I Ruff You! for Crafty Sentiments Designs

There's a new challenge that starts today on the Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog, and I'm the hostess this week.  Our theme is "Pearls &/or Lace".   It's also New Release week, so visit the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations blog starting tomorrow to see this month's fabulous new releases!

Today, everyone on the team is showcasing one of the new releases for the challenge.  This is rubber stamp, Cookie Sleeping Time, and it will be available in the Crafty Sentiments Designs store later this week.

I colored the rubber stamp -- "Cookie - Sleeping Time" with Copic Markers.  I chose my papers first, then matched his comfy pillows and blanket to the papers.

The sentiment for this card is from Unity Stamp Company. I used a Paper Wishes die to cut it out. Papers for this card are from Echo Park  -- the Bark 12x12 Collection. The lace is from Really Reasonable Ribbon. The pearls are from my stash.

Cookie looks so comfortable sleeping on those pillows!  She's almost as spoiled as my own dog.  Almost!

I hope you can join us this week at Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog for our Lace &/or Pearls challenge.  We have great prizes, and I'd love to see what you make!

Make Your Mark -- for The East Wind

It's Tuesday, so that means it's New Release day at The East Wind.    Today's new release is Lucy Loo 'Drawing'.  She was so much fun!

I colored Lucy Loo 'Drawing'  with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company/Donna Downey.

I used papers from My Mind's Eye -- the Market Street Nob Hill  12x12 Collection. The circle dies are from Craftin' Desert Divas.  The glitter trim is from Close To My Heart, as is the card base.

For more inspiration, and to see what other design team members did with this fantastic new release, join our The East Wind Facebook Group.  Please follow me on Instagram, too.

Sophie's Been Busy! for The Cutting Cafe

I'm posting today for The Cutting Cafe, where the theme of the project is "something Valentine's".  Actually, though, this is Sophie, The Golden Retriever's post.  She has a very special person in her life, and she has completed his Valentine card.  The princess can relax.

Sophie is a therapy dog.  She goes to work with me everyday in the nursing home.  She spreads more love than one can imagine.  I could tell you hours of stories of the specialness of Sophie, the lives she has touched.  She has many admirers, friends, and fans.  But she has one person whom she adores.  That person is my husband.  This card is for him.  From Sophie.  From her heart!

I, oops Sophie, used The Heart Laced Shaped Card Cutting File from The Cutting Cafe on this.  Since Sophie is called The Princess by many people, it needed some glitz and glam, so pink glitter it was -- from American Crafts!

The sentiment is stamped, using a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

We're still working on Sophie's paw print signature.  I think we'll have it nailed by February 14.  But not now.  The princess is resting.

Check out The Cutting Cafe's blog on January 7th for the other fantastic projects from this uber creative design team.  You absolutely will NOT be disappointed, and if you leave a comment on the blog, you might win 3 sets of your choice.  There are some fantastic Valentine sets to choose from!

Complete instructions can be found on the Lacy Sunshine blog.    Today, we start the fun theme of Monster Mash -- just in time for Halloween!

I made a card with a very "scary" monster-like creature.  Be afraid, be very, very afraid!

See what I mean?  This cutie is Phantomana Beastie.  I colored this scary creature with Copic markers, then cut her out with a Spellbinders die.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.  Papers are a retired pack from Close To My Heart.  I cut the card design out on my Silhouette Cameo, with a design found in the Silhouette Design Store.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

Please join us with your Monster Mash creations at Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog.  You have 2 weeks, and TONS of creepy cute images in the Lacy Sunshine store to choose from.   Have fun!

Happy Fall, Friend -- for Oddball Art

It's time for a little challenge reminder over on the Oddball Art blog.  Our Fall is in the Air challenge goes on for another 2 weeks, so there's plenty of time to enter.

I have a friend who loves owls, so I made this card with her in mind:

This adorable owl is Image 58 in the Oddball Art Etsy Store.  I colored it with Copic markers, then fussy cut it.

The fall colored paper used on this card is a digi paper found at Pixel Scrapper.   The card was cut out on my Silhouette with a design found in the Silhouette Design Store. The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.

I hope you join our "Fall is in the Air" challenge at Oddball Art.  Check out the rest of the design team's inspiration, then join us for the fun and prizes!

Just for You & Boo

I'm putting a couple cards up quick before the evening gets too busy.  I managed to squeeze these both in at the end of the month for progressive challenges.  First, for the Outlawz Progressive Challenge:

This image is from Nicecrane.  I was given it free because I participate in last month's challenge.  Thanks!  I colored her with Copics, then used a couple Spellbinders dies to cut her out.  The sentiment is part of a stamp set from Hot Off the Press.  All papers, including the DP, are from Close To My Heart. The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  It is part of the Celebrations Bundle.  I used my We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper on this, too.

