Oh Deer! Winter is Here! For Bugaboo Stamps

Here we are in the coldest days of winter where I will.  Often it is well below zero, with temperatures too cold to snow.  The good news is, the weather is perfect for staying in and crafting!

I'm posting today for Bugaboo Stamps.  On the Catch the Bug Blog, it's Anything But a Card day. When I was trying to decide my project for today, I decide on a tag that I could easily tuck inside a card.  I have a young friend I often send cards to. I thought she might enjoy this tag:

I've colored this deer up every season.  I think he is so darn cute! He's only $1.00 in the Bugaboo Store

I colored the Deer with Copic markers, then computer generated the sentiment.  The plaid paper is from We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is one of the Winter Plaid papers.  The tag is cut out with a die set from Sue Wilson Designs.

Check out what the other designers have made for Anything But a Card today, over on the Catch the Bug Blog

Give Thanks -- for Dies R Us Challenges

It's the start of another month already, and the start of a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  The theme for the next 2 weeks is Give Thanks (thank you, Thanksgiving).  I have much to be thankful for, and I'm forever needing thank you cards (isn't that a blessing?), so I took advantage of today's theme to create this:

That pretty doily that is really the focal point of this card is by Sue Wilson.  It is the Camilla Frame & Tag.  That beautiful butterfly is by Cheery Lynn.  I have a lot of butterflies in my collection, but no one makes them like Cheery Lynn. This is one of a set of 3, called Small Exotic Butterflies #2 with angel wings.  The 'Thanks' Sentiment is part of a Greeting Set by Impression Obsession. It is one of my go-to sets.

The Give Thanks challenge runs until Nov. 14, so you have plenty of time to enter!  Just use a die by a brand that is sold in the Dies R Us Store, and you are good to enter. If you are in Canada, check out of sister store, Didi's Crafts

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Dare 2 Be Artzy -- Thankful
AUD Sentiments -- ATG + a sentment

It's Hot Outside Challenge -- At Dies R Us Challenges

It's the 15th of the month, so it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges. Every 1st and 15th, a new challenge starts, with a new theme.  The theme for this challenge is "It's Hot Outside" (use hot colors -- reds, oranges, yellows).

I decided to take a different take on this challenge, and not go with the obvious summertime theme.  I stuck with red, orange, and yellow, but, well, you'll see...

I started out by inking my background with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink in Barn Door, Carved Pumpkin, and Squeezed Lemonade.  I let the background get good and dry before I went any further.  I've learned I easily get fingerprints!

The feathers are called Fluffy Feathers by Poppystamps, but this set by Impression Obsession are very similar, or this other set, also by Impression Obsession

The 'With Sympathy' sentiment is by Sue Wilson Designs

Lastly, a piece of twine from Timeless Twine finished off the card.

I hope you can join us for our "It's Hot Outside" challenge (use reds, oranges, and yellows).  It will run through the end of the month.  One gift certificate to the Dies R Us Store will be awarded and 3 Designer Choice awards.

If you live in Canada, The Didi Crafts Store ships to both Canada and the US.  Check to out for some great products and prices!

Tis Gingerbread Season -- A new Release for Bugaboo Stamps

It's Tuesday!  It's New Release day at Bugaboo Stamps!  Every Tuesday, you'll find a new release (or sometimes a re-release) that's 1/2 price for a week.  Today's new release will keep you motivated to make those Christmas cards coming.

Here's Gingerbread Christmas Pocket:

I colored Gingerbread Christmas Pocket with Copic markers, then fussy cut it. Those cookies look good enough to eat, don't they?

The papers I used on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop. They are the newly released Victorian Christmas papers

The 'Tis the Season sentiment die and the Christmas icons dies were all purchased at the Dies R Us Store. The sentiment is by Sue Wilson.  The Christmas icons are by Impression Obsession

You can see other fantastic ideas for this cute Gingerbread Christmas Pocket at the Catch the Bug Blog. Then, head to the Bugaboo Stamps Store to pick it up for 1/2 price!

