A Breath of Spring -- for Fitztown

Happy Easter, everyone!  It's the fifth of the month, so it's time for a new challenge on the Fitztown Challenge blog.  The challenges are always Anything Goes.  This month's optional twist is -- use Leaves or Flowers.  If you follow my blog at all, you know I love to color flowers! And butterflies! So, I used both.
I used two Fitztown images on this card -- Garden 16 (butterfly image).  The rose image is retired.  Both are colored with Copic markers.
This side step card is a Sizzix die.  I used 2 sizes of Spellbinders dies to cut out the Rose image.  The butterfly image is cut out with a punch.
There's some Autumn Splendor Timeless Twine wrapped around the base of this card.  Papers are from Authentique.

Follow Your Passion -- for Fitztown

It's Thursday, and the 5th of the month, so it's time for a new challenge at Fitztown Challenge Blog. This month, since it's March, we want to see some "Green" on those projects.
Here's my green-themed card, using a Ballerina digi from the Fitztown Etsy Store:
I colored the image with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.  It is a Donna Downey set called "Art & Possibility."
Once the Ballerina was colored, I cut the image out with a Spellbinders die.  Leaving it in the die, I used several shades of Tim Holtz distress ink to ink the edges.  The half circle heart die is from Memory Box. Designer papers for this card are from Crate Paper Style Board 6x6 paper pad.
I hope you join in this month at Fitztown for our "Green" challenge.  I'd love to see what you make!

Love You!

I'm guest designing today for The Sisterhood of Crafters.  This month, I am a Step Sister!  Yea!
Our theme for the current challenge is "Sweetheart and Roses". I made the card for my sweetheart:

The rose image is from Fitztown.  It is Valentine 12. I colored it with Copic markers.  I've never had good luck with yellows before, but I think I found a blend that works for me. This is a new green combination, too.  I'm pleased with the results.
I used a Spellbinder label die in 2 sizes, some American Crafts glitter paper, My Mind's Eye designer paper, and 3 Girl JAM Simply White lace on this card. The sentiment is a Simon Says Stamp stamp.
I'll have another card later this month for the Sisterhood of Crafters.  I can't wait.  I thank Darlene Pavlick and her design team sisters for this opportunity.

Christmas Red & Green -- for Fitztown

It's December 1!  Are you ready?  It's also time for a new challenge at Fitztown Challenge blog.  This time, our theme is perfect for making Christmas projects, "red and green with a digital element".  Fitztown has some great digis to work with.  Here's what I chose:

This Christmas candle is Winter 2, found in the Winter Collection at Fitztown.  I colored the image with Copic markers.
The edges are inked with Tim Holtz distress inks -- Spun Sugar and  Tattered Rose -- while still in the Spellbinders Label 17 die. Card base is 5 1/2 by 4 1/4 and is Ruby card stock by Close To My Heart.  Designer papers are Echo Park Home For the Holidays 12x12 papers.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The sentiment is from Close To My Heart.

Cutest Girl EVER -- for Fitztown

There's a new challenge starting today on the Fitztown Challenge Blog, and it's a fun theme -- "Glitz and Glamour"!  I've been wanting to color this sweet girl for a long while now, and finally got the opportunity to do it.  Oh, what FUN!

This Fitztown image is from the Stardust and Pumpkin Collection.  It is SnP 1.  I colored her with Copic markers and used a Wink of Stella clear brush on her wings.  The sentiment is computer generated.
The papers are from Paper Wishes, the glitter paper is from American Crafts. The lace and crinkle ribbon are from 3 Girl JAM. The stick pin is from Pinque Peacock.  I used a couple of Spellbinders dies on this card, and my We R Memory Keepers scallop corner chomper.  And I had a GREAT time!
Come join the challenge at Fitztown, and have a fun time yourself! The challenge goes for 2 weeks.

