A Cheerful Snowman -- for The Paper Shelter

Hello, crafty friends!  It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter.  This is our Christmas Break challenge.  It will run for a month to give the design team a little break.

I used one of my favorite winter images from The Paper Shelter -- A Cheerful Snowman --

I colored A Cheerful Snowman with a combination of Copic and Olo markers.  The wonky stitched oval dies that I used tout out and back the image have been in my stash for a long time and no longer have an identifying label on them.  The snowflakes were cut out with glitter card byAltenew.  I used a combination of snowflake dies by Cheery Lynn and Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment is by Hero Arts, cut out with a die from Pink & Main.

I hope you can join us this next month at The Paper Shelter.  The above graphic explains the rules of the challenge and the prizes you could win.

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Skater -- for All Dressed Up Stamps

December 1, can you believe it?  Thanks for stopping by my blog during this busy season.

Since it's the first of the month, there is a new challenge starting over in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group. The challenge will run for the whole month.  The theme is 'Celebrations'.   I made one more Christmas card that may be used as a Winter card instead.  We'll see.

The All Dressed Up Stamps image I used for this challenge is Skater

I colored Skater with a combination of Copic and Olo markers. I used a couple of wonky stitched oval dies by Memory Box to cut her out and frame her. The tiny die cut snowflakes on the card are fromLawn Fawn and the sentiment is from a Taylored Expressions set.

I hope you can join our challenge this month at All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group. I'd love to see what you create!

Springtime! For All Dressed Up Stamps

Hello!  Thanks for stopping by. It's April 1, so a new challenge starts today in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group -- no fooling! This month's theme is Die cuts &/or Punches.  You can have fun with that one! There are many, many darling images to choose from in the ADU Etsy Shop.

I am longing for spring, but Mother Nature is pulling an April Fool's joke on us today.  We have 8 fresh inches of snow, and it's still coming down.  My wish for warmer weather and warm sunshine compelled me to use the image For You on my card for this month's challenge.  Isn't she adorable?

Since the challenge theme is Die cuts/& or punches.  I used multiple die cuts on this card.  I die cut the For You image, then cut the 2 frames (all Lawn Fawn dies).  The cute pink flowers were on my desk left over from another card I made.  They are by Concord & Ninth.  I used some dew drops in the centers of the flowers.

I hope you can join us this month in the All Dressed Up Stamps Facebook group!

New Year's Resolution -- Whatever the Weather, Enjoy it!

Happy 2022, my blog friends!  I really don't make new year's resolutions, but it seems like a good idea to try to be more like my dog this year.  No matter what the weather is, he just enjoys it!  Since he and I are outdoors for hours everyday, I might as well adapt his philosophy!  As my boy Winter would say, "Whatever the weather, whatever!"

Today isn't just the start of a new year, it's also the start of a new month, which means it's the start of a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  Challenges will be a little different this year.  Every other month, they will be Anything Goes, and then the next month, there will be a theme.  We're starting out the year with a month of Anything goes to ease us into the changes.

Snowmen have the right idea about winter -- just enjoy the snow while it lasts.  So, to go along with my new philosophy, I created a snowman card for today's challenge....

I started by inking my background with Distress Oxide inks in Victorian Velvet, Villainous Potion, Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Spun Sugar, and Kitsch Flamingo. Then, I constructed the snowman.  It is a die set by Karen Burniston. Then, I created the snowbanks, using Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border dies. The inked background and pink layer were cut out with Memory Box Wrapped Stitched Rectangles.  The "Let it Snow" sentiment is by Crafter's Companion

The pretty snowflake paper on the base of the card is by We Are 3 Digital Shop.  It is one of the Winter papers

I added some snowflakes on my inked background with a Sakura White Gelly Roll Pen. I used a Viva Decor Anthracite Pearl Pen on the eyes and mouth. I piece of ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon tied like a scarf finishes off the the card.

I hope you join in on our Anything Goes challenge at Dies R Us Challenges. It will run for 2 weeks.  I'd love to see what you create!

