Owl say Hello -- for Julia Spiri

I have a bit of mid-month inspiration today for the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   Our challenges go for a month.  The themes are Anything Goes with a twist.  If you choose to participate in this month's twist, it's 'Vintage'.

For today's card, I used the image 'Griselda with Owl' and colored her with Copic markers:

I fussy cut Griselda with Owl after coloring her.  The card base was cut out on my Silhouette Cameo with a file I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  Papers for this card are by Echo Park and Close To My Heart (card stock).  The peacock colored crinkle ribbon is from D.L. Art's Etsy Store.  The foil 'Hello' was purchased at Hobby Lobby.

I hope you join the Julia Spiri Anything Goes with optional Vintage Challenge this month.  You have plenty of time.  I'd love to see what you make, and we have great prizes!

You Are Fabulous -- for Julia Spiri Challenge Blog

It's Tuesday, and we're starting a new challenge today on the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   The theme this month is "Vintage".

Julia Spiri has MANY great images in her Etsy Shop that will work wonderfully for this challenge.   I used Marie Antoinette to create this:

I colored Marie Antoinette with Copic markers, then used several dies from Craftin' Desert Divas to cut out and back the image.

The sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company, cut out with a die from Paper Wishes.  Crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

I hope you can join in on this month's vintage challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   You can win some of Julia's wonderful digis, and I'd love to see what you make!

A Note to say Hello -- for Julia Spiri

It's time for a bit of mid-month inspiration over on the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  The theme is always 'Anything Goes -- with a twist', if you choose to participate.  This month's twist is At The Beach or Sea.

I have a little inspiration for you using a Julia Spiri image.  I love to color flowers, and since our mid-month inspiration posts can be anything we choose, I chose this beautiful floral arrangement called, 'Wedding Flowers'.

I colored 'Wedding Flowers' with Copic markers, then stamped a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp on it.

The card base was cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.  The file is from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons.  The Wedding Flowers were cut out with a Spellbinders die.  The designer paper is Echo Park's Neapolitan Dots & Stripes.  The mulberry flowers were purchased at Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I hope you join in on the 'At the Beach or Sea' challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge blog this month.   Julia has some great mermaids and 'at the beach' images to color up!  Check them out in her Etsy store here!  Check out the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, for lots of inspiration, fun, and notice of freebies and sales.

You Amaze Me -- for Julia Spiri Challenge Blog

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  For the next 2 weeks, the theme is 'At the beach or sea.'

Julia has some fantastic images, including some wonderful pirates & mermaids, found in her Etsy shop, that are perfect for this challenge theme!

Here's my card, using Charlotte Pirate....

I colored Charlotte Pirate with Copic markers.  I used several edger dies from Paper Wishes to cut her out and the card layers.

Papers for this card are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  She just released a whole Taste of Summer Collection, and these papers are just a "taste" of the collection.   There's a blog hop going on for another day, and you could win the whole collection if you hop, or the patterned paper collection if you leave a comment on my blog.  Check out this post for details.

Do you like that octopus?  That was a freebie I got in an order from Spellbinders dies.  Living in land-locked Wisconsin, I didn't think I'd ever use it.  I jumped for joy when I found a place for him on this card, and I think he is adorable!

The die cut "you" and the sentiment are from Simon Says Stamp.

I had such fun creating this card, and I want you to have just as much fun, so I hope you can join our At the Beach or Sea challenge for the next 2 weeks at Julia Spiri Challenge blog. Check out the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too!  It's even more fun!

Oh Happy Day! for Julia Spiri

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   For the next 2 weeks, the theme is 'In the Garden' (add a flower, tree, etc).  I love flowers, so this was a great challenge for me!

I used Pink & White Roses clip art from Julia Spiri to create this card.  It is a wedding card for some very special friends.

I printed the rose on white paper, then used 2 sizes of Spellbinders dies to cut it out and back it.

The card base is a cutting die by Sizzix.  The papers are from My Mind's Eye.  Some Timeless Twine wraps it up.

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks for our Garden challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   Then, check out the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group.

Hey There -- for Julia Spiri Challenge Blog

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge on the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   Our theme for the next 2 weeks is always Anything Goes, but there's an optional twist of CAS.

I adore Julia Spiri images!  I'll color any and all of them.  Finding one that would work well for a CAS card was a bit of a challenge, but I found one that seemed like it would work well for what I had in mind.

I used The Little Ladybug digi stamp to create the CAS card:

I colored The Little Ladybug with Copic markers, then backed her with some black card stock to make the image pop.

Designer papers on this card are from Pixel Scrapper.  All card stock is from Close To My Heart, except what the Little Ladybug digi is colored on.  That's Copic X Press It Blending card.  The sentiment is part of a stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.

I hope you are able to join in on our challenge at Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  Remember, it's always Anything Goes, with an optional CAS twist.  It runs for 2 weeks.  Join the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, to find out about specials, new releases, and for tons of great inspiration!