Frogs, Vellum, and Birthdays -- for Fitztown

Hello, crafty friends, and happy Monday! It's time for a new challenge at Fitztown.  For the next 2 weeks, we want you to use some vellum.
My husband's birthday was a couple days ago, and he loves tree frogs, so I used a wonderful Fitztown image to make him a birthday card:

The tree frog digi is one of a set of 4, found in the Etsy Shop, Morgan's Fae World.  I colored the frog with Copic markers, fussy & cut it.  I stamped a pocket on designer paper and fussy cut that.  The pocket stamp is part of a Unity Stamp Company Stamp of the Month kit.  I placed the frog on top of the pocket, stamped my sentiment on vellum, and placed it on top of the pocket. The sentiment is a stamp by CTMH
The designer papers are by Bella Blvd.  The Kraft card stock base is by Carta Bella. That fun new chevron punch along the bottom is from Close To My Heart.
Do you like to use vellum?  Do you find it a challenge?  Either way, find your stash and join us for the next 2 weeks at Fitztown!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Boo! for Fitztown

Happy Hump Day, crafty friends!  I have the pleasure of posting on the Fitztown challenge blog today, with a Halloween inspirational post.  If you are a regular follower of my blog, you know I've been busy making Halloween cards for my residents at the nursing home where I work.  I made another simple one that I can easily make more of using a fun Fitztown image:

I used Fitztown image Halloween 7 on this card.  Halloween 7 is actually a set of 4 Jack-O-Lanterns. I used 1 of the images from the set, and colored it with Copic markers.
The pumpkin shaped card is from the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut it out using my Silhouette Cameo. I used a couple of Lifestyle Crafts circle dies, some Orange Licorice Timeless Twine, and some letter stickers from my stash.
Now, if I can only get about 50 more of these made.  Hmmm. Maybe?

You. are. old.

There's a new challenge blog in town and it launches today!  The Inspiration Destination Challenge blog starts it's first challenge today, and the theme is ALWAYS ATG!  So, come join myself and the rest of the design team, and have FUN!
Speaking of fun, I had a blast creating this card.  I used a digi from our first sponsor, Fitztown:

The digi is from the Etsy shop, Morgan's Fae World.  It is part of the "Set of 8 Vintage Cars".  I wanted the digi to look old, vintage, rusty.  I used Tim Holt Distress markers and a water brush to get this look.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company. The papers and medal studs are from Close To My Heart.
Come join our challenge this week and every week at Inspiration Destination!

A Tangled Mess -- for Fitztown

Monday already?  How did that happen?  And it's time for a new challenge on the Fitztown Challenge blog.  This week's this is "Animals".  Yeah, I like that one!  I'm sort of in Christmas card mode these days, so when trying to figure out what digi to use, I found this really cute one called "winter snowbird".  A bird is an animal, right?

This stamp can be found in the Morgan's Fae World Etsy Shop.  It's available in this pre-printed version I used here, or a regular digi stamp.
I printed it twice, and fussy cut it once, wrapped some Cherry Red Timeless Twine around it, and used 3D foam tape to place it on top of the first printed image.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.  It seemed to fit this little snow bird perfectly! Papers are from Echo Park.

Joy is Not in Things -- for Fitztown

Hello, and happy Monday.  It's challenge time at the Fitztown Challenge blog. This week's theme is:  Banners or Pennants.  Banners make me think of a celebration.  I needed to make a birthday card for a very special friend celebrating her 60th birthday.  I didn't want it to be a typical birthday card, but rather, a beautiful card about happiness.  Fitztown's stunning images helped me achieve what I was after:

I used Fitztown digistamp Garden 9 on this card.  I love to color flowers, and sunflowers are one of my favorites.  So, this card was a joy to make. I used Copic markers to color the image.  I made the image quite large so it would be the showcase of the card.
Designer papers and sticker sentiment are from Close To My Heart.  Pearls are from Basic Grey.
I hope Lori likes her non-traditional birthday card!

Real Friends Listen with Their Hearts -- for Fitztown

After guest designing for Fitztown for several months, I've been asked to stay on the team, and I couldn't be happier!  This is a great group to work with, and some super images to design with!
Today starts a new challenge on the Fitztown Challenge blog, and the theme is always popular -- Anything Goes.
I used 2 of my favorite images on this card:

The flower is a new Fitztown image, found in the MorgansFaeWorld Etsy Shop, called Flower Set (6 flowers).  The butterfly is Garden 16, and is part of a collection of 6 butterflies.
I have some new ShinHan Touch Twin Markers I am experimenting with, and I used them on both the flower and butterfly. Here's a closeup of both of the images:

The sentiment is a stamp from Close To My Heart.  Designer papers are from the My Mind's Eye Vanity Fair 6x6 pad.  Ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  This is Tuxedo, from the Celebrations Bundle. The pearl stick pin is from Pinque Peacock. I also used a We R Memory Keepers Scallop Corner Chomper on this.
Come join the Anything Goes challenge, and check out the awesome inspiration from the Fitztown Creative Team.

