Miss You a Bushel! for Bugaboo Stamps

It's Freebie Friday at Bugaboo Stamps!  Every Friday, there's a new freebie!  Doesn't that just make your Friday better?  Today's stamp is called Autumn Brat Leaves Girl and she's a real cutie!

I colored up Autumn Brat Leaves Girl with Copic markers.  I used 2 cutting dies from Cottage Cutz to cut her out and back Autumn Brat Leaves Girl. The sentiment is an acrylic stamp from Joy's Life.

The fun papers are from We Are 3 Digital Shop. They are from the Autumn Woodland papers.  The leaves are cutting dies from Yvonne Creations.

Check out what the other talented Bugaboo designers did with this girl over on the Catch the Bug blog. Grab her from the Bugaboo Stamps Store, color her up, and enter her in the challenges.  You might win more Bugaboo Stamps

Berry Best Wishes -- for Scrapy Land Challenge Blog

It's challenge time!  It's the 3rd Wednesday of the month, and that means it's time for a new challenge at the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog.  Challenges are always Anything Goes, as long as you use a die that Scrapy Land sells.  There are over 55 companies carried in the Scrapy Land Store, so that should be easy!

It's almost strawberry season here in Wisconsin where I live.  In preparation for the joy of the season, I created this card, using an Impression Obsession Strawberry Basket die set.

Doesn't that just make your mouth water?  The circle die behind the  strawberry basket is similar to the Sue Wilson Designs - Noble Collection - Double Stitched Circles.  The sentiment is stamped on to a banner die, similar to the EK Success Cutter Bee Die Set - Banners.

Each time, there are 2 winners at the Scrapy Land Challenges.  Each one wins a $10 gift certificate to the ScrapyLand Store, so get creating!  I'd love to see what you make!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Have a Fintastic Day -- a New Release for Crafty Sentiments Designs

It's New Release week at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  You'll want to visit the Crafty Sentiments Inspirations blog each day starting Tuesday through Friday to see them all.  Then, head to the Crafty Sentiments Designs store on Saturday to do some shopping of the new releases!

Today, I introduce you to the rubber stamp, 'Josh - The Catch':

I colored 'Josh - The Catch' with Copic markers, then used a Spellbinders die to cut it out and back it. The card base is a Sizzix die.  The fishing elements were cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.

Designer papers for this card and the card stock base are from Close To My Heart.   The sentiment is from Joy's Life 'Pun in the Sun' set.  I stamped it on a cloud die from American Crafts.

This rubber stamp, 'Josh - The Catch' was pure joy to color.  I hope you enjoyed today's card and will visit the Crafty Sentiments Store to pick it up for yourself!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Enjoy the Summer -- for Star Stampz

It's Thursday, and time for another challenge at Star Stampz Challenge Blog.    The theme, for the next 2 weeks, is 'Summer is Here'.  Yes it is!

It is just about strawberry season here where I live, and that is a sure sign of summer.  that was the inspiration behind today's card:

This adorable image is 'Spring Strawberry', by Star Stampz.  I colored Spring Strawberry with Copic markers.

The summertime strawberry papers on this card are from Close To My Heart.  The card design is a cutting die from Sizzix.  The sentiment is a stamp from Joy's Life.  a bit of Timeless Twine tied it altogether.

I hope you can join in on the 'Summer is Here' challenge at Star Stampz Challenge blog.  We've got great prizes, and I'd love to see what you make!  Check out the Facebook Fan group, too.

Friends Make Life Sweet

I have a treat bag to share today that I made for a color challenge I found at the Eyelet Outlet blog.  It is also one of 3 pieces I submitted for their design team call.  I love to add embellishments to projects, and they've got such great stuff!  I'm hopeful....

On to the treat bag:

The treat bag itself is from Close To My Heart.   I decorated it by using some die cuts -- from Paper Wishes, ribbon from 3 Girl JAM,   & a stamped sentiment from Joy's Life Stamps.  Everything is else from Eyelet Outlet -- cooking brads, cupcake, lips, and keyboard washi tape.