Let's Have S'more Christmas --for The Paper Shelter

It's Wednesday, and the Paper Shelter Challenge Blog is starting a new challenge today.  Both teams are joining in on this one, as it's the last one of the year.  It's also an Anything Goes Challenge, as we know how busy everyone is. So, link up whatever you're creating.  If it uses a Paper Shelter image and you win the challenge, you win a $30 gift certificate to the Paper Shelter Store.  Wow! This challenge will run for 4 weeks.

I made one more Christmas card for today's challenge.  It's already been mailed out.  Here in NW Wisconsin where I live, bonfires are very popular, and in turn, so are roasting s'mores over those fires, so this Christmas card was perfect for some friends we've done some camping/kayaking with through the years...

This card uses A Marshmallow for the Christmas Elf. In comes in the black & white version, that I used here, a pre-colored version, and some papers also.

I colored A Marshmallow for the Christmas Elf with Copic markers and Spectrum Noir markers.

All the papers on this card are from Crafter's Companion.  The sentiment is a die cut from Spellbinders Paper Arts.   The snowflakes are dies by Lawn Fawn and Cheery Lynn.

Please join us at The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog for our Anything Goes Challenge. You have until January 11.

From Our Gnomes to Yours -- and SheepSki Designs Challenges

It's the first of the month, and a new challenge starts today at SheepSki Designs Challenge Blog. Our theme this month is "Embellish It". The challenge runs for the month of December.

I have been wanting to color up the awesome Garden Party image, so took advantage of today's challenge to do just that!

I wanted to make the Garden Party image look like Christmas, so I used my Copic markers and colored it with Christmas colors.

That awesome red checked paper helped with the festive feel, too.   It's from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  It's one of the papers in the Winter Plaid Collection

I computer generated the sentiment and cut it out and backed it with a die from Queen & Company.  The snowflake dies are by Frantic Stamper and Lawn Fawn.

I hope you can join us for our "Embellish It" Challenge at SheepSki Designs Challenge Blog. I'd love to see what you create, and you could win some of Andrea's awesome images -- like this one!

I colored Christmas Eve with Copic markers, then fussy cut the image.  I made the snowdrifts using hill dies from Lawn Fawn.  The night sky was created using a piece of blue paper and dotting it with a gel pen to create the stars.  The sentiment is an acrylic stamp from Crafter's Companion.

It's October 15th, and it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges. The challenges are Anything Goes, as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store.  The challenge will run for 2 weeks.

A couple from my church recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.  They met at a Bible camp, that is very wooded.  I thought this die was perfect to make a die for their special day...

I created this card using a Crafter's Companion A Place To Remember Create-a-Card die. The sentiment is computer generated unto a stitched tag by Tonic Studios. The red stitched heart die is one of the Just Stitching Hearts die by Lawn Fawn

The background paper of the card is by We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is one of the Fairy Land papers

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks for our Anything Goes challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  We give away a gift certificate and 3 designer choice awards every challenge.

Haunted House -- for Dies R Us Challenges

It's October 1, the month of spooky cats, witches, trick-or-treaters, and of course, haunted houses, so when it came time to make a card for today's card at Dies R Us Challenges, I knew it had to have a Halloween theme.  You, however, can make anything you want.  Just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store. The challenge will run for the next 2 weeks.

I don't make many Halloween cards, and when I do, I don't want them to be too creepy or spooky.  I prefer the cute side of Halloween.  Today, though, I went with spooky...

This Haunted Manor is a Spellbinders Die. This exact die isn't available in the Dies R Us store, but if you search 'haunted house', you'll find some that are very close.  The bats are by Impression Obsession.  The hillside has a row of stitching on it.  It is hard to see cut out in black.  It is a die by Lawn Fawn. (Stitched Hillside Border Dies) The Boo!  Is one of my favorite Halloween sentiment dies.  It is also by Spellbinders. It is part of the Boo Web set.

The background paper on this card is by We Are 3 Digital Shop.  It is one of the Halloween Night papers. Some burnt orange Timeless Twine finished off the card.

I hope you can join our Anything Goes challenge at Dies R Us Challenges this next 2 weeks. We give away a gift certificate to the Dies R Us Store, and 3 designer choice awards each challenge.

For our Canadian friends, check out the Didi Crafts store for wonderful craft supplies and reasonable shipping rates.