I'm Steppin' Out for Fitztown!

Today is my last guest designer post for Fitztown Challenge blog.  I've loved the opportunity to work with the fantastic images given me! And the Creative Team has been wonderful to me!
The newest Fitztown challenge is a step card.  I had great fun with this one!

I love butterflies and this image was wonderful to color!  I have 2 Spectrum Noir markers.  I used both of them on this butterfly.  The butterfly is from "Garden 16", and is one of 6 butterflies that comes in the set.
I intentionally left this center step card very simple, because I wanted the butterfly to be the focus.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.
I used my Silhouette to make the step card, using a design I found here, in the Silhouette Online Store.  The papers are from Carta Bella.
Don't forget to check the Fitztown Challenge blog for tons of wonderful inspiration, and the Fitztown Store is a wonderful place to explore!

Altered Card Box -- for Fitztown

Hello, and happy Thursday!  Fitztown  has a new challenge that started this week.  I'm honored to be guest designing for them again today.  This week's theme is an "altered item". One of my favorite things to alter are card boxes -- it's something I can have on hand and give as a gift, filled with handmade cards:

The box is 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 inches deep.  It will hold about 8 handmade cards with envelopes, depending on how embellished they are.  I inked the edges of the box with Tim Holtz Distress Stain in Tarnished Silver, then, using Mod Podge, attached Close To My Heart paper from the Lucy paper pack.  I used the Fitztown image, Garden 7 as the focal point, coloring the flowers to match the papers.  I used Copic markers to color the flowers.  I used a Spellbinders Gold label die in 2 sizes.  The flowers started out white, but I inked them to match the papers and added matching brads (flowers and brads from CTMH).  The rhinestone flourish is also from Close To My Heart.
Here's a view where you can see the box a bit better:

This is a great challenge -- it takes us out of our comfort zones a bit and does what it's supposed to -- challenges us!  I had a wonderful time with my altered card box for Fitztown!

It's Anything Goes at Fitztown!

I'm still guest designing at Fitztown, and yesterday I had a chance to work with a brand new release!  It was so much fun!!  I worked on some coloring skills, challenging myself in ways I haven't tried before!  Today, there's an Anything Goes Challenge, and my card is a part of the inspiration on the Fitztown Challenge Blog. I'm excited and honored it's being showcased!
And here it is:

The newly released stamp is called "Bridal Wedding Day 1" and can be found in the Fitztown Etsy Store.  I colored the bride with Copic markers, then created an easel card to showcase her.
The Square Frills Easel Card is from My Scrap Chick. I cut it out using my Silhouette Cameo.  The papers are from Close To My Heart, as is the rhinestone button and the sentiment stamp.  The crinkle ribbon is 3 Girl JAM.
It is the Iris ribbon from the Spring Flowers Bundle.
Here's another view that shows the easel a bit better:

Flowers and Shapes -- Guest designing for Fitztown

Today was supposed to be my last guest designing post for Fitztown, but I'm staying on for another month (yea!), so I'll have 2 more posts with them in July.  Today, I made a shaped card to fit this week's challenge theme.  I LOVE shaped cards, and I LOVE coloring flowers, so this was a particularly fun one for me!

The flower is Fitztown FL1.  I just love all the beautiful floral images in the Fitztown store, and this one is sooooo fun to color with Copic markers!
I cut the shaped card out on my Cameo Silhouette.  I found the card shape in the Silhouette Online Store.  The shaped behind the stamped image is cut with a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is a stamp from Close to My Heart. I finished the card off with some 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon from the new Tie Dye 2 Bundle, then added a stickpin made by my crafty friend, Randi (thanks, Dear!)

I have a giveaway going on, celebrating several events: I wrote my 500th blog post this week, I just reached 400 followers on my blog, and I have over 100 "likes" on my Facebook page, Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  To celebrate all those things,  I'm having a giveaway:  I have some Timeless Twine, some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, a Unity stamp set, a Close To My Heart stamp set, some Pinque Peacock embellishments, a 6x6 paper pad, and various embellishments that I need a home for. I also have two generous sponsors:  DigiStamps4Joy is giving a $10 gift certificate to the store, and The Cutting Cafe is offering any 3 sets.  WOW! If you'd like to be eligible to win, please leave a comment on any of my blog posts between now and July 6.  I'll draw a winner on my birthday.  It's my day, and you get the present!  I'd also love it if you "like" my Facebook page and follow my blog, if you don't already.
