It's my first post for Silhouette Challenges blog and I couldn't be more excited to be here! This is a great group of ladies working very hard to make this fairly new challenge blog a success. If you are like challenges and have a Silhouette, PLEASE play along! And if you need any help learning how, there's tons of help to be found from any of these ladies on the design team. They are the BEST!
This month's challenge is Print and Cut. Hmm. Well. I had never used that feature on my Silhouette before, so you see, already I'm learning. So, with some help from fellow DT members, and using this tutorial from Joy of Joy's Life (she's another of my bosses. I work on her design team), I've figured out the basics of P&C. I've got more to learn, obviously, and more ideas to try out swirling around in this brain of mine for a day with a little spare time, but for now, here's my print and cut project for Silhouette Challenges:
I used white American Crafts cardstock. Everything is print and cut except for the sentiment. The "Hello, Sunshine" is a stamp from the Joy's Life Pun in the Sun stamp set.
That's it for this post. I also have a masculine card posted today, and it's on Joy's Life, too. Now hurry off to make something for our Print and Cut challenge! You have until June 30. Have fun!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
D.L. Art Thursday Linky Party-- anything goes
Sister Act Card Challenge -- anything goes
I have this blog as a place to share my creative self -- be it card making, music playing, scrapbooking, altered art, home decor, or whatever direction my art takes me. My dogs are always a part of my home life, so they have to be a part of my blog, too.

Hawg Heaven for FWF
It's Tuesday evening and I'm writing my FWF post, scheduling it to go live Friday at midnight. I'm leaving early Wednesday morning, heading across the state with my 3 Goldens, going on a road trip to see my BFF. I hope to use her computer Friday morning to link up my FWF post before I head back home on Friday.
My husband bought a new Harley yesterday. This is his second one. I must ask, when do you have enough Harley's? He went through a mid-life crisis at 45, got his motorcycle license, bought a motorcycle, and shortly traded up to a Harley, then a bigger Harley. I thought we were done. Silly me. They built the bike of his dreams this year. But he couldn't trade his other Harley. IT'S his baby. Well, if any of you have men with big toys, I'm guessing you can relate to this story. And, you may be wondering why I'm sharing it and where I'm going with it. His boss gave him the afternoon off yesterday so he could go buy his new bike, then RIDE it for the rest of the afternoon. It was the first sunny, relatively warm day we've had in weeks, so he treasured every moment of it, riding his NEW dream bike. The last bike he'll ever need. Until the next dream bike comes along.
So, this evening, in the midst of packing, I whipped together a thank you card for his boss -- also a motorcycle rider. And, here it is:
I used the Unity set called "Hawg" to stamp the bike. The "thanks" sentiment is a Close To My Heart set. I used Basic Grey PBJ 12x12 papers for the card. The sky blue base of the card is CTMH. I stamped using CTMH Pacifica ink. Lifestyle Crafts circle cutters were used.
And, it's time to get back to packing! Those dogs need food while we're gone.

What's More Vintage than a 50's car?
The theme this week over at the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge is Vintage. I thought about this long and hard. Which way to go? A vintage woman in long, flowing gown, old fashioned looking papers, plenty of lace? Or, something fun and bright? Maybe it's all the rainy weather we've been having, but I wanted fun and bright, so I went with a vintage car themed project.
I used two Whimsical Designs stamp sets on this card -- Everyday Sentiments for the license plate "Woo! Hoo!" - so cute! (maybe I should get that on MY license plate)
and the Whimsical Fun vol. 1 stamp set for the "live out loud" sentiment. It's perfect for the grill of this hotrod, don't you think? I cut this car out on my Silhouette. The file is from the Silhouette store, found here. I used Echo Park Happy Day's papers in both 12x12 and 6x6. The heart shaped bling is from my stash.
That's it for me, but please, spend some time on the Whimsical Designs blog leaving a comment, then visit my design team sisters. They're an amazing group of ladies and I am VERY proud to be a part of this team!