Spreading Christmas Joy -- for Bugaboo Stamps

Christmas in July is coming to an end over on Catch the Bug Challenges.  Hasn't it been a great week?  I've so enjoyed seeing all the wonderful cards and projects!  There's one more freebie for all of you in the Bugaboo Stamps Store.  After all, its Friday!  Yes,
Freebie Friday is upon us again!

Today's freebie is called Knobby Knees Christmas Sack (how's that for descriptive?), and here it is made up into a card!

Today's challenge as part of the Christmas in July festivities is a color challenge.  Here's the color chart:

I followed the colors pretty closely while using Copic markers, and then tried to really bring out the colors in the chart with my paper choices. The presents paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. The glitter and glossy paper are from Crafter's Companion. The Joy sentiment is a die cut from Sue Wilson.

I hope you enjoyed Christmas in July as much as I and the rest of the Bugaboo Stamps design team did. Finish up those challenges for your chance to win great prizes and a chance to guest design with the Bugaboo team!  Check out all the fun at Catch the Bug Blog

Santa's List -- for Bugaboo Stamps

Christmas in July is nearly over :(.   It's been a great week!  There's today and tomorrow yet, so keep on having fun!  Everything happens over at Catch the Bug Blog. Thursday is always Oldie but Goodie day, and today is no exception.  Find your favorite well loved Christmas image and color it up.  There is also a photo challenge to make it even  more interesting today.  And of course, the theme all week is Santa's Workshop.

Bugaboo Stamps has many, many images that will work with today's theme, but I found this one I thought was particularly cute.  I enjoy the AKV (a kid's view) images very much, so I was looking for one of those to color up, and this one matched the photo oh-so-well!

This is AKV Santa Ho Ho Ho, colored with Copic markers, and then fussy cut.  I wanted to keep it all simple, so I made it into a tag, and then put it on the pearlescent red background.

The 2 papers on the tag are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  One is from the Floral Watercolors collection, and the green paper is from Holiday Letters.

The tag and the snowflakes are a set of dies from Sue Wilson.

I hope you can join us at Catch the Bug Challenges for our Christmas in July fun!  We have tons of great prizes for you to win!  Come back tomorrow for One. More. Day!

Bingo Challenge and Surprise Freebie! at Bugaboo Stamps!

Freebie?!?  Did someone say freebie!??! Wow, this week has been so fantastic, and now instead of New Release Tuesday, Jodie is throwing in another Freebie!  This Christmas in July week-long event at Catch the Bug challenges just gets better and better!

Here is Bugaboo Stamps image, Christmas Rocking Horse, free for the Christmas in July festivities.

There's also a bingo challenge to go along with today's freebie.  So, not only did I color Christmas rocking horse with Copic markers, I also followed this bingo card:

I used the bottom row: pattern paper, twine die cut.

The pattern paper I used is from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  I used papers from the Shabby Christmas Collection.  The twine is from Timeless Twine.  I was on their design team long ago and I still have a large stash.  The image is cut out with a die from The Scrapping Cottage.  The Peace sentiment is from Sue Wilson.

I hope you join in on the week-long Christmas in July party, and today's Bingo Challenge at Catch the Bug Challenges!  Don't forget to pick up the freebie in the Bugaboo Stamps Store

Rudolph Tag -- Christmas in July at Bugaboo Stamps

The Christmas in July fun is underway over at Catch the Bug Challenges.  Every Monday is ABC Day, or Anything But a Card.  Today is no exception.  Well, every gift needs a way to identify it, so I went with a tag, but before I show it to you, I want to tell you a little bit more about this year's Christmas in July at Bugaboo Stamps.  One of our long-time design team members, Julie Temple recently died, and this whole week is dedicated to her.  I didn't know her well.  She was having health problem by the time I came on the team, but she was always super sweet and helpful to me.  She lived in Eastern Iowa, so she had lousy Winter weather, just like I do here in Wisconsin.  We were practically neighbors, living hours apart, instead of across the world like some of my teammates do.  Here's one blog link I found from way back in 2012 (yes, she was on this team a long time!) that I particularly enjoyed! Check out the cute card, too!

