A Happy Hello -- For SheepSki Designs Challenge Blog

It's April 1st, and it's time for a new challenge at SheepSki Designs Challenge Blog.  Challenges start at the beginning of the month, and run the whole month through. This month, the theme is, "Show us Your Wings".

I've been wanting to color up the darling Flump n Tic image, found in the SheepSki Designs Etsy Shop

Here's what I created:

I colored Flump n Tic with Copic markers.  I made that bird extra bright so it would show up for the wings theme of this challenge, then I added a butterfly for good measure!

The elephant papers were found at AMB Illustrations.  I cut the center step card out on my Silhouette Cameo from a file I found in the Silhouette Design Store. I computer generated the sentiment.

I hope you can join us this month for the SheepSki Designs Show us Your Wings Challenge.  I'd love to see your creations!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
Outlawz Twisted Thursday -- ATG
QKR Stampede -- ATG
Word Art Wednesday -- ATG
Polkadoodles -- ATG
2 Crafty Critter Crazies -- ATG with a critter
Crafty Animals -- ATG with an animal

Hello? I Miss You! For Bloobel Stamps

Hellloooooo!  You there?!?    That's the message of this oh-so-fun digi I want to share with you today!  This is my second post today.  It's a super cold Saturday and I've been busy creating!  This card uses a digi from Bloobel Digital Stamps.  She's a brand new release, and you can find her here.  You can find all the awesome Bloobel stamps at Bloobel.com.

And now, my creation:

Lisa, of Bloobel Digital Stamps, has such a unique style.  These stamps are soooooo fun to color!   I used Copic markers on this one, titled 80's Telephone.   I used some of my favorite Copic combinations on this cutie, so it was fun, fun, fun!

The sentiment was computer generated, then cut out with a couple dies from Tattered Lace.  The frame around 80's Telephone is by Craftin' Desert Divas.  Papers on this card have been on my stash for a few years, and I no longer no the company.  They were just scraps.  The telephone embellishment was a file I found at Silhouette Online Store and cut out on my new Silhouette Cameo 3.

This card is so fun, I just have to enter it in the following challenges:
Inspiration Destination Challenge Blog -- ATG
Polkadoodle Challenge -- ATG
PDE Linky Party -- use die cuts

Happy Winter, Happy 2018! for QKR Stampede

It's the last Friday in 2017, and the new year is soon upon us.  This is my last blog post I've got planned for 2017, so I'll take this opportunity to wish all my readers a happy and creative 2018!

Since it's Friday, it's also time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede challenge blog. It's our last challenge with an optional theme.  Next year, all our challenge will be Anything Goes, so I hope you link up often to join the fun!

This week's optional QKR Stampede theme is 'Snowman or 'Snowflakes'.  I used both on this winter card:

This adorable little snowman, is called Catching Snowflakes (Q-digi21304), colored with Copic markers.

The snowflake card base was found in the Silhouette Online Store, and was cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.  The snowflake dies, from Paper Wishes, were cut out with gold paper to add a festive touch.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Speaking of snowmen -- what did the snowman say to the other snowman?  Do you smell carrots? Bwahahahaha!

I hope to see you often in 2018!  Join us at QKR Stampede for this week's optional Snowman or Snowflake challenge.  I'd love to see what you make!

Orange, Black, Cats -- it must be Halloween! for Snapdragon Snippets

Hello, and happy hump day!  How did it get to be Wednesday already? I hope you are having a great week! I am posting today for Snapdragon Snippets.  They have soon many great designs!  The hardest part of this assignment was narrowing down what to make. Since I'm on a quest to get at least 50 Halloween cards made for my nursing home residents, I knew I wanted to make some cards.  Here's what I did....
This first card is the SDS Halloween Black Cat Rocker Card (Silhouette Online Store). It is also available as part of the JGW Bewitched Bootique kit at SVG Attic. OR, you can look for this file in the BRAND NEW Snapdragon Snippets Store!
It was very fun to put together, with it's various layers to cut and assemble.  There is a tutorial here that can help also.
I also made two very easy cards -- 5 minute assembly.  You gotta love that!