On Your Special Day -- for Julia Spiri Challenge Blog

Happy Thursday, everyone!  It's time for a new challenge on the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  For the next 2 weeks, our theme is 'wedding.'

I used the Peonies and Ranunculus, Watercolor Clip Art, to create this:

I layered several of the flowers and vines together to get this effect, and added the sentiment using a font on my computer.  After that, it was a matter of finding some elegant paper that looked like 'wedding', an elegant die cut, some glitter trim, and the card was complete!

This is definitely the season of weddings and wedding showers.  I have several coming up in the next few weeks and this card is going to come in handy!

I hope you can join us at the Julia Spiri Challenge blog for our 'wedding' challenge.  We've got great prizes, and I'd love to see what you make!  Join the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, for more inspiration, fun, and occasional freebies!

Here's a springtime beauty with an unusual hair color to share with you:

I used Julia Spiri digital image, The Spring Flowers, colored with Copic markers.

The card base was cut out on my Silhouette Cameo, with a file found in the Silhouette Design Store.  I cut The Spring Flowers out with a oval cross stitch die from Die-Namics.  The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  The sentiment is from Sweet Stamps, cut out with a die from Top Dog Dies.   All the card stock used on this card is from Close To My Heart, except for the Copic X Press It blending card, used to color The Spring Flowers on.

Happy Birthday -- for Julia Spiri

It's time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  As always, our challenges are Anything Goes with an optional twist.  This time, the twist is  -- For a Child.  I took advantage of the twist to make an always needed birthday card.

I used 'The Bunny and Cake' on this card, colored with Copic markers.

After I got done coloring 'The Bunny & Cake', I constructed the card using papers from Photo Play - Birthday Boy Collection.  The dies used to cut out the image are from Lawn Fawn.  The Kraft paper is by Carta Bella.  The card stock, sentiment, and shimmer trim are by Close To My Heart.  The enamel dots are from my stash.

I hope you can join in the next 2 weeks at Julia Spiri Challenge blog, where challenges are always Anything Goes.  This time, the optional twist is - For a Child.  You have a chance to win some great Julia Spiri images of your own, and I'd love to see what you make! Join the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, for more fun, inspiration, and news.

A Magical Friendship -- for Julia Spiri Stamps

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  The themes are always Anything Goes -- with a twist, if you choose.  This time, the twist is -- Craft bags (make a bag).  The challenge will run for the next 2 weeks.

I absolutely love Julia Spiri images.  There isn't a bad one in the bunch, but this one?!?  It has to be one of my favorites!!! (do I say that every time?) This is The Little Dragonfly...

I colored The Little Dragonfly with Copic markers.  It was so much fun to experiment with colors on those wings and the dress.  It was an Anything Goes coloring affair, let me tell you!

The bag was cut out on my Silhouette Cameo, with a file found here in the Silhouette Design Store.  I cut the colored image out with a couple of circle dies.  The plain circle die is by Spellbinders.  The stitched circle die is from Craftin' Desert Divas.  The sentiment is digital, by Polkadoodles, printed onto a Polkadoodles paper.  The paper behind the Little Dragonfly image is digital -- Prima Indeed, purchased at Snap Click Supply.  The ribbons on the bag are from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

I hope you can join in on our optional Craft bag challenge at Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  We have great prizes, and I'd love to see what you make!  Check out our Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, for news, inspiration, discount codes, and more!

Enjoy the Moment -- for Julia Spiri Challenge Blog

It's time for a new challenge at Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   Our challenges are always Anything Goes with a twist.  This times twist is -- 'Film, Book, or Song'.

I used the Julia Spiri image, The Victorian Hat, and used it to create this:

I read Emma, by Jane Austen, many years ago, but The Victorian Hat reminds me of the book.  I loved reading Jane Austen books!

I colored The Victorian Hat with Copic markers.  The sentiment is from an old stamp set from a company that has gone out of business, but seemed to fit the image and the challenge theme.  Papers are all digital, from my scrap pile.  Dies are from Craftin' Desert Divas. Bling is from my stash.

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks for our Anything Goes with a twist -- book, film, song challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  I'd love to see what you make!  Check out the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook group, too, for even more inspiration and news.

Paris - With Love -- for Julia Spiri

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  Our theme is always anything goes with an optional twist.  This time, the twist is 'Paris'.  Julia recently released some incredible Paris themed digis you can find in the Etsy Shop.

I've always wanted to go to Paris.  It's on my bucket list.  While making this card, I was there in my dreams, walking my dog...

I used Promenade in Paris on this card.  I liked that it was an entire scene, or I could have used portions of the digi, if I had chosen to.  I colored Promenade in Paris with Copic markers.  I used papers from Echo Park.  The Eiffel Tower paper is a digi paper I found at Pixel Scrapper.  Dies are from Die-namics and Spellbinders.  Crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

I hope you join us for our Anything Goes with an optional Paris-themed challenge at Julia Spiri's challenge blog.  It will run for the next 2 weeks.  Check out the Stamps by Julia Spiri Facebook Group, too -- there's lots of inspiration there!

