Happy Birthday, Jack!

Yea! I made it through Easter! All those rehearsals and church services are finally over -- just in time to go back to work -- the life of a church organist that works full-time, LOL.
My best friend's Golden Retriever, Jack, turns 1 today.  I won't have a chance to celebrate the event until next week because we live 3 hours apart, but I did make a little something to honor the event.
This week, at The Cutting Cafe, the design team had 3 choice of files to work with:

I chose the Alphabetic Window Card Tops.  Using the set, and the Fun with Blocks cutting file, I made this gift for Jack and my BFF, Sheri:
Here's one side of the blocks:

and, in honor of her other Golden Retriever:

These blocks are so fun to make and use for home decor pieces.  I've had these sitting on a 1/2 wall near our kitchen and my husband and I are often re-arranging them, just for kicks.
The dog beside a couple of the pictures was carved by a woman who's husband was in our nursing home for awhile.  She made many carved ornaments and gave them to the staff at Christmas.  I leave this cute dog out year-round.
Papers for this project are by BoBunny.  The heart paw print and the bone were found at the Silhouette Online Store.
Here's to many happy years for Jack.  These will be delivered next week when we get together for "Girl's Week."
Make sure you visit the Cutting Cafe blog on Thursday to see the other inspiration from this talented design team.  Leave a comment and you can win 3 sets of your choice from The Cutting Cafe. Yea!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Crafty bloggers Network -- diecut or embossing
Cutie Pie Challenge -- Anything but a Card
Unstampabelles -- incorporate animal or bird (pawprint)

  1. I hope that your Easter was as blessed as it was busy, Julie. You handle so many things with such grace! What a fantastic gift for Jack. I think it's so awesome that you ladies take time out to be together and how cool that your furry family members are included. Enjoy your certainly deserve it!

  2. Oh Julie! This is so GREAT. What a cool idea and so perfect for my Golden family. THANK YOU!

Can't wait to gather for our Spring Fling! You are such a precious friend and I treasure you, your many talents and, as Donna mentioned, your abundance of GRACE. Love & Hugs Jack, Too & Sheri

  3. ackkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk LOVE IT LOVE

  4. Thank you for sharing at Cutie Pies - sadly this does not meet the challenge which is anything but a card with easter bunnies but you still have time to enter if you wish. x Susan x

  5. This is an amazing project but sadly I am not sure it fits our challenge at Unstampabelles either Julie. It was to incorporate an animal or a bird and while this is all about Jack the retriever, and has a pawprint, I don't really think it is in the spirit of the challenge. We would be pleased to see you produce another project for us that fitted the challenge at Unstampabelles.

  6. What a bunch of cute, funkie blocks! I love them! And 'specially like the story behind the carved pooch!

  7. Thanks for joining in at Unstampabelles. This isn't pastel though.

  8. how cute! these blocks are just so much fun!
