Back to School -- with Joy's Life

It's time for school here in my town, and it's also the start of my 2nd term with the Joy's Life design team.  We've got some great Fall/Winter ideas coming up, so stay tuned!
I'm also starting on the Cutting Cafe design team, and I think these two teams are going to compliment each other brilliantly.  Today is the perfect example!

Isn't this Bus-shaped card fun? It's from The Cutting Café.  And, of course, this sentiment from the Joy's Life stamp set, Punny Animals, works perfectly on this card.

I used Echo Park Dots and Stripes DP on this card, along with Close To My Heart Whisper and Black card stock. The sentiment is stamped in CTMH black ink. The card was cut out using my Silhouette Cameo. CTMH journal pens are used for the black faux stitching, and a white gel pen for the white faux stitching.
Wouldn't it be fun to tuck in a lunch box on the first day of school, or leave on your favorite teacher's desk?
I'll be back tomorrow for my first official Cutting Café design team project.  I'd love it if you stopped by for another visit!

Well, dog-gone it!

We've "gone to the dogs" this week with the Joy's Life design team.
My husband and I are deliberating whether or not to add another dog to our house, so this card seems most appropriate right now:

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out this fun card, found in the Silhouette store here, and the Joy's Life Stamp set, Punny Animals. There are so dog-gone many cute sentiments included with this set!

I also used papers from Echo Park's "Walk in the Park" 12x12 collection.  It somehow seemed appropriate for a dog card, don't you think? The bling on the eye is from Close To My Heart.
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope it's a dog-gone good one for you.

Friends OWLways for Joy's Life design team

Is it Saturday already? Why is it when you're on vacation the week flies by?  Life! It's hard to explain sometimes.
We're having a 'friend shaped' theme on the Joy's Life design team blog this week.  I like all things owls, so decided to make an owl shaped card for my project:

I purchased this owl file from The Cutting Café. It worked perfectly for the Joy's Life stamp!  I used the Joy's Life stamp set "Punny Animals", available, along with many other fun sets, in the Joy's Life store.

My Mind's Eye Indie Chic 6x6 papers were used for this card. I hope you enjoyed it!  Check out the rest of the design team projects each day on the Joy's Life design team blog.

Puppies are the BEST!

I have a post today on the Joy's Life DT blog.  It was one of the funnest projects I've done in a long time, because it was a gift for a couple friends.  Both of them just got new puppies.  We got together last Sunday evening to meet the new puppies and to introduce the pups to each other.  Loads of energy, lots of fun!!
I thought treat boxes full of puppy biscuits would be the perfect gift for them, so here's what I created:

These boxes were made using my Silhouette Cameo.  I used the Joy's Life Punny Animal Stamp Set. This set is a favorite -- lots of punny things on this one!

Here's some more views of the boxes so you can see the stamping better:

I used some pet papers I have had around forever!  The top photo uses paper by KI Memories (Pet Shop Paws)and the bottom one is We R Memory Keepers Friends Furever.
I'll leave you with one more view:
My husband and I have an all-day Harley ride planned for today.  I'm hoping for ideal weather and no call from the nursing home where my father is so we can truly get away.  Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Hap-Bee to be here!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  I hope it's truly spring where you are.  We're looking like it's for real here in NW WI.  The leaves are budding out on the trees, birds are building nests and singing their hearts out, and the wildflowers are beginning to bloom.  It's my favorite time of year!

I'm so happy to be posting today! It's my first post for the Joy's Life Stamps design team! Yea!  You can find today's post here. It's a great blog to visit everyday, with some awesome inspiration from a talented team!

My card for today uses the Joy's Life stamp set, Punny Animals. It's a very fun set to work with!  The theme this week at Joy's Life is dimension. Here's what I did.

Isn't that bee so cute?  I used the Create-a Critter II Cricut cartridge to cut it out, added some Stickles for dimension and pizazz, and used a Viva Décor Anthracite Pearl pen on his eyes. See that adorable honeycomb chipboard?  That's from my friend DeeDee.  She has a new company, selling chipboard called UmWow Studios.  You definitely need to check it out.  So cool! I used papers from Jillibean Soup Blossom Soup 6x6 paper, some chocolate cupcake Trendy Twine, a hexagon punch by Creative Memories, and some Close To My Heart Kraft paper for the tag.

I'll leave you with a close up of the bee and sentiment:

Hope your day is hap-bee!
