It's the first of the month, so that means it's time for a new Freebie from The East Wind.  I LOVE this month's image!  I think it works so well for Halloween....

I colored Dragon's Blood with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils.

Dies are from Craftin' Desert Divas, and Sue Wilson.  Papers are from Echo Park.  Stickers are from Making Memories.

Frightfully Delightful for QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge at the QKR Stampede challenge blog.  Our theme this week is "Frightfully Delightful".  I chose a frightful? image to work to make this card:

This image, called "Trick or Treat" (digi9209), is available in the QKR Stampede store. I colored her with Copic markers.
Papers are from Close To My Heart.  I used some alphabet stickers for the sentiment.  Lifestyle Crafts and Spellbinders dies were used to make the circles and scalloped circle. The ghost is an embellishment for Making Memories that I've had forever.
This card, like other Halloween cards I've been making, is heading for the nursing home.  I'm trying to get enough made for all the special ladies and gents that live where I work.  I'm slowly getting there!  How many more days until Halloween? I better get busy! Eek!

A great gift box -- for The Cutting Cafe

I love making gift boxes and bags.  They are one of the favorite things I make with my diecut machines.  So, when Regina, from The Cutting Café, gave us the assignment of making a pizza box this week, I was very excited.  And, as it turned out, I needed a box for my Sister-in-law's birthday gift.  Perfect!
I set to work, picking out my papers and deciding how to embellish the box. Here's what I came up with...

The pizza box was very easy to cut out and assemble. I used Pink Paislee Prairie Hill 12x12 papers on this project.  I loved working with them -- they have a nostalgic feel to them.  I used a chipboard tag from Bazzill, covered it with designer paper, and used a Unity Stamp on it from the Sweet Celebration birthday set.  The rhinestone brad is from Making Memories, and the twine bow is Trendy Twine.
Here's a view of the inside of the box:

The bow is also from The Cutting Café.  It's called "Loopy loopy bow flower" cutting file.
I'll leave you with a close up of the bow and sentiment...

That's it for me today.  I'm off to make more pizza boxes!  I love this thing!

I'm spreading Halloween cheer -- for Pinque Peacock

Hello, my crafty friends.  Thanks so much for stopping by today! I have a quick and easy card I made, showcasing a fabric button from Pinque Peacock.  I'm still making Halloween cards to hand out to my nursing home residents, and this is another one I'll have ready to go for the holiday:

The fabric covered button, with candy corn print, is a 3/4 inch button.  They are the perfect size for cards.  L-O-V-E!
The card was cut out on my Cricut.  I made it big enough to fit into a business size envelope. I used a printable stamp from The Cutting Café for the focal piece.  You can find it HERE.  I didn't even have to color it! I just printed it, trimmed it, and voila! it was ready to go. Super simple! I added a couple of spooky glittery brackets from Making Memories, some Halloween twine from Trendy Twine, and the card is complete.
I hope you enjoyed today's card! I had a great time making it.

It's Take Out Boxes at The Cutting Cafe!

This week at The Cutting Café, it's all about Chinese Take Out boxes.  The whole design team is making them, and I'm sure there will be a great variety of decorations, papers, and themes used on this week's assignment.
I'm in a Halloween mode right now, and I thought this box was the perfect size for a little treat box filled with Halloween candy, so that's the theme I went with...

I used Spellbound 12x12 papers from Close To My Heart on this box.  The glitter brads, puffy ghosts and bats are all from Making Memories. I cut the box out on my Silhouette, and it went together very quickly.
Here's another view of the treat box:

The Chinese take out box is the perfect size to hold some chocolates, a gift card, a pair of socks, any little Halloween trinket. Remember to comment on the Thursday post over at The Cutting Café for a chance to win 3 sets of your choice.  It's a great way to add to your library!
Don't mind me, I have more boxes to make!

For Mom and Friends With Flair

I had the afternoon off and spent it making cards.  I made this card with the Trendy Twine April challenge in mind.  I'm entering it in Crop Chocolate's challenge this week, too -- a neutral color and twine, plus I used the sketch from cardabilities blog so I'll enter it there and a couple of other Mother's Day and Spring challenges.  Also, Color Me Creative is having their 3rd birthday celebration.  I broke out the Copics so I could participate in their first challenge  of the weekend. Here's my afternoon's work...

I got some Trendy Twine in the mail yesterday.  I have to tell you, it's my newest addiction!  I bought the Spring Mini and just had to break it out of the package.  It's soooo pretty.  I used all three colors on this card -- limeade, tickled pink, and lemon tart. I want more, LOL.  The papers are all Carta Bella.  The base is Kraft.  Everything you can see is So Noted 6x6.  I used dies by Spellbinders and Lifestyle crafts.  The flower stamp was stamped twice -- once on the circle, then again on Cryogen paper, colored with Copic markers, painted with peach Creative Inspirations paint to give it some shimmer, and fussy cut.  It is a Unity Stamp, "Best Things Just Happen".  The MOM banner was made with a Making Memories Dilly Dally clear stamp set.  And, I probably don't have to tell you, I made it for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day.  Hopefully, she won't read my blog before then!

I already linked up once for Friends With Flair, but since this is a Unity stamp, I'll link again.