OK, now for the tag I made for today's Anything But A Card Challenge:

I figure, what better to decorate a gift than a tag with Rudolph on it.  This tag is part of a whole set of tags called AKV Reindeer Names Set.  Each reindeer is in the set, in both black & white and a colored version.  I used the black & white version of Rudolph here and colored it with Copic markers.

I created the tag by using a set of dies by Sue Wilson.  The checked paper is from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  It is one of the Winter Plaid papers.

Back to Julie and her cute card from 2012.  Isn't this adorable?

Card by Julie Temple (We miss you, sweet lady)

I hope you can join in on the Christmas in July festivities happening over on the Catch the Bug Blog.  Here's a photo of today's events.  There are great prizes you can win each day -- including guest designer opportunities!  Come join the fun!

Santa's Workshop Sketch Challenge -- at Catch the Bug

The fun continues at Catch the Bug Challenges with our Santa's Workshop theme.  Today, there is a sketch challenge.  I love using sketches!  They really help me put a card together.  Today's sketch is a great one.  You're going to like it!  First my card, then the sketch.

Santa, of course!

This card uses Bugaboo Stamps digital image, AKV Santa Tree, colored with Copic markers.

Here's the sketch:
I followed it exactly! I don't know if I've ever followed a sketch so closely before, but it worked really well with AKV Santa Tree, my sentiment, and my papers, so I went with it.

The papers in this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop. The pixilated paper on the right is one of the papers in the Holiday Letters Collection.  The Christmas Trees are one of the papers in the Christmas Fun paper pack.

The Ho Ho Ho sentiment is a die cut out of foil paper by Sue Wilson Designs. The Foil and foil tape are from Close To My Heart, and the green dots are from Fun Stamper's Journey.

Head on over to Catch the Bug Challenges for the week-long Christmas in July festivities.  There are prizes to be won everyday, and you could be one of the lucky ones to get a guest designer spot with the wonderful Bugaboo Stamps design team!  It doesn't get much better than that!

Birthday Snowflakes -- for Scrapy Land Challenges

It's the 3rd Wednesday of the month, and that means a new challenge starts today at Scrapy Land Challenges.  Uses a die from the many brands sold in the Scrapy Land Store, and it's Anything Goes.  One winner will get a $15  gift certificate to use in the Scrapy Land Store!

My brother has a birthday early in January and he loves to ski, so I'm always looking for a winter-themed card for him.  This is the card I sent him this year.  It's not skiing related, but definitely makes me think if winter:

That beautiful snowflake die set is from Sue Wilson.  It's called Festive Collection - Bold Snowflake Frame.  It comes with 5 dies, and I used all of them on this snowflake.

The Happy Birthday are dies from Crafter's Companion

The designer papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are part of the Snow Globes Collection.

I hope you join us at Scrapy Land Challenges these next 2 weeks for our Anything Goes with a die from the Scrapy Land Store.

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Poinsettia Peace -- for Dies R Us Inspiration Blog

Happy Christmas Eve!  I'm posting today on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog, and I hope this finds you relaxed and ready for the next few exciting days!

I am sharing a card of peace, just in case you need to slow down and remember to take a breath!

This card uses a Sue Wilson die, sone paper piecing, some foil, and some glitter:

First,  a picture of the supplies (they will be linked below):

The main focal point of the card uses Creative Expressions Craft dies by Sue Wilson, the Festive Collection - Poinsettia Flower Square.  It is currently out of stock, but there are many other similar dies in the Dies R Us Store.

I started by cutting the die out of white card stock, using Stick It Adhesive Sheets behind the poinsettia to make paper piecing easier:

Then, I cut just the inside layer with red, and added that in. It adhered because of the Stick It.

Next, I added the leaves and the gold pearls.

There were some open spaces, so I added white glitter to those.  I also used  a die cut for the Elizabeth Craft Winter Wishes set to cut out the word "Peace".