The second card will be entered in the Gerda Steiner Progressive Challenge.  I enjoy both these challenges very much, and try not to miss them.

This cute digi, Mouse on a Broom, was also a freebie, because I participate in last month's challenge.  I colored it with Copic markers, then used a variety of Lifestyle Crafts circle dies to make the card.  Papers are from Close To My Heart, the sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.

I'd like to enter these in the following challenges:

Back to School -- for Lacy Sunshine

I'm very excited to announce that I'm on the Lacy Sunshine Challenge blog team!  Today is my first post.  I love Lacy Sunshine images, so this will be a super adventure for me!

The theme this fortnight is "Back to School".  In the small town where I live, the kids start back Sept. 1, so we are right on schedule with this challenge!

This Lacy Sunshine image is Zoe Back to School.  I colored her with Copic markers.  She is ready for whatever her teachers throw her way!

I used Sangria papers from Close To My Heart to make the bookmark, and dies from Paper Wishes and Craftin' Desert Divas.  The enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye.  The fibers are CTMH.  The sentiment is a stamp of the week from Unity Stamp Company. Feathers are from my stash.

Please join us the next 2 weeks for our 'Back to School' challenge at Lacy Sunshine Challenges.  I'd love to see what you make!

Alice in Wonderland Blog Hop!!!

Today we are celebrating the 150th Anniversary of Alice in Wonderland, and what better way to do that, than to share lots of creative projects inspired by this wonderful story.

Not only will you see lots of amazing artwork today, but you can also win prizes from the following amazing companies;

Prize winners will be selected from Random blogs throughout the hop using Random.org to select each winner.  In order to be eligible for a prize you must visit all stops on the hop and leave a comment. The prize draws will be open until July 18th, with winners announced on July 20th.

I thought long and hard about my favorite Alice in Wonderland character and kept coming back to the Mad Hatter.  The older I get, the more I can relate!

This image is from The East Wind. The image is Lucy Loo 'Mad Hatter'.  I colored her with Copic markers and fussy cut her. Here's a close up of the image and the sentiment.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company. It seemed very appropriate for The Mad Hatter!

The teacup-shaped easel card is a cutting file that I found in the Silhouette Design Store. The papers are retired from Close To My Heart.  The crinkle ribbon is my favorite -- 3 Girl JAM!  No Mad Hatter card would be complete without a hat pin.  This one is from Pinque Peacock.

The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM, and the stick pin is from Petaloo.  Papers are from Teresa Collins -- He Said, She Said 6x6 pad.

Follow Your Passion -- for Fitztown

It's Thursday, and the 5th of the month, so it's time for a new challenge at Fitztown Challenge Blog. This month, since it's March, we want to see some "Green" on those projects.
Here's my green-themed card, using a Ballerina digi from the Fitztown Etsy Store:
I colored the image with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.  It is a Donna Downey set called "Art & Possibility."
Once the Ballerina was colored, I cut the image out with a Spellbinders die.  Leaving it in the die, I used several shades of Tim Holtz distress ink to ink the edges.  The half circle heart die is from Memory Box. Designer papers for this card are from Crate Paper Style Board 6x6 paper pad.
I hope you join in this month at Fitztown for our "Green" challenge.  I'd love to see what you make!

Love You, Friend. For Timeless Twine

It's Wednesday, and I'm posting today on the Timeless Twine blog. Today is "To Die for Wednesday".  The goal is to use a die cut somewhere on the project.  I used 5, for good measure!
The image and sentiment are a stamp set from Unity Stamp Co.  I colored the image with colored pencils -- something new for me. Once that was done, the die cutting began.  I cut out the image with a Spellbinders label die, then placed it on another Spellbinder die.  The feathers and ribbon slide are also Spellbinders dies. Papers are all from Close To My Heart. The image was printed on Canson Mi Tiente paper.
I used Timeless Twine in Olive Green to wrap around the feathers and through the ribbon slide, along with some crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM

Timeless Twine supplies used:

You Do Everything with Style -- for The Cutting Cafe

It's Thursday, and I'm posting today for The Cutting Cafe.  The theme this time is all about fashion -- dresses and dress forms.  I love shaped cards, so I chose to use the Fun With Dress Forms Cutting File and Printable Set.
I used My Mind's Eye Kraft Life Stories papers.  I searched forever to find the papers to achieve the vintage look I was after.  I settled for these.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company, and since there's a bit of Unity on here, I'm going to enter this is Unity's Friends With Flair. The lace and ribbon are from 3 Girl JAM. The pearls are from Basic Grey.
Check out The Cutting Cafe's Blog on Feb. 21 to see the fantastic projects by this incredible design team.  Comment for your chance to win any 3 sets of your choice.