You'll find many images that fit that theme in the All Dressed Up Stamps Etsy Shop

Little guyz and water -- they go hand in hand.  So, with that in mind, I colored up the darling Little Fishes and created this....

I colored Little Fishes with a combination of Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and Copic markers.  I made the waves by using Lawn Fawn stitched wavy border dies and papers from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are the Under the Sea papers.  It's Tuesday, and it's my day to post on the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration & Challenge Blog.  A new challenge is just getting underway, with the monthly theme of Magical World (fairies, mermaids, unicorns, dryads).

I had not yet had the opportunity to color one of Ching-Chou Kuik's wonderful mermaids, so I took advantage of this month's challenge  theme to do just that!  Here is The Tender Angie:

You can find The Tender Angie and all the wonderful digital images in the Ching-Chou Kuik Etsy Shop.

I colored The Tender Angie with Copic markers, then set about finding papers and a sentiment.  I found both in the We Are 3 Digital Shop.  The waves were created with Under the Sea papers and Lawn Fawn wavy dies.  The sentiment is one of the Mermaid Wishes Sentiments

Thanks so MUSH! For Dies R Us Challenges

March 15, we're 1/2 way through this month already!  Winter is still hanging on tight here in NW Wisconsin where I live.  Oh well.  More time for crafting!  March 15 -- that means it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  Challenges are always Anything Goes, as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store

Dies R Us Challenges  is on a joint venture this challenge with Double Trouble Challenge Blog.  You can find all the details on either blog.  Basically, the theme is "Magic", or mystical.  Create a project with a magical theme, and you can enter it in both challenges.

I find gnomes very magical creatures, so when I saw this adorable set called Oh Gnome! from Lawn Fawn, I knew I needed to create with it!

I colored the Oh Gnome! figures with Copic markers, then used the corresponding Oh Gnome!  dies to cut them out. I framed them on a set of nesting dies by Nellie's Choice. The sentiment was stamped on a banner die by Lawn Fawn -- the Simple Wavy Banner Die Set

The cute mushroom background paper is by We Are 3 Digital shop. I thought it was the perfect backdrop for the Oh Gnome! magical set.

I hope you join us at Dies R Us Challenges.  You can enter an Anything Goes project, or join in our collaborative effort with Double Trouble Challenges, and make something magical!

Brrrr Winter! For Dies R Us Challenges

It's the 15th of the month, and it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  Every 2 weeks, a new challenge begins!  For the next 2 weeks, the theme is 'Winter Wonderland'.  Yeah, winter is almost here, isn't it?  I actually love winter, and I adore making winter cards, so this was a great challenge for me!

Shop the Dies R Us Store.  You'll find tons of dies that fit this theme!  All you have to do is use one form a die that Dies R Us sells to be eligible for the challenge. They sell dies from dozens of companies, so that is easy to do!

My entry for the 'Winter' Theme!

I started out inking my winter sky background.  I used distress oxide inks, purchased from Dies R Us in the colors of Peacock Feathers, Speckled Egg, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserves, and Blueprint Sketch.  Then, I made the "snowbanks".  They are actually Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillside border dies.  The cute snowbird is from Elizabeth Crafts.  The Brrrrr Winter Sentiment is part of a Winter Wishes Sentiment set from Elizabeth Crafts.

Sweet Holiday Wishes -- For Jan's Digi Stamps

We're more than 1/2 way through November, and it's time for some mid-challenge inspiration at Jan's Digi Stamps Challenge Blog.  The challenge started the first Monday of the month, and it will run until December 6.  You still have plenty of time!  JDS challenges are always anything goes.  Anything! Link up whatever you are working on!

You'll find many wonderful digital set in the Jan Mayhew store. If you're working on Christmas cards, there are some fantastic sets, including several news ones.  I used the wonderful new Holiday Sleigh to create this:

This is one of Jan's pre-colored images.  She does such a fabulous job on them.  I couldn't color them as well so it's really hard to not use the pre-colored variety that is offered. The sentiment is also from the Holiday Sleigh set.

I hope you can join us at JDS challenges! They'll be a random gift certificate given away, one for a Jan Mayhew image, an 3 designer choice awards.