These cards are the SDS Candy Corn Card, found in the Silhouette Online Store.  They can also be found at SVG Attic as part of the Spooky Cards set.
Here's one more look at a Candy Corn card-- simple, but really cute!

Halloween is almost here.  I better get my craft on!

Happy Halloooooween! for Eureka Stamps

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps Challenge blog.  This week's theme is 'orange & purple'. With that theme, I HAD to go with Halloween!

I used two Eureka digi Stamps on this card: digi10103(431) -- Halloween Border and digi3907 -- Happy Halloween.  The designer paper s from DCWV.  Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Card stock is from Close To My Heart.  The bats were cut out on my Silhouette, using a file from the Silhouette Online Store.
Join us this week at Eureka Stamps for our Orange and Purple challenge.

Shake your Spook? for The Cutting Cafe

It's Sunday, a day off! Yea!  I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  I am posting today for The Cutting Cafe.  The design team is posting Fall or Halloween themed projects this week.  I chose to work with the Halloween and Fall Shaker card files.  I knew I wanted to make a shaker card.  The hardest part of this assignment was figuring out which one I wanted to make!
If you've been following my blog at all, you know I'm busy making Halloween cards for my nursing home residents, hoping to get at least 50 made by Oct. 31.  We have several residents who are legally blind.  One lady can see shapes and shadows, but no details.  I thought a shaker card with a shape to it would be perfect for her!

I think she'll be able to feel that this is a ghost, just from the shape.  And, there's enough contrast with the colors, she'll see the black, white, and light blue.
I used vellum for a more ethereal, spooky look and some Halloween sequins from Bella Creationz for the shaker part of the card.  I know Betsy will hear those sequins when she shakes the card, and that will make her giggle!
The bats are from the Silhouette Online Store.  The "boo" sentiment are alphabet stickers from Echo Park, as is the designer paper. The Orange Licorice twine is from Timeless Twine. I used lots of 3D foam tape from Close To My Heart to assemble this Ghost shaker card.
I hope you visit the Cutting Cafe blog on Oct. 21st to see all the wonderful inspiration for the rest of the talented design team.  Leave a comment and you'll have a chance to win ANY 3 files of your choice!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Boo! for Fitztown

Happy Hump Day, crafty friends!  I have the pleasure of posting on the Fitztown challenge blog today, with a Halloween inspirational post.  If you are a regular follower of my blog, you know I've been busy making Halloween cards for my residents at the nursing home where I work.  I made another simple one that I can easily make more of using a fun Fitztown image:

I used Fitztown image Halloween 7 on this card.  Halloween 7 is actually a set of 4 Jack-O-Lanterns. I used 1 of the images from the set, and colored it with Copic markers.
The pumpkin shaped card is from the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut it out using my Silhouette Cameo. I used a couple of Lifestyle Crafts circle dies, some Orange Licorice Timeless Twine, and some letter stickers from my stash.
Now, if I can only get about 50 more of these made.  Hmmm. Maybe?

Sailing in the Summer Sun -- for Timeless Twine

I love summer.  I love being on the water.  And I absolutely love being in a sailboat.  So, when I saw this sliding card in the Silhouette Online Store, I knew instantly I was going to make it for a Timeless Twine summer-themed project.  And, it was almost as much fun as being there.  Almost.

This colorful sailboat is sailing along a sea of Aqua Blue Timeless Twine.  When you pull the tab on the right, here's what happens...

Weeeeeeeee!  Can you feel the wind?
The adorable Bella Creationz "Hello Summer" stamp set was used on this card (it's on sale!). I stamped the sun and the sentiment from the set.  This is a GREAT set!

Other supplies used:
Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine 6x6 papers
Close to My Heart Cardstock -- Pacifica
Sailboat Sliding Card by Sweet Afton
Silhouette Cameo
That's it for me.  I'm heading outside to feel the wind in my face.  All aboard!

I'm Steppin' Out for Fitztown!