My Heart -- for Julia Spiri

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.   For the next 2 weeks, our theme is "Anything But a Card."  I make lots of cards, but I like the opportunity to make something else now and then.  This was a fun one for me!

Any Julia Spiri image is a joy to color and My Heart was no exception.  Isn't she sweet?

I colored My Heart with Copic markers, then fussy cut the image.

I cut the heart shaped bag out on my Silhouette Cameo, with a design I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  The heart behind the digi is cut out with a die from Lawn Fawn.

I hope this inspires you to join in on our 'Anything But a Card' challenge this time at Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   There's great prizes to be won (Julia Spiri digi images, of course!) and I'd love to see what you make!

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge on the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  Challenges are always anything goes with an optional theme. The optional theme for the next 2 weeks is "Venice".

Have you seen the last few new releases?  They have been fantastic!!!  I am using a recently released digi today, called 'The Secrets of Venice'.

I colored the Secrets of Venice with Copic markers, then cut her out with a Lawn Fawn round stitched cutting die.

The card base was made with  a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe, Nesting Frame Shaped Card Set 3.  The feathers are Spellbinders dies.  The twine is from Timeless Twine.  All papers and sentiment are from Close To My Heart.

I hope you can join our challenge this next 2 weeks at Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  It's always anything goes with an alternate twist -- Venice.  There's some great Venice images in the Julia Spiri Etsy Shop.  How fun!!

Here's what I did for the challenge, using 'Girl with Pigtails'...

I colored Girl with Pigtails with Copic markers, then fussy cut her out.  The card base was created with various dies from Top Dog dies.  I used my Anna Griffin Minc machine to create the glittered "From my Heart" sentiment circle.

Love Who You Are -- for Julia Spiri

There's a new challenge that starts today on the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.   The challenge theme is not always easy for me.  For the next two weeks, the theme is 'Monochromatic'.  However, with this particular, adorable Julia Spiri image, I found the challenge an awesome one!

Meet Sweet Pea -- from The Garden Dwellers Collection!

I colored Sweet Pea with many of my G and YG Copic marker shades.  There's also a hint of Violet in the skin, for a bit of contrast, and pink on the lips.  Even Sweet Pea needs pink lips!

The card is a modified swing card, cut out on my Silhouette.  The stamp is from Close To My Heart.  Papers are from Echo Park, Dots & Stripes 12x12.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the monochromatic theme.  Join our Facebook group for much more fun, inspiration, and even free Julia Spiri digi stamps!  Of course, join the Monochromatic challenge these next 2 weeks at the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  I'd love to see what you make, and there's super cute prizes to be won!!!

A Dollhouse for Julia Spiri

It's time for a new challenge on the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  This one will run for a month, and we are veering far away from Christmas.    Our theme this month is "Dollhouse".  This can be interpreted in a variety of ways, as you can see from visiting the Julia Spiri Challenge blog and seeing what other DT members did.

Here is my interpretation:

I used Julia Spiri's The Birds and Hair on this house-shaped card.  I colored her with Copic markers, then fussy cut her out.  The house shaped card is an SVG file from My Scrap Chick.  I used the Country Village Small House Box, but chose to make it into a card instead.  Papers are from Echo Park.

I hope you join us this next month at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog for our Doll House challenge.  I'd LOVE to see what you make!

A Bit of Altered Art -- for Julia Spiri

It's Thursday, and time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.  Today, we start challenge #7, alter something.  I chose to alter a Kraft container, and used a delightful (aren't they all?) Julia Spiri image to do it.

I used "Girl with Hair Wrap" and colored her with Copic markers.  I used a Spellbinder die, cutting it out 3 times, to back the image with.  The Kraft container is covered with some Close To My Heart papers, matching the colors in my image.  The white lace, from Really Reasonable Ribbon, was inked on the edges with some Tim Holtz distress ink.

I plan to use this container for a birthday gift.  I'm thinking it will be perfect to hold some hair accessories.

I hope you find time to join us at the Julia Spiri challenge blog for our altered item challenge.  It will run for 2 weeks.

You're Awesome - for Julia Spiri Challenges

It's Thursday, and already time for another challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  These weeks fly by!  The new challenge theme, starting today, is an easy one -- add a sentiment.  See?  Easy peasy!

This card was created using the totally awesome Julia Spiri image, Forest Hairdressing. I colored the digi stamp with Copic markers.  The card was created using a Spellbinders die in several sizes.  The sentiment is a stamp by Close To My Heart.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  The stick pin is from Prima Marketing.

There are so many details in this Forest Hairdressing digi that I find irresistible.  I love the concept of this cute gal sitting under that flower to dry her hair, the squirrel perched with the mirror, and the butterfly with the nail polish. It's all too cute!

Come join us at the Julia Spiri Challenge blog.  You have 2 weeks to enter the "add a sentiment" challenge.  You can do it!
