There'll Never Be Another Ewe

It's Monday, which means it's time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps.  Our theme this week?  "Farm Animals".  Living in America's Dairyland, I probably should have done something with a cow, but I have a co-worker who raises sheep and her birthday is right around the corner.  I decided to make her a card instead.
I'm always trying something new in this digi adventure, seeing what works and what doesn't.  Today, I tried watercoloring:

I used Eureka Stamps digi2209(35) Standing Sheep and QKR Stampede (our Sister Company) digi 15621 "Another Ewe".
The base of this card is a Strathmore watercolor paper 5x7 card.  I used some very inexpensive watercolor paints randomly on the front, & let them dry. While they were drying, I colored my sheep with Copic markers and fussy cut her out, mounting her with foam tape to the front of the card.  The sentiment is also foam taped, and wrapped with Cherry Red Timeless Twine.  I used 3 colors of Stickles on UmWow Studio's chipboard stars. Once they dried thoroughly, I adhered them with glue dots.
I have a giveaway going on, celebrating several events: I wrote my 500th blog post last week, I just reached 400 followers on my blog, and I have over 100 "likes" on my Facebook page, Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  To celebrate all those things,  I'm having a giveaway:  I have some Timeless Twine, some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, a Unity stamp set, a Close To My Heart stamp set, some Pinque Peacock embellishments, a 6x6 paper pad, and various embellishments that I need a home for. I also have two generous sponsors:  DigiStamps4Joy is giving a $10 gift certificate to the store, and The Cutting Cafe is offering any 3 sets.  WOW! If you'd like to be eligible to win, please leave a comment on any of my blog posts between now and July 6.  I'll draw a winner on my birthday.  It's my day, and you get the present!  I'd also love it if you "like" my Facebook page and follow my blog, if you don't already.
And that's that!  Check out the awesome designs from the rest of the DT at the Eureka Stamps Challenge blog, and join our farm animals challenge this week.  Ewe'll be glad ewe did!

Feel the Joy!

Ah, Friday!  I'm posting today on the Pinque Peacock blog, and I used a Unity Itty Bitty I recently purchased, linking this up with Unity Friends With Flair
I have a CAS card to share with you today.  I started with a watercolor card by Strathmore as my base:

I used some Faber Castell Galatos first, smearing them with a wet finger.  Then, I stamped the image over the top.  It's an Itty Bitty stamp from Unity called "Feel the Joy".
The crowning touch, though, are the Pinque Peacock products.  They match the colors of the card perfectly, and really give it ZING!  I used a small Elegant Floral and topped it with a 3/4 inch fabric covered button.  Yeah, they were just what this CAS card needed!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Watercolor butterflies

Happy Tuesday, everyone.  I promised to announce the winner of my blog candy today, and I will, but I want to share a couple cards with you first.
I have a tutorial on the All That Stickles blog today. It's Tips and Techniques Tuesday.  I used a "watercolor paints and Stickles" technique to create this card:

The card was made using an inexpensive watercolor paint set, a 5x7 watercolor paper card by Strathmore, Crystal Stickles, & May Arts white silk ribbon dyed to match the butterfly (and painted with Stickles).  The butterfly is a Unity stamp called "Bold Butterfly".  The sentiment is from the Joy's Life "Pun in the Sun" stamp set. I used Tim Holtz distress ink in Stormy Skies on the butterfly and distress stain in the same color on the ribbon.  The sentiment was stamped using Close To My Heart Outdoor Denim ink.

The second card is for the Unity Show & Tell group, using the free Unity digi from yesterday (7-22).  Unity is having a Creative/Color contest, and I'm entering this card in the Show & Tell group to be eligible.

I love the free image by Angie Blom.  It was very fun to create with.  The sentiment is by Joselyn Nielsen.
Here's the Copic colors I used:
The one Ciao marker is YG 63.

And now, I promised a winner for the blog candy from Sunday's All That Stickles blog hop!
I used the comments from all weekends' blog posts (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).  Random.org chose -2 -- Saturday's post.  Then, using Random.org again, it chose "3".  That comment is Karen Nofziger.  Her comment?  "Super cutie patootie"  You gotta love that one!  Congratulations, Karen!  You win the goodies.  More Stickles coming your way, plus other stuff.

I'm hopping with the Joy's Life team this Saturday and will have more blog candy from this weekend's posts, (I'm counting 7 from Thursday-Saturday) so visit often to increase your chance to win!

I'm entering these cards in the following challenges:

Oozak.com -- anything goes with texture