This is the color scheme I used for the treat bag:

This treat bag was filled with some yummy chocolates, and was delivered to a very sweet friend.  She loved it!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

It's Flip Flop Season -- for Snapdragon Snippets

I'm lucky enough to be posting today for Snapdragon Snippets.  I have two very fun, Summertime cards to share with you, both with a flip flops theme.

The first card is a popular motif with Snapdragon Snippets.  It's a Trio card, and in this case, a Flip Flop Trio A6 Card, found in the Silhouette Design Store, and coming soon to the Snapdragon Snippets Store.

The second card is a paper quilt pattern that I converted into an A2 sized card.  It's the August Docket Mini Quilt.

Papers for both these cards are from the same Close To My Heart paper packet - Zoe.  The sentiments are both from Joy's Life Stamps -- the Pun in the Sun stamp set.  I used Paper Wishes dies to cut out the stamped tags, and enamel dots from my stash.

Enjoy the rest of the summer -- it's winding down fast! Don't put those flip flops away quite yet!

Fireflies in a Jar -- for 3 Girl JAM & WINNERS!

I have 2 winners to tell you about today.  I recently participated in the Digis for Debbie blog hop to raise funds to help a sister in need pay for medical expenses.  I said I'd reward a $15 gift certificate to the Fresh Brewed Designs Store, and today is the day to pick the winner.   I also promised blog candy when my original blog was hacked and I had to start a new one.  I said I'd give it away when I got to 50 followers.  Well, I have 46 followers on the new blog, but now I'm back to my original blog, but still want to award the candy.  So, 2 lucky winners today!

$15 FBD Gift certificate (chosen by Random.org) -- Rhonda Zmikly of Bumblebee Creations!

Blog candy (6x6 paper pad, Close To My Heart stamp set, Unity Stamp Company grab bag, embossing folder, 3 Girl JAM ribbon, Timeless Twine, and MORE!) WINNER (again, chosen by random.org from the 46 followers of my new blog) -- Chriss America Real!
I'm posting today for 3 Girl JAM.  It seems that I can always find another use for 3 Girl JAM products.  The possibilities are truly endless!  Today, my favorite ribbon is mimicking a rusty canning lid.

Summer and fireflies go hand-in-hand for me.  Seeing fireflies makes me happy!  When I was young, my grandma wouldn't let us go barefoot until we had seen a firefly, so we looked diligently for them.  She knew they didn't come out until the hot summer nights.  Then, we'd run around with youthful abandon and try to catch them in a jar.  They were magical! (Until morning, anyway, when they were just another flying insect).

This card is a cutting file from the Silhouette Design Store.  The tag   is a die from Paper Wishes.  The sentiment is a Joy's Life "Pun in the Sun" stamp.  Best of all, though, is that new crinkle ribbon from 3 Girl JAM! This is Barn Door from the *new* Rustic Country Bundle.

There's only a day left to get another new bundle at a discount. The Summer Harvest Bundle is only $1 if you use coupon code JULY, along with your purchase.  Or, purchase anything you like, use coupon code JO10, and save 10% on everything! All the time!

Wishing You Blue Skies - for SDS

It's Wednesday, and I'm posting today for Snapdragon Snippets.  We've had some really cold weather lately, but one thing about cold weather -- the sun shines, and the sky is the prettiest blue of the whole year.  Those blue skies were the inspiration behind today's project...

This Heart Air Balloon cutting file can be found in the Snapdragon Snippets Store.  I sized it to fit on the front of a 5x 6 1/2 card front.
Designer papers are My Mind's Eye Love Me Do, 12x12.  I purchased them for the cloud background paper.  I have this "thing" for cloud paper.  I can't get enough of it.  The sentiment is a stamp from Joy's Life Stamps. The bling and glitter trim are from Close To My Heart.
Visit the blog often for more great inspiration.  The Snapdragon Snippets Store is adding new great designs all the time. Don't forget the Snapdragon Snippets Facebook Page and the Snapdragon Snippets Creative Garden Facebook Fan Page.

