine.

I hope you can join us in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook Group for our Autumn &/or Halloween challenge. I'd love to see what you create, and you could win some wonderful digital images -- like this one!

Floral Thanks -- For The Paper Shelter

It's Wednesday, and there's a new challenge starting over at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. The theme this week is "Colour It".  Any hand colored image will qualify you to link up to the challenge! The challenge will run for 1 week.

The Paper Shelter has such wonderful images, and so much variety!  Truly, there is something for everyone!  Every file purchased comes with a black & white image, and pre-colored image, digital paper, and a composition.  They are so fun to create with!

I've been enjoying watercolors lately, and flowers lend themselves well to that medium, so for today's Colour It theme, I used Wild Rose, colored with watercolor pencils:

I got out my Prismacolor watercolor pencils for this, coloring the image, then dampening it with a paintbrush.

I've also jumped on the slimline card bandwagon, and thought this image lent itself well to a slimline card.  After coloring Wild Rose, I cut it out with a cross stitch oval die by The Scrapping Cottage.

The slimline dies are by Anna Griffin.  The designer papers are by Crafter's Companion.  The bee is a die I've had for so long, I no longer remember who it's by.  I think it's a freebie from a magazine.  I computer generated the sentiment and cut it out twice with a die from Crafter's Companion.

I hope you join us this week at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog for our Colour It Challenge. If you use a Paper Shelter image, and are the lucky winner of the challenge, you'll get a $30 gift certificate. Use any other image, and the prize is any 3 images from The Paper Shelter Store.  Awesome prizes!

Field of Flowers -- For Bugaboo Stamps

It's Friday -- and that means it's Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps! You'll find the link to this week's freebie, plus awesome inspiration, over on the Catch the Bug Blog

Today's image is part of a set called Mini Set - Flowers, in case you miss the freebie, but still want the design. There are 7 flower designs in the set, including this one:

I colored Mini Set - Flowers with Copic markers. I cut it out with a square stitched die from The Scrapping Cottage, and cut out the same die in a pearlescent yardstick for some contrast.  I computer generated the sentiment right into the stamp design.  The background paper is from my stash.   The flowers are from Prima.

That's my inspiration with today's freebie, Mini Set - Flowers.  Visit the Catch the Bug Blog for awesome inspiration, and a new Stella Says Sketch Challenge beginning on Sunday.

I colored Travel At Your own Pace with Copic markers, then used a wonky stitched die by The Scrapping Cottage to cut it out.

The Tender Angie -- For Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration & Challenge Blog

It's Tuesday, and it's my day to post on the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration & Challenge Blog.  A new challenge is just getting underway, with the monthly theme of Magical World (fairies, mermaids, unicorns, dryads).

I had not yet had the opportunity to color one of Ching-Chou Kuik's wonderful mermaids, so I took advantage of this month's challenge  theme to do just that!  Here is The Tender Angie:

You can find The Tender Angie and all the wonderful digital images in the Ching-Chou Kuik Etsy Shop.

I colored The Tender Angie with Copic markers, then set about finding papers and a sentiment.  I found both in the We Are 3 Digital Shop.  The waves were created with Under the Sea papers and Lawn Fawn wavy dies.  The sentiment is one of the Mermaid Wishes Sentiments

I hope you can join us over on the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration & Challenge Blog this month for our Magical World Challenge!  I'd love to see what you create & we've got great prize you could win -- like this The Tender Angie!

Charming Spring Girl

Happy Thursday, Happy Spring!  This is my 2nd post today, but I don't want to waste anytime getting this up.  While writing a post for an upcoming challenge sponsored by The Paper Shelter today (thank you!), I discovered they are having a DT call.  This is a really big deal as I don't remember the last time they had a call!  The bad news is I discovered it today, and the call ends today.  Well, in-between taking a friend to get her first Covid vaccine and some other commitments, I colored up one of the many Paper Shelter images in my collection, and made it into a card.  I love The Paper Shelter! Their images come with a black & white version, a pre-colored version, background paper, and a composition of a colored image and papers together.  This version is very easy to make into a quick card.

I colored up the darling Charming Spring Girl and created this:

I colored Charming Spring Girl with Copic markers.  She looks like she doesn't know whether to laugh or scream at that bird, doesn't she?  Ah spring, it's full of surprises!

