Spring Rain Boot -- for Stella Says Sketch

It's Sunday, and a new challenge it's starting at Catch the Bug Challenges.  It's time for a Stella Says Sketch Challenge.  It's all for Bugaboo Stamps! The challenge starts today and goes for the next 2 weeks.

I'll show you my card first, and eventually the sketch for this time's challenge.  Using Spring Boot, I created this:

I colored Spring Boot with Copic markers, then used a set of Spellbinders oval dies to cut them out.

Here's the Stella Says Sketch for this challenge:

As you can see, I followed the sketch pretty closely.

Papers on this card are by We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are from the Ladybug Lace and Ladybug Lace Too papers.

The sentiment is from an acrylic stamp set that has been in my stash forever.  The company is no longer in business.  The watering can is a die from Crafter's Companion.

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks at Stella Says Sketch.  You'll find all the action on the Catch the Bug Blog!  We've got awesome prizes that you can win!

National Draw a Bird Day -- for Bugaboo Stamps

It's Wednesday, and that means it's Humor me Wednesday on the Catch the Bug Blog.  Holidays, both important and obscure are celebrated this day.  I'm sure draw a bird day is important to someone, but this is a new day to party for me!

Jodie has many wonderful bird images in her Bugaboo Stamps Store.  I chose this amazing Hummingbird image because of it's simplistic line drawn appearance. I think it definitely qualifies for Draw a Bird Day, don't you?

I printed the hummingbird image onto silver paper from Crafter's Companion, then used a heart die from Spellbinders to cut it out.  The designer papers are also from Crafter's Companion. The sentiment is an acrylic stamp from My Pink Stamper that has been in my collection for many years.  I kept the card simple to emphasize that beautiful Hummingbird digi

Check out the other holidays that are being celebrated this week, and how creative the other Bugaboo designers are over at Catch the Bug!

It's Sunday, and Its Stella Says Sketch Day at Catch the Bug for Bugaboo Stamps!  Woot, woot!   Love those sketches of Stella's!

We're still very much in the middle of winter where I live, so I'm sharing another winter themed card today, using this week's sketch. I'll show you the card first, then the sketch in a bit:

This Bugaboo Stamps digi is called Winter Bird Friends and it's on sale for only $1.50!  I colored Winter Bird Friends with Copic markers, using a large Lawn Fawn stitched die to cut it out.

Here's this week's Stella Says Sketch:

As you can see, I followed the sketch pretty darn close.

The snowflake paper on this card is from We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is one of the Loving Winter papers.

The sentiment is from a My Pink Stamper set I've had for a long time.  Remember her?  The heart dies are from Close To My Heart.

Happy Easter, Happy Spring!

It's Saturday, the day before Easter.  It's a cool, rainy afternoon and I decided to make a couple tags to enter some challenges.  I am always charmed with Gerda Steiner images.  I used 2 of them for these tags:

The 2 Gerda Steiner images I used were Nerdy but Nice on the first tag and Bunny with Carrot on the second tag.  Both digis were colored with Copic markers.

Papers for these tags are digital.  They are found at Snap Click Supply and are Lori Whitlock's Easter Friends papers.

I used some goodies I won in a challenge from Eyelet Outlet.   I used Pastel Rabbit Brads and 12 MM white/black jewels.

Dies for these tags are from Craftin' Desert Divas and Paper Wishes.  Sentiments are from My Pink Stamper.  Fibers are from Close To My Heart.

I had a great time making these tags, being creative on a rainy afternoon.  Now, to make some supper!

Thinking of You -- New Release for DS4J

It's Sunday, and there are new releases today in the DigiStamps4Joy Store.  To add to the excitement, there is a new artist!  I was lucky enough to be able to work with Lesie's first image in the DigiStamps4Joy store:

This DigiStamps4Joy image is called Patchwork Country 1. I printed it on colored card stock (Close To My Heart), then used distress inks and a wet paintbrush to color it with.  The sentiment is a stamp from My Pink Stamper.
I was trying for a sun ray of patterned paper behind the image.  It all got a big busy, but if you look, maybe the sun ray is apparent? The designer papers are from Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine 6x6 pad. The white baker's twine is from Timeless Twine
Check out the DigiStamps4Joy blog today to see what other design team members have done with this new release, and other new releases.  You won't be disappointed!