Give Thanks! for The Cutting Cafe

It's getting close to Thanksgiving, so this week's post for The Cutting Cafe is a Thanksgiving themed post.
I chose to work with the delightful Turkey shaped card cutting file, from, of course, The Cutting Cafe.

Didn't I say he was delightful?  This turkey shaped card cutting file comes complete with his own envelope, which is great, as he's quite a large turkey, strutting those wonderful, colorful feathers of his!
All papers on this card are from Close To My Heart.  The designer papers are from the Path Finder paper pack
I stamped the "Give Thanks" sentiment, using the It's All Fall Puns stamp set from Joy's Life. A Viva Decor pearl pen added the finishing touches.
This holiday, and all year, I'm giving thanks for my many blessings.

Give Thanks! for Snapdragon Snippets

It's Wednesday, and time to switch to winter mode here in Wisconsin.  We are digging out from the first major winter storm of the season.  Everything is white and snowy outside, but inside, I have a Fall card to share today.  I used a beautiful Snapdragon Snippets card file to create this:

This is called the Oak Leaf Swag Card.  You can find it HERE in the Silhouette Design Store.  There are also many great Fall, Christmas, and Winter designs in the NEW Snapdragon Snippets Store.
I followed this design very closely, altering it only by stamping a sentiment on it. All card stock is from Close To My Heart.  The "Give Thanks" sentiment is from Joy's Life. This is from the All Fall Puns sentiment set.  I also added a few sequins from Bella Creationz.
There's a blog hop coming up this weekend! Join us for the fun!

I give thanks for you, my faithful blog reader, every day.  In this season of counting blessings, know that I count you as very important!
The 8 inches of snow, though.  I'm having a bit more trouble counting the blessing there.  I know!  One day closer to spring!

A Trio of Pumpkins -- for The Cutting Cafe

I love Fall!  I love the changing of the leaves, the brilliant blue sky, the geese flying over and landing on the nearby lake, and the local pumpkin patch where families gather on weekends to have fun.  All this was the inspiration behind today's post for The Cutting Cafe.

I made this Pumpkin Trio Shaped Card using papers from Close To My Heart.  I love the "Fallness" of them!  The sentiment is from Joy's Life.  The ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.
I had a great time making this card.  The possibilities for these is endless, depending on papers you use.  Try one, and let your creativity soar!
On Oct 7, check out The Cutting Cafe blog to see what the rest of the talented design team has made.  You won't be disappointed!

Sunshine and Blue Skies -- for SVG Attic

Hello, and happy Tuesday!  This is my last post for SVG Attic.  My time, this term, is nearly over. I have LOVED being on this team -- watching the company grow, working with the fantastic designs, and experiencing the friendships have been awesome.  I want to thank the owners, designers, design team leader, and design team.  I've loved every minute.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
I am sending you all off with 2 wishes from one of the newest kits in the SVG Attic store.  I made two very similar cards from the JGW Above It All kit. Soooo many cute things in this kit!

I used the hot air balloon from the kit, sized it to fit on the front of a card, and cut it three times on my Silhouette.  Then, I scored them and glued them together.  The card will lay flat for mailing.

I used a Joy's Life stamp set for the sentiments, as I thought they were very fitting for the cards, and for the message I wanted to leave with you all today.
Papers are from Close To My Heart.  They retired long ago, but I keep hoarding this cloud paper, using it in little bits. On the second card, I used a We R Memory Keepers Cloud Corner Chomper. The Aqua Blue Timeless Twine finishes off the card.
My wish for all of you today and everyday -- sunshine and blue skies!