The background die on this card is by Tutti Designs.  The Stitched oval die she is sitting on is by The Scrapping Cottage.  The floral background paper is by Crafter's Companion.  I computer generated the sentiment and cut it out with a sentiment die by Crafter's Companion.

I'll be linking this up shortly with the Paper Shelter's DT call and the following challenges:

Birthday Hedghog -- for Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends

Lil'Patch of Crafty Friends Challenge Blog is having a birthday!  The blog has been in existence for another year, and we're celebrating with a special challenge!  The challenge this month will still be Anything Goes, it still has 2 awesome sponsors, but we're having 2 winners for our birthday celebration!  Aren't birthdays fun?!?

One of our sponsors this month is Createful Heart Designs.  You'll find many great images in the shop!  I found at adorable hedgehog that I thought would make a cute birthday card -- perfect for our birthday celebration:

This image is Hettie's Daisy, colored with Copic markers.  I cut out Hettie's Daisy with a wonky stitched oval die by The Scrapping Cottage.  The papers on this card are from Crafter's Companion, as is the Happy Birthday stamp and banner.  I plan to mail this card out so I kept it flat and free of embellishments.

Createful Heart Design is an awesome sponsor for this challenge, and I thank them for their generosity!

Cardinal Noel -- For Ching-Chou Kuik Digital Stamps

It's Monday, and this is my day to post for the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration & Challenge Blog.  I feel so privileged to have the opportunity to work with these gorgeous works of art!

Today is the first time I'm using one of Ching-Chou Kuik's greyscale images.  I have to admit to being intimidated by it.  I wasn't sure what medium to use with it.  I originally thought I'd use watercolor, then decided at the last minute to go with colored pencils.  They are never my strong suit, so I'm not sure what possessed me, but I'm laying my soul bare here!

Here's Greyscale Cardinal:

I think it was the fact that there was so much real estate to color that intimidated me so much.  The cardinals were the easy part!  It was choosing colors and filling in all the rest of it that was the tough part for me!  But here it is.  After all is said and done, I will go for another greyscale image at some point.

The pretty paper behind the Greyscale Cardinal  is from We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is one of the Fairy Holiday papers.  The "Noel" sentiment is from The Scrapping Cottage.

I hope you join in on the "Happy" Challenge at Ching-Chou Kuik.  For another challenge, and more inspiration, check out the CCK Facebook group

Life is Good When You're a Princess

It's Wednesday today, and on the Catch the Bug Blog, we are celebrating humorous holidays for Humor Me Wednesday.  Every Wednesday, we celebrate the quirky, obscure, but definitely worth making a note of days of the year!  For instance, did you know that today is Princess Day?  I for one, think I deserve to be treated like a princess everyday, but today is my day!

There are a number of princess images in the Bugaboo Stamps Store, but I found this pre-colored image that I decided to start with: AKV Princess:

I printed the pre-printed AKV Princess image, then enhanced her with Prismacolor pencils.  I cut her out with a wonky stitched die from The Scrapping Cottage.  The pretty designer papers on this card are from Crafter's Companion.

So, what other holidays are being celebrated today?  Check out Catch the Bug to find out!

You Make Life Sweet -- for The Outlawz Paper ala Mode

It's Saturday, and every other Saturday, a new challenge begins at the Outlawz Saturday Paper ala Mode Challenge. The challenge that begins today has a theme of "Fruit", and it will last for 2 weeks.  I love fruit!  Apples, pineapples, watermelon, how about a strawberry cone?

Bonnie, of We Are 3 Digital Shop, is the sponsor if this challenge and every Paper ala Mode challenge all year. This card uses Fruity papers. Itty Bitty- Sweet Sentiments, and Strawberry Cone.  It comes in both a pre-colored and a black & white version.  I used the pre-colored here, fussy cut it, and used some Nuvo Glitter Drops in White Blizzard on the strawberries. The die cut strawberries around the tag are by Impression Obsession, purchased from the Dies R Us Store. The oval stitched dies are from the Scrapping Cottage.

I hope you can join us this next two weeks for the Fruit themed challenge at The Outlawz Paper ala Mode!  I'd love to see your creations!