Happy Easter -- New Release at DS4J

Happy Easter!  There are some new releases in the DigiStamps4Joy  Store today.  I chose to work with Fantasy Tulips.  They seemed a perfect choice for Easter Sunday.

I love to play with different color combinations when using Copic markers.  I did this technique on the Fantasy Tulips.
I used 2 different sizes of Spellbinder oval dies on this image. The designer paper is from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment is a stamp from My Pink Stamper.  There's Lemonade Yellow Timeless Twine wrapped around the card for the finishing touches.

Rose Garden -- for The East Wind

Some images just challenge you more than others.  Such is the case with today's New Release from The East Wind. Today's release is called "Hair Heaven (Rose Garden)".  I chose to emphasize the rose theme:

I have to tell you, after working with all that hair, it reminded my why I keep mine short!  Long hair is TOO much WORK!  But my, she's a beauty, isn't she? If you want to practice curls and shading, cast shadows, etc., this is a great image!  There's lots of skin there for skin tone practice, too. Plus, the big eyes are a bonus.  Super fun!
Hair Heaven (Rose Garden) was colored with Copic markers, then mounted on papers by Close To My Heart. The ribbons are from my stash.  The sentiment is by My Pink Stamper.
Check out The East Wind's Etsy Shop often.  There are new releases every Tuesday and Friday. The East Wind Challenge blog can be found here.  There's always more inspiration and fun in The East Wind Facebook group.

Shake an Easter Tail -- for The Cutting Cafe

Easter is just around the corner, and this time, for The Cutting Cafe, we can make "anything Easter."  Ever since I made the blind lady at my nursing home her first shaker card at Halloween, I've been making her new ones for every holiday.  She gets such enjoyment out of getting a card that she can actually do more than have someone read to her.  And, at 99, one should get all the enjoyment out of life one can find!  So, I made her this!!!
Papers on this card are from October Afternoon.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.  Sequins are from Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz.  The tie dye ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.
I want to invite you back for "Julie's 3rd Blogoversary Blog Hop", March 20-22.  There will be lots of inspiration and prizes, including a chance to win 3 sets of your choice from The Cutting Cafe!  Thanks, Regina! You are always so generous! There's also a couple of freebies for everyone who participates! Yea!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Die Cuttin' Divas -- Welcome Spring
Digi Choosday -- Anything but a square card

A Spring Tulip -- for The Cutting Cafe

Happy Tuesday, fellow crafters.  It's nowhere near spring where I live.  In fact, we're still having below zero temperatures most nights.  So, when I'm dreaming of spring, and it's snowing outside, I make spring-like projects!  I think GREEN!
Green is the theme this week at The Cutting Cafe. Here's what I created:
I used quite a few shades of green on this card, then added some flowery prints, too.
I used the Tulip Card Set to create this Tall Tulip Card, and the Grass Shaped Card to create this.  Designer papers and ribbon are from Piggy Tales.  Card stock is from Close To My Heart. The sentiment is a stamp from My Pink Stamper.
Visit The Cutting Cafe blog on March 7 or later to see the other "Green" projects by this fantastic design team.  Leave a comment, and you could win 3 sets of your choice.  ANY sets!  Yeah!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
AUD Sentiments - Bingo (diecut, flowers, 2 patterned papers)
D.L. Art - March Linky Party

If the Broom Fits.... for Pinque Peacock

Happy Hump day everyone, and the second day of October already! Since we're into October, I'm into Halloween mode.  I make quite a few Halloween cards to give out to the nursing home residents where I work, so I've begun making cards for them already.  Here's a rather "spooky" witch I made that uses a Pinque Peacock chevron fabric covered button (3/4 inch).  LOVE this button!  It goes on so many different projects!

The witch image is a stamp from Unity Stamp Company that I colored with Copic markers..  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.  Or should that be Pinque? Papers are from Close To My Heart.
And, that luscious chevron button on top of the 3 Girl JAM Tuxedo black crinkle ribbon?  We all know, that's PINQUE PEACOCK!
That's it for me today.  Off you go, broom or no!

I'm entering this in the following challenges:
2 Creative Chicks -- Spooktacular Linky party
Sister Act Card Challenge -- ATG