Fall into Fall

Even though the calendar says 'summer', the signs of fall are everywhere.  Our temperature this morning is 48 degrees, and the leaves are starting to turn -- and fall -- in my front yard.
I'm posting today for Timeless Twine.  Our theme this month is "Fly into Fall".  I've modified it a bit to "Fall into Fall" for today's inspiration.

I used the colors of this photo and came up with this:

I love September!  The days are sunny, the sky is a beautiful blue, the nights are cool, and the leaves are beginning to turn.  Outdoors looks just like the colors of my leaf-shaped card.
This is a cutting file from The Cutting Cafe. It is the leaf shaped card cutting file.

The sentiment stamps on both these cards are from Joy's Life -- the "It's All Fall Puns" set.

Papers and buttons are from Close To My Heart.  The papers are the Pathfinder collection.
I used 3 Timeless Twine colors on these leaf-shaped cards -- Pumpkin Orange, Aqua Blue, and Chocolate Chip Brown

Join the Timeless Twine Twine-istas all month as we have fun with this theme and these amazing twine colors!

I have two projects with a similar theme for today's hop.
Many years ago, my husband spent six months working in Antarctica.  Ever since then, penguins have been near and dear to him. We have many penguin ornaments and adornments around at Christmastime. Because of his love of the bird, I made him these:

Oh, yeah.  He'll like a few treats in this penguin treat box, and the step card penguin is on an action spring.  Even big boys like interactive cards! And, of course, the Pinque Peacock embellishments make them "Oh-so-fun!!"
Here's some close ups of each project:

My husband is going to know just how much I love him because I actually used glitter on this project.  I seriously avoid the stuff at all costs.  But that big ole penguin belly was just screaming for it, so I added a ton of it to the whole thing, and to the pom pom and brim of his hat. And, yes, I have now added it to the entire house.  It happens every time.
Here's a closeup of the felt popper and 3/4 inch red fabric covered button I used on this.

You can find these felt poppers here in the Pinque Peacock store.  They work brilliantly on 3D projects like this one. And the red 3/4 inch fabric covered button just screams Christmas, doesn't it?
How about a look at the side of the box to see how big it is?

I used the Joy's Life Wintery Puns stamp set on this penguin treat box.  The box is a cutting file from The Cutting Café.
Moving on to the interactive card...

I used another felt popper and 3/4 inch red fabric covered button on this card.  Don't they add so much to this cute card?
Both this step card and the penguin are cutting files from The Cutting Café.  I used two stamp sets from Joy's Life on this card:  "Wintery Puns", and "Oh Christmas Puns".
The card stock and designer paper on these projects is all from Close To My Heart.  There's also a Viva Décor Pearl Pen on the penguin's eyes in anthracite.
Here's another view of the card that shows off the embellishments a little better:

Don't you LOVE that black/red combo on the felt popper and button?  It matches my penguin so nicely!
That's it for me.  I've got lots to do before Christmas, so I better get busy!

A New Challenge at Cameo Creations -- Thanksgiving!

Happy Thursday, everyone.  Today starts a new challenge on the Cameo Creations Challenge blog.  The theme for the next 2 weeks is "Thanksgiving".  One can not help but think of turkey with a theme like that, so guess what I made?

You guessed it! It's a turkey shaped card.  I found this cutting file at The Cutting Café.  You'll find it here. Adorable, isn't it?  The sentiment on his belly is a Joy's Life stamp from the "It's All Fall Puns" stamp set.  All plain card stock is from Close To My Heart.  The designer papers are My Mind's Eye. Viva Décor pearl pens were used on the eyes and body.
Make your own Thanksgiving-themed project, and come link up with us at Cameo Creations Challenge blog.  We've got great sponsors!
I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Sweet Stamps -- Give Thanks challenge
Sister Act Card Challenge -- Anything Goes

I'm Nuts about You! For 3 Girl JAM

Hello, crafty friends.  I'm posting today on the 3 Girl JAM blog. I wanted to come up with a way to showcase the fun 3 Girl JAM jute ribbon & string bundle.  And, of course, I wanted a Fall/Thanksgiving theme to it.  So, I fired up my Silhouette and went to work:

I found this acorn cutting file in the Silhouette Online Store. It is a Lori Whitlock file. I tied 3 Girl JAM jute string and ribbon on both bags. These jute strings and ribbon are the perfect colors for Fall projects! The paper is from Echo Park.
I used Joy's Life stamp set, "That Tastes Punny" for the sentiment.