In this pic, you can see all the die cuts, and the glitter.  The gold square was cut out with a Spellbinders die.

Here are the products used from the Dies R Us Store:

I'll leave you with one more view of my peaceful poinsettia card, and I'll wish you the merriest of Christmases!

I hope you check this blog every day for wonderful inspiration!  The design team is so creative, you don't want to miss anything.  Then, join in the challenges at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  Here's one last link to the Dies R Us Store for you, too!

Ho Ho Ho for Lavinia World Challenges

A new challenge is underway at Lavinia World Challenge, where challenges are always anything goes, as long as you use an acrylic or rubber stamp (nothing digital).  There will be one $15 gift certificate awarded to a lucky winner!  It could be you! The challenge will run for the next 2 weeks.

I am trying to put a wrap on Christmas cards soon, so I made another one for today's challenge:

I started by using the Lavinia paper, Winter Chill for my card base. I then stamped the Moon stamp with Versafine Clair ink in Morning Mist.  I cut out a circle the same size as the moon in acetate, taping it down lightly to hold it in place.  I used several colors of distress inks around the moon to enhance the look of it.  Then, I stamped Christmas Night in Nocturne Versafine Clair Ink.  Lastly, I cut the sentiment with gold glitter card stock out of a Sue Wilson Craft Die.

Lavinia World products used on this card:

There is also a new, exciting FaceBook group to check out!  This is the second challenge now that Anything Lavinia Group also gives you an opportunity to post your projects.  so, if you don't blog, you can still enter our challenges.  Projects posted on the Anything Lavinia Group must include a Lavinia Stamp or paper. Wherever you decode to enter, challenges run for 2 weeks!  Have fun!

Berry Best Wishes -- for Scrapy Land Challenge Blog

It's challenge time!  It's the 3rd Wednesday of the month, and that means it's time for a new challenge at the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog.  Challenges are always Anything Goes, as long as you use a die that Scrapy Land sells.  There are over 55 companies carried in the Scrapy Land Store, so that should be easy!

It's almost strawberry season here in Wisconsin where I live.  In preparation for the joy of the season, I created this card, using an Impression Obsession Strawberry Basket die set.

Doesn't that just make your mouth water?  The circle die behind the  strawberry basket is similar to the Sue Wilson Designs - Noble Collection - Double Stitched Circles.  The sentiment is stamped on to a banner die, similar to the EK Success Cutter Bee Die Set - Banners.

Each time, there are 2 winners at the Scrapy Land Challenges.  Each one wins a $10 gift certificate to the ScrapyLand Store, so get creating!  I'd love to see what you make!

Love Today -- for Scrapyland Challenge Blog

It's the 3rd Wednesday of the month, so it's time for a new challenge on the Scrapyland Challenge Blog.  Challenges are anything goes, as long as you used products sold in the Scrapyland Store, and they will go for 2 weeks.

I used 3 dies to create this card:

I started out by inking a background with 3 different, matching pink  Harmony inks from Spectrum Noir.  I then cut out the circle with a die from Paper Artist that was the same size as the Delicate Butterfly.  The Delicate Butterfly is a die from Memory Box.  Doesn't it have a pretty, lacy, cut?  I'm in love with it!  Speaking of love, I also love the basketweave background die from Sue Wilson that I used on this.

You're Amazing -- for Scrapyland Challenges

It's the first Wednesday of the month, so it's time for a new challenge on the Scrapyland Challenge Blog.  Challenges are always anything goes using a brand that Scrapyland sells, and that go for 2 weeks.

I used 4 dies on this card to create this:

The hoop die is from Neat & Tangled.  I cut it out with some gold foil paper so it would show up nicely against the white background.  The lacy white background is part of a set by Sue Wilson.  It is the Belgian Collection - Bruges die set. I used the 2 outside dies on this.  The swallow die is a Spellbinders die, but you can find a similar one here in the Scrapyland Store.  The black circle inside the gold hoop was cut with a circle die from Paper Artist