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Whoopsi Daisy Challenges.  This week's theme is 'Bling &/or Pearls'.
Here's what I created for the challenge:

I used sheet 460 to create this beautiful image.  Isn't she stunning?
I colored her with Copic markers.
The sentiment, which I thought was very fitting for this image (and our challenge theme), is from Unity Stamp Company
I used 3 different Spellbinders dies on this card, designer paper from My Mind's Eye, and bling from my stash.
Come join our Bling & Pearls challenge this week at Whoopsi Daisy Challenge.

You Are My Anchor -- for DigiStamps4Joy

It's Wednesday, and it's time for some mid-challenge inspiration on the DigiStamps4Joy blog.  Our current challenge is "For the Boys".  My husband and I love to kayak and spend time on the water -- especially Lake Superior.  So, I went with a nautical theme for this challenge:

I used the beautiful DigiStamps4Joy stamp, "My Anchor" on this card:

I colored the anchor with Copic markers, then fussy cut it. I placed it over another stamped image of the anchor.  It was mounted with foam tape on the card base.  I used Fancy Pants paper on this card.  The twine was braided to look like an anchor rope.  It is Cherry Red baker's twine from Timeless Twine. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company
Come join in on the "For the Boys" Challenge.  You have until July 22!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Strawberry Pocket Card -- for My Scrap Chick

Ah yes, strawberry season!  One of my favorite times of the year.  I can't seem to get enough fresh, locally grown berries.  And the season is in full-swing right now.  Those wonderful, sweet berries were the inspiration behind this card that I made today for My Scrap Chick.

This card is a pocket card, and is part of a kit from My Scrap Chick called "Strawberry Patch".  I love pocket cards!  They go together quickly, and are a nice little surprise for the recipient.  Why?  Because of the pocket, of course!

There's a great place to write your message on the face of the strawberry, and it's not at all what the recipient was expecting when they opened the envelope.
The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company.  It is one of the Stamp of the Week sets. Papers are from Pebbles 12x12 Tree House Collection. The 2 half pearls are from my stash.
My Scrap Chick has been having great sales!  This whole collection was on sale for $1.00! -- 3D strawberry treat box, this pocket card, a handmade "2 sweet 4 words" card, strawberry shaped hang tags, and 2 sheets of printable words for the tags.  Keep watching, and you'll find lots of great stuff you just HAVE to HAVE!
I'm off to have a bowl of strawberries!  Enjoy your day!

New Release Sunday -- and a Giveaway!

Today's a BIG day!  It's new release Sunday at DigiStamps4Joy, it's my birthday, and it's the day of my giveaway.  Stay tuned, and I'll get to it all.  First, the new release at DigiStamps4Joy.  There are new releases every. single. Sunday.  Today is no exception.  When Margy, the owner, gave us this week's image to work with, I knew instantly what sentiment I wanted to pair it with.  Here's my creation:

One of the new images released today, and the one I used on this card, is called, "Call a Cab".

I printed out my digi, colored her with Copic markers, then mounted her on some backing paper and mounted that on 3D foam squares.  I won papers on the card last summer at a crop event and these are some pieces I've been hoarding.  I don't remember the company.  I know the card base is BoBunny Double Dot. The sentiment is a Unity Stamp Company stamp.  The ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  It's the new Tie Dye 2 Bundle.  The black bling flourish is from Close To My Heart. There's some Close To My Heart Liquid Glass on the sunglass lenses to make them shiny (hard to see in the picture).
Do you see my new oval base floral frog?  My BFF gave that to me as a birthday present.  She found this one and another one at an antique shop and sent them to me.  I'm SO excited!! I love the shape of this one!
And now, for my celebration giveway.  It's been going on since June 27th.  I've had 15 blog posts since then.  I used Random.org to decide which post the winning comment should come from.  It chose post #12. I used Random.org again to pick which comment from that post would be the prize winner.  The comment was comment #3, Donna K!
Donna said: "Congratulations on your latest DT assignment Julie! I'm in awe of your busy schedule and creative life lady! I love your Foxy Fay box...the sentiments are FAB!!"

Congratulations, Donna K! Send me your address, and I'll send you your prize!
Now, I'm off to celebrate my birthday.  We were going to go on a looooong Harley ride since it's Sunday and we both have the day off.  But, there's a 70% chance of rain today.  We're going out to eat instead, then my very patient husband is taking me shopping at not 1, not 2, but 3 scrapbook stores in the BIG CITY!  Oh, I do love that man!
Make sure you visit the DigStamps4Joy blog to see the other fantastic new releases today, and the other great projects from this over-the-top talented design team!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