Today is my last guest designer post for Fitztown Challenge blog.  I've loved the opportunity to work with the fantastic images given me! And the Creative Team has been wonderful to me!
The newest Fitztown challenge is a step card.  I had great fun with this one!

I love butterflies and this image was wonderful to color!  I have 2 Spectrum Noir markers.  I used both of them on this butterfly.  The butterfly is from "Garden 16", and is one of 6 butterflies that comes in the set.
I intentionally left this center step card very simple, because I wanted the butterfly to be the focus.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.
I used my Silhouette to make the step card, using a design I found here, in the Silhouette Online Store.  The papers are from Carta Bella.
Don't forget to check the Fitztown Challenge blog for tons of wonderful inspiration, and the Fitztown Store is a wonderful place to explore!
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

My First (Intentional) Monochromatic Card

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps.  They don't call these things "challenges" for nothing!  This one scared me!  I have never intentionally made a monochromatic card, although I may have accidentally done it a time or two.  So, setting out to accomplish it set shivers down my spine!  But, I managed it, I think.   In fact, once I figured it out, I decided to make two:

and

I used Eureka Stamps digi 9702 on both of these cards, and colored it with Copic Markers.

The cards were both cut out on my Silhouette.  The butterfly pop up card is found in the Silhouette Online Store.  I used Echo Park cardstock on both cards (same piece of paper, just reversed).
Tell me, which card do you like best?  I can't decided...
And, don't forget to enter the Monochromatic Challenge this week at Eureka Stamps.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
D.L. Art -- Thankful Thursday -- July Linky Party
Fairy Tale Stampers -- Summer (must use stamp/digi)

Flowers and shapes for DigiStamps4Joy

We're in the middle of the shaped card challenge on the DigiStamps4Joy blog, so it's time for a little mid-challenge inspiration.  I love coloring flowers, so that's what I did:

I used the DigiStamps4Joy digi, Cosmos Corsage

I colored the image with Copic markers, blending blues and yellows together. The bracket shaped card cutting file is from the Silhouette Online Store.  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is a Close To My Heart stamp. The beautiful tie dye ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM's new Tie Dye 2 Bundle.  The beautiful stick pin was made for me by my online crafty friend, Randi.

Food -- You Gotta Love This Challenge! for 3 Girl JAM

Today starts a new challenge on the 3 Girl JAM Challenge blog. The theme is a fun one!  Food! (and all things food related).  Here's what I created for a little inspiration on the challenge blog today:
I found this cook's apron card cutting file in the Silhouette Online Store and thought it would work perfectly for the challenge.  I used October Afternoon papers on the card to give it a retro feel.
The tie around the neck?  3 Girl JAM jute string, of course!
Please join the food related challenge at 3 Girl JAM -- it goes all month!

Flowers and Shapes -- Guest designing for Fitztown

Today was supposed to be my last guest designing post for Fitztown, but I'm staying on for another month (yea!), so I'll have 2 more posts with them in July.  Today, I made a shaped card to fit this week's challenge theme.  I LOVE shaped cards, and I LOVE coloring flowers, so this was a particularly fun one for me!

The flower is Fitztown FL1.  I just love all the beautiful floral images in the Fitztown store, and this one is sooooo fun to color with Copic markers!
I cut the shaped card out on my Cameo Silhouette.  I found the card shape in the Silhouette Online Store.  The shaped behind the stamped image is cut with a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is a stamp from Close to My Heart. I finished the card off with some 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon from the new Tie Dye 2 Bundle, then added a stickpin made by my crafty friend, Randi (thanks, Dear!)

I have a giveaway going on, celebrating several events: I wrote my 500th blog post this week, I just reached 400 followers on my blog, and I have over 100 "likes" on my Facebook page, Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  To celebrate all those things,  I'm having a giveaway:  I have some Timeless Twine, some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, a Unity stamp set, a Close To My Heart stamp set, some Pinque Peacock embellishments, a 6x6 paper pad, and various embellishments that I need a home for. I also have two generous sponsors:  DigiStamps4Joy is giving a $10 gift certificate to the store, and The Cutting Cafe is offering any 3 sets.  WOW! If you'd like to be eligible to win, please leave a comment on any of my blog posts between now and July 6.  I'll draw a winner on my birthday.  It's my day, and you get the present!  I'd also love it if you "like" my Facebook page and follow my blog, if you don't already.