And, a close up of the other treat box, too, to showcase that jute ribbon and string one more time:

And that's it for today!  Thanks for the visit!

It's Here! The On The Table Blog Hop for Joy's Life!

If you are looking for the Pinque Peacock "Holidays Are Upon Us" Blog Hop, please click HERE, or scroll down 2 posts.

It's the weekend, and the Joy's Life design team is bringing you some Thanksgiving inspiration.  You should have come here from the always talented Dawn's blog.  In case you just stumbled on the hop, here's the whole order:

Julie -- you're here!
Laura -- go here next!

We have a very casual Thanksgiving.  My husband and I join my father for his Thanksgiving dinner in the assisted living facility where he lives for the noon meal.  Then, depending on my sister-in-law's schedule, we either join my in-laws for another Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday evening or we get together on the following Saturday to celebrate.  I'm still not sure what the plans are for the in-laws this year, but I know we'll be joining my father.  With that in mind, I wanted something casual to bring to the table to decorate his place setting on Thanksgiving.
My father was a carpenter by trade and spent many hours taking care of his yard when he wasn't working.  His yard became even more important to him after he retired.  With that in mind, I found what I thought would be the perfect Thanksgiving table décor:

I had this idea for a wheelbarrow, but couldn't find exactly what I wanted, so Regina from The Cutting Café designed this for me so I could have it for today's hop! My own personal cutting file! I was so excited!  It is a wheelbarrow treat box.  You'll see it better as we go along.  The sentiment is a Joy's Life stamp, of COURSE!  It is from the "It's All Fall Puns" stamp set. Now, for a view of the other side:

I used the same Joy's Life stamp set, "It's All Fall Puns" on this side of the wheelbarrow, too. You can find this adorable stamp set, and all of Joy's wonderful sets, along with some great stamp bundles with free shipping in her store. The designer papers are Echo Park 6x6 Reflections Fall.  The base is Close To My Heart Kraft cardstock. The leaves are CTMH Colonial White cardstock.   They are a Tim Holtz die.  I painted them with Creative Inspirations Paint to give them those beautiful Fall colors and shine.
Here's a little peek into the box...

And, one more view, showing you how big the box is:

My father will have plenty of candy to munch on all Thanksgiving afternoon!
Now, speaking of candy, how about some blog candy?
First, I have unclaimed winnings from last month's hop.  Teresa K., you are the winner.  Please let me know how to send you your goodies.
I have more blog candy for this month's hop -- a 6x6 pad of paper, some bling, brads, ribbon, and stamps.  To be eligible to win, please follow my blog and leave a comment on this post.  I will announce the winner with my Joy's Life post on Monday, Nov. 11.
I have a recipe to share with you also.  Wild rice is part of our Thanksgiving tradition, and this is one of our favorite ways to enjoy it:

Wild Rice Pilaf

1. 1/2 c. wild rice & 3/4 c. water. Bring to a boil -- strain.  Do this 2 times.
2. Take the wild rice, add:  1/2 c. white rice
                                            2 c. water
1 bouillion cube or tsp. bouillion
3. Bring to a boil, simmer 40 min.
4. Meanwhile, brown in butter (2T) 1 lb. fresh mushrooms
                                                          1/2 c. slivered almonds

Enjoy!

Off you go to the uber talented Laura's blog.  Have fun!