Whimsical Designs team -- here I COME!
Happy Monday, everyone! This is going to be the shortest work week in history for me. I work today and Saturday, with Tuesday-Friday off. The 3 dogs and I are off on a road trip to my BFF's! Woohoo! Can't WAIT!
And, speaking of WOOHOO! I have a new design team assignment to share with you! If you follow my blog at all, by now you know how much I love to stamp. I applied for the Whimsical Designs team, and was CHOSEN! YES! So ExCiTed!
Today's the day it becomes official, and I can finally "spill the beans", as the saying goes.
Each Wednesday, on the Whimsical Designs blog, there is a challenge, called Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. This week's challenge theme is "recycling". I made a project for the challenge so I can enter, too.
I used Whimsical Design's "Whimsical Fun-Vol. 1" for the "Oh Happy Day" sentiment on this. The clip is recycled from some papers I got at work. They make excellent picture holders, too. I used various ribbons -- Basic Grey Cupcake fibers, 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon, and some other bits and pieces from my stash. I stamped the image with Hero Arts neon ink -- my new favorite. The piece of paper covering the clip was laying on my craft desk. I don't know what company it is from.
I'll be back with another Whimsical Design project next Wednesday for the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge. This is truly an "Oh Happy Day" for me!

Happy Saturday All That Stickles fans! We're in the middle of the turquoise linky party and it's my day to share a little inspiration over on the All That Stickles blog. I had so much fun making this card featuring turquoise Stickles.
I used turquoise Stickles on the big flower and on the ribbon, there's Star Dust Stickles on the smaller flower. The silk ribbon started out white and so did the largest flower. I dyed them to match with Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers distress ink and turquoise Stickles. Pretty cool, hunh?!? Love how they match the one girl's dress.
And, speaking of girls, they are a Unity/Phyllis Harris stamp, "The Heart of a BFF". The sentiment is from Mama Elephant Stamps. I stamped the girls on Cryogen paper with Memento black ink and colored them with Copic markers. I used some Creative Inspirations paints in Fairy Dust on the girls' dresses to make them shimmer.
The card is 6 1/2 x 5 inches. I used Fancy Pants Park Bench 12x12 papers. The flowers are Close To My Heart. The brad is a My Mind's Eye Indie Chic.
I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Since this is a National Repeat Day Hop, I made two projects, both with a common theme.
I used the Get Inky Stamps Buzzing Bees set on both these cards.
My husband thinks the bee looks like he's coming out of the clouds. One of my favorite techniques for making a stamp look like it has movement is to this technique -- stamping repeatedly. Since it's a repeat hop, I had to use this technique. I used alcohol inks and an air can to create the background on glossy cardstock.
This second card also uses the same stamp set, alcohol inks, and stamping technique:
Again, with repeated stamping, the bee looks like it's flying across the page. I blotted different alcohol inks on this background. They were softer colors and the blotting made for a different effect. The chipboard is from my friend DeeDee. You can find it here at UmWow Studio. You want this stuff! It is so much fun! I also used another of my favorite products, Trendy Twine.
And of course we have blog candy! To be eligible to win, you must:

There's a new challenge blog that goes live today, and I'm so excited to be a part of it. I love a good challenge. I'm competitive by nature, so challenges and I get along well. But, I'm also kind and helpful by nature, so finding a caring, nurturing group of ladies is fun. I found a perfect fit with the Craft Lovin' Challenge Blog. This blog, hosted by Tabitha's Designs and the Craft Channel is sure to be a popular one. Our first challenge is Father's Day. Link up anything -- card, layout, altered project, home décor, as long as it has something to do with Father's Day.
Here's what I made for some inspiration for you:
Isn't he a stud? Yeah, Mr. Fix it is perfect for Father's Day. My father was a carpenter and an all around fixer upper, so I suspect this card is heading his way. All the designer papers, including the fun tools background paper is by Tabitha's Designs.
The stamp is from Unity/Angie Blom and is called "Alex Guy". He's stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copic markers on Cryogen paper.I used an angle Corner Chomper throughout the card. The red bling is from my stash. I hope you enjoy this card.
Now, hurry, enter your own Father's Day projects -- you have two weeks before the next challenge starts. It's going to be sooooo much fun!! There are GREAT prizes to be won!
I'm entering the card in the following challenges:
Craft Lovin' Challenge Blog -- Father's Day challenge