Say 'Cheese' for Timeless Twine and my 500th Blog Post!

Woohoo!  This is my 500th blog post!  Cause for a celebration, I think!  I'm also very close to 400 blog followers and have nearly 100 'likes' on my Facebook page, Muddy Paws & Inky Fingers.  So, with so much happening, it's time for a giveaway! More on that at the end of this post.
I'm posting today on the Timeless Twine blog, and I always love to make projects with twine.  It makes me happy.  Today's project is no exception!

I found this little girl silhouette in the Silhouette Online Store, and I thought she was so sweet.  I thought she would compliment the Bella Creationz stamp set, "Oh Snap".
I also used the colors in this month's Timeless Twine Color Challenge: Red, White, and Aqua.
Please join the challenge!  There's great prizes to be won!

All cardstock in this card are from Close To My Heart.
Now, did I mention something about a giveaway?  I have some Timeless Twine (of course!!!), some 3 Girl JAM ribbon, a Unity stamp set, a Close To My Heart stamp set, some Pinque Peacock embellishments, a 6x6 paper pad, and various embellishments that I need a home for. It's time for a little Photo Fun Challenge on the Timeless Twine blog.  The whole darn, talented team is sharing projects that are photo themed -- it can have a photo in it, you can add a photo, a filmstrip, a photo booth prop -- well, you get the idea.  I immediately thought of a camera shaped card.  My faithful followers know I love shaped cards.  But, then I came up with this idea, and went with it:

I found this card in the Silhouette Online Store HERE, if you'd like to try it yourself.  The layered card is by Carinna Gardner, and is a 4x6 size.
I used papers by Echo Park on this card.  The Timeless Twine that's wrapped around the layers is Olive Green

And the darling camera image and sentiment are from the Bella Creationz stamp set, "Oh Snap".  I love, love, love that little camera!  I colored the camera and the sentiment with Close to My Heart markers.

Celebrating the Special Women in My Life

Yesterday was Mother's Day, and although my own mother has been gone for over 9 years now, there are still plenty of women in my life that I like to celebrate.
I'm posting today on the Timeless Twine blog.  This project is the perfect example of how just a little bit of twine can have a big impact.  But, back to those special women...  There are several women who live in the nursing home where I work that are very special to me.  I tell them they are "like a mother to me."  I needed something I could make a few of, in a relatively short period of time, that would look special, but whip up quick.  Enter my Silhouette, favorite papers, ribbon, and Timeless Twine.

I found this Floral Envelope Bag by Jamie Cripps in the Silhouette Online Store.  I thought it would work well for what I wanted -- I could tuck a tag inside, telling the ladies how much they meant to me, and I could make several of them fairly quickly.
I used Fancy Pants Park Bench 12x12 papers, 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon, and of course, a bit of Timeless Twine in Aqua Delight.

I have a close up of the rose.  I have some shimmer paper I purchased at a Scrapbook store that's going out of business. You can see the shimmer better in the close up, and the Timeless Twine, too ;)

I hope all you mom's had a beautiful Mother's Day yesterday, and to all you women out there, know that you are one-of-a-kind individuals, and that's certainly worth a celebration!

Happy Birthday, Jack!

Yea! I made it through Easter! All those rehearsals and church services are finally over -- just in time to go back to work -- the life of a church organist that works full-time, LOL.
My best friend's Golden Retriever, Jack, turns 1 today.  I won't have a chance to celebrate the event until next week because we live 3 hours apart, but I did make a little something to honor the event.
This week, at The Cutting Cafe, the design team had 3 choice of files to work with:

 ALPHABETIC WINDOW CARD TOPS

NUMBER WINDOW CARDS....TEMPLATES - CUTTING FILES

 NUMBER GRID BACKGROUND....PRINTABLE STAMP SET

I chose the Alphabetic Window Card Tops.  Using the set, and the Fun with Blocks cutting file, I made this gift for Jack and my BFF, Sheri:
Here's one side of the blocks:
Here's the side celebrating Jack and his birthday:
another side of the blocks:
the fourth side:
and, in honor of her other Golden Retriever:

These blocks are so fun to make and use for home decor pieces.  I've had these sitting on a 1/2 wall near our kitchen and my husband and I are often re-arranging them, just for kicks.
The dog beside a couple of the pictures was carved by a woman who's husband was in our nursing home for awhile.  She made many carved ornaments and gave them to the staff at Christmas.  I leave this cute dog out year-round.
Papers for this project are by BoBunny.  The heart paw print and the bone were found at the Silhouette Online Store.
Here's to many happy years for Jack.  These will be delivered next week when we get together for "Girl's Week."
Make sure you visit the Cutting Cafe blog on Thursday to see the other inspiration from this talented design team.  Leave a comment and you can win 3 sets of your choice from The Cutting Cafe. Yea!
I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Crafty bloggers Network -- diecut or embossing
Cutie Pie Challenge -- Anything but a Card
Unstampabelles -- incorporate animal or bird (pawprint)

It's the time for another challenge over at

Ch# 11 Create your Own Scene Card
Begins: Saturday, March 1
Ends: Monday, March 31

A blog dedicated to the Silhouette Cutting Machines.
You MUST use a Silhouette somehow in your project.

Sponsor this month is:
This might not be my first scene card, but it was my first attempt at a scene card made entirely on my Silhouette. I've been thinking about this for about 3 months now, and maybe I put way too much thought into it.  All I could think to do was a bird on a fence with a sun behind it.  Clever.  Original.  Scenic.
I wanted something different.  But still a scene.  See what I mean? I over think everything!
Well, after much thought (3 months of thought -- really!)
this is what I made for the "create your own scene card" challenge.

I found this howling wolf (I'm calling it a dog) in the Silhouette Online Store.  The Sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co.
Phew! I did it! A scene card!

Hop on over and join us -- you can't have as much of a struggle as I did!

I'm Allergic to Flowers!

Hello, my friends.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I am allergic to flowers -- especially those with strong scents.  Maybe that's why I struggled with today's projects!
I have two things to show you today.  The Cutting Cafe design team is featuring flowers this week -- either the Layered Flower cutting files or the Paper Flower template and cutting files.
First, I'll show you a Mardi Gras mask I made for a challenge on The Pinque Peacock Challenge Blog. This was totally out of my comfort zone, but it's good for me to stretch and I had fun on this!

I found the mask in the Silhouette Online Store. I offset the original mask to get a little more contrast, then I started embellishing.
Papers for both the projects today are Carta Bella Traditions 12x12.
Here's a close up of the embellishments:

The paper flowers were made from the Paper Flower cutting file from The Cutting Cafe. I worked and worked on these flowers, and finally got 3 that looked good.  Phew!  There's a video with the flowers on The Cutting Cafe, and Tmika Miller does a great job of showing 5 different ways to use these flowers.  She makes it look EASY!
There's other great embellishments on here too, from Pinque Peacock.  I used a small "Farm Fresh" Splendid Swirl, and All Purpose Feathers -- Natural, found at The Discount Hut@Pinque Peacock. There's also a Sparkles Clear Flourish  and a large rhinestone from Close To My Heart. And that's my mask!
Now, on to the card:

I used the same Cutting Cafe Paper Flower cutting file on this flower.  I cut out various sizes of flowers, using double sided paper.  I varied the size of the flower and alternated the color to get this look. The card base is also from The Cutting Cafe. It's the Set of 7 Shaped Cards set.  I love this set! There's Coral Crush ribbon (part of the Caribbean Splash) from 3 Girl JAM on the card, and a Sparkle Flourish from Close To My Heart. The sentiment is part of a stamp set from Unity Stamp Company called "On Vintage Wings".
And that's it for the flowers.  Hope you enjoyed today's floral arrangements.  I'll be back tomorrow with even MORE flowers!

I'd like to enter these projects in the following challenges:
