You're a Fin-tastic Friend -- for The Paper Shelter

Hello!  Thanks for visiting my blog today!  Wednesdays always start a new challenge on The Paper Shelter Challenge Blog. Themes are optional now.  You can always enter as an Anything Goes, if you prefer.  This week's optional theme is Mermaid.  There are some great mermaid coloring pages and book in The Paper Shelter Store. I found a single mermaid coloring page that I knew I just had to color! It's called Mermaid's Melody:

I colored Mermaid's Melody with Copic markers, then fussy cut her out.  I found the background stamp at Taylored Expressions and I thought it would work perfectly.  It is a split stamp.  Part of it stamps the water, then the other part stamps the sand.  They blend together seamlessly.  It's very clever!  The sentiment is from a Lawn Fawn stamp set.

I don't often color mermaids or ocean themes, living in land locked Wisconsin, but I really enjoyed this project.  I hope you can join us this week at The Paper Shelter.  I'd love to see your mermaid project, too!  Or, anything else you care to enter!

The above graphic explains the prize structure.  Use a Paper Shelter image.  The prizes are way better if you do!

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I colored Swing High Mice with Copic markers  I had to dig for my tree die, but I knew I had it.  It's by Lawn Fawn.  It was the perfect platform for the clothespin swing.  The sentiment from Hero Arts was the finishing touch.

I hope you can join us these next 2 weeks for our, 'All About Animals' challenge

Snowman Hugs -- A NR at All Dressed Up Stamps

Hello, and thanks for stopping by my blog!  Today, I'm sharing a project using one of the new releases at All Dressed Up Stamps.  There are 3 new ones each month.  They, and all the others, are in the All Dressed Up Stamps Etsy Shop.

My card today uses the darling Snowman Hugs image.  Maybe it's because I live in Wisconsin where snow is plentiful, But I love to color snow and snow shadows break out the blue violets!).  This Snowman Hugs digital stamp was so fun for me!

I colored Snowman Hugs with comic markers.  I used a die set called Christmas Cloche to simulate a snow globe for my image.  The dies are from Concord & Ninth.  The snowflake dies are by Lawn Fawn.  The silver and white glitter papers are from my stash.

I hope you enjoy Snowman Hugs, and I hope you check out the rest of the ADU design team creations. You will find them in the ADU FB group and on the blog.  There's still time to enter the November FB challenge.  The theme is Gems, Sparkle, and/or Shine.

Southwestern Scene -- for Dies R Us Challenges

Good day, Friends!  It's June 1 (already), and it's time for a new challenge on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog The challenge will run until June 14, with a new challenge starting on June 15.  This month's theme is Dads/Masculine.  Use any brand of die in the Dies R Us Store, follow the theme, and link up with us!

Sadly, I no longer need to make Father's Day cards, so I used the masculine option instead:

This card uses a Spellbinders die set called Colorblock Landscape.  I combined it with a sun ray background die from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment and die that cut it out are from the Hero Arts set Message Strips Stamp & Die XL.  The embossing powder I used was the Nuvo Fine Detail -- Copper Blush.

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks!  Just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store

Sweet Birthday Wishes -- for Dies R Us Challenges

It's March 1, and although I'm not doing much creating these days, the months are still going too fast!  March 1 -- that means a new challenge is starting today on the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. In March, the theme is "Anything Goes" -- just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store

I have a young friend who is celebrating her 11th birthday in a couple days.  She & I have been pen pals since she was 8, and although we've never met, she is near and dear to me from all the letters and cards we've exchanged over the years.  She loves my homemade cards, so I wanted a special one for her birthday.  Here's what I created for her big day:

I love shaped cards, and hope she does, too!  I made this card using a Crafter's Companion Create-a-Card die set, Sweet Treats.  The stitched heart, with the sentiment on it, is from Lawn Fawn. It is one of the Just Stitching Hearts die set

I hope you can join us this next 2 weeks for our Anything Goes (as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store) challenge at Dies R Us Challenges. One random winner will receive a gift certificate to the Dies R Us Store.  There are also 3 designer choice awards each challenge.

For our Canadian friends, check out the Didi Crafts Store for a large selection of dies and crafting supplies, with reasonable shipping rates.

Scent with Love -- for Dies R Us Challenges

It's the first of the month, and it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  This month, the theme is Valentines/Love. Just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store, use the theme, and you are good to go!

I picked up some of the recent new release from Lawn Fawn in the Dies R Us Store and thought I'd have a play. This card is for you, and it's scent with love!

I used elements from both the Scent with Love and Scent with Love Add On. I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I colored them with Copic markers, them used the matching Lawn Fawn dies to cut them out.  I cut out the giant XOXO twice.   It is also a new release from Lawn Fawn. I placed all this in front of a nested stitched heart die from Tutti Designs.

The background paper is by AMB Illustrations. I thought it fit the card very well, with it's small hearts and "stitched" appearance.

I hope you join us this next two week's for our Valentine's/Love challenge.  There will be a gift certificate awarded and 3 designer choice awards.

For our friends in Canada, check our Didi Crafts. They have a great selection of crafting supplies and reasonable shipping rates!

Poppy Love -- for Ching Chou Kuik

It's Tuesday, and it's my day to post on the Ching-Chou Kuik inspiration and challenge blog. I love my days when I get to color up and share the beautiful Ching-Chou Kuik images

The current challenge is just getting underway with the theme of "All You Need is Love." I hope you join us with your Valentine/love creations.

For my inspiration card today, I used the beautiful image, Red Poppies.  It is a black & white image that I colored with Copic markers.

After I colored Red Poppies, I fussy cut it.  I found the perfect background paper for our "All You Need is Love" challenge in the We Are 3 Digital Shop. It is from the Touch of Teal Collection.

The giant XOXO die is from Lawn Fawn.  The filigree heart is from Cheery Lynn.  They were both purchased in the Dies R Us Store

Check out the Ching-Chou Kuik Inspiration and challenge blog often for great inspiration. For more great ideas, and another challenge, visit the CCK Facebook Group.

A Cheerful Snowman -- For The Paper Shelter

The Paper Shelter design teams have had a bit of a break, but we're starting up today with an easy challenge to get us started for 2022.  The theme this week at The Paper Shelter Challenge is "Color It".  If you color up a Paper Shelter image and win the challenge, you get a $30 gift certificate to the Paper Shelter Store.  Otherwise, it's any 3 images of your choice.  Either way, that's a great prize!

It is very much winter in Wisconsin (where I live). Today, we started the day at -12 degrees Fahrenheit.  That is waaaaaayyyyy cold!   Neither myself or my dog spent much time outside until it warmed up to above zero.  Then, we ventured out on a couple walks. I love being outside in all types of weather and enjoy participating in winter sports -- even making snowmen!  This is one of the cutest I've seen in a long time, and is named, appropriately enough, A Cheerful Snowman:

I colored A Cheerful Snowman with a combination of Copic and Spectrum Noir markers.  I made the easel card with a set of dies from Crafter's Companion.  The papers and sentiment die are also from Crafter's Companion.

You have all week to enter our "Color It" challenge at The Paper Shelter Challenges. I'd love to see what you create!

The panels are from the Color Me Christmas Collection.  I computer generated the sentiment and cut it out with a die from Queen and Company.  The snowflakes are dies from Lawn Fawn.

I colored I Heart Dogs with Copic markers, then used a slimline die to cut it out.  It's by Tutti Designs, as it the heart framed slimline die.  I got both of them at the Dies R Us Store. The stitched heart dies are by Lawn Fawn, also purchased in the Dies R Us Store

Brrrrr! For Dies R Us Challenges

It's the 15th of the month, and it's time for a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  Challenges are now always Anything Goes, as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store.  There are hundreds of dies in the store, so this is easy to do!

It's the heart of Winter, and these are traditionally the coldest weeks of the year here in NW Wisconsin.  It's a good thing I like winter!  I wanted to embrace winter, and this little polar bear seems to be celebrating the season!

This adorable sledding bear is part of a set by Sue Wilson, of Creative Expressions.  It's called the Festive Collection - Polar Bear Playtime.  There's also an ice skating polar bear.  Cute, cute!

The drifted snow was created with dies from Lawn Fawn.  These are the Stitched Hillside Borders dies.

The 'Brrrrr' sentiment is one of many in the Elizabeth Craft Winter Wish Sentiment Set

There are great shopping opportunities at both the Dies R Us Store and the Didi Crafts Store (for Canadian shoppers).

I hope you can join our Anything Goes Challenge at Dies R Us Challenges.  This challenge will go until the end of the month!

Christmas Joy -- For Dies R Us Challenges

It's December 1st,  and that means it's the start of a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog. Our challenges run for 2 weeks (this one goes until Dec. 14), and they have themes.  The current theme is "Christmas".  Now, that's a perfect theme to finish up, or maybe tackle those Christmas cards! Just use a brand of die sold in the Dies R Us Store, and link up at Dies R Us Challenges

Here's my Christmas card for the Dies R Us Challenge

There's a lot going on with this card.  Let me tell you how it's made:  The poinsettias are made with a die from Memory Box called Poinsettia Bloom Trio. They layer so nicely! The oval is from a Spellbinders set. I cut it out with a piece of gold foil paper.  Gluing it was a bit of a challenge, but it cut beautifully! The stitched rectangles are by Lawn Fawn.  They are from both the small and the large Stitched Rectangle Stackables.  The 'Joy' sentiment is one of the sentiments in the Winter Wishes set by Elizabeth Craft Designs.  This is a great set, and one I reach for often.

The designer papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are from the Victorian Christmas Collection

You'll find many wonderful dies and other  supplies in the Dies R Us Store.  If you are from Canada, you'll want to check out the sister store, Didi Crafts for more great products, and great shipping rates!

I used a darling image, found in the SheepSki Designs Etsy Shop, called Christmas Bunny to create this:

I colored Christmas Bunny with Copic markers.  The blue snowflake background paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The snowbanks are made with die from Lawn Fawn, and are cut out of glitter paper, but it's difficult to see in this picture.  The Hello winter sentiment and dies are from Crafter's Companion.

And relax... a New Release for All Dressed Up Stamps

You may have seen this image on Facebook, especially if you are involved with Kit and Clowder.  It was given away as a freebie last weekend by the generous Wendy of All Dressed Up Stamps for anyone that wanted to color it. It is also one of 4 New Releases this month at All Dressed Up Stamps. I think this image, And Relax, is so precious (and very appropriate for our times).

I wanted some nice, bright colors for this little yoga girl.  So, using Copic markers, I used YG's and YR's on the outfit.  The plaid paper is from a Lawn Fawn paper pad. The stepper card is cut out with a die from Sizzix. the flowers are by Prima.

The other super talented designers from the All Dressed Up team will be sharing their new release makes on Facebook and on the blog today.  I hope you check it out!

Wintery Treat Bags -- for We Are 3 Digital Shop

It's a long cold winter where I live,  and we are always getting creativity when it comes to ways to pass the time until the warm weather rolls around again.  Crafting fills a lot of time, but I love to be outdoors, too.  Recently some friends and I went on a snowshoe picnic.  It was us, our dogs, and a hike through the woods.  We stopped about 1/2 way and ate a little lunch.  I brought these treat bags along for a fun wintery surprise, carried in my dog's backpack:

The bags are small, measuring 3x4.  Each one has 2 small squares of my favorite chocolate.  I figured that was just enough energy to get us back to the trailhead!

There were 5 of us on the adventure, so I made 5 bags altogether, using a die from Lawn Fawn.  They all use We Are 3 Digital Shop images and digital papers.

This bag uses Snowman Heart Mitten image and a paper from Loving Winter

The other bags all use various elements from the Snowflakes images and papers from Shabby Christmas:

There you have it!  Easy to put together, fun for the get together, and they were a hit!

Take Time to Chase the Snowflakes -- a New Release at All Dressed Up Stamps

It's the 22nd of the month, so we're showcasing new releases at All Dressed Up Stamps today in the All Dressed Up Facebook Group.  There are 4 new releases this month, all available in the All Dressed Up Stamps Etsy Shop.  I had the pleasure of playing with the delightful Bear Hat

I colored Bear Hat with Copic markers, then fussy cut the image.

I used papers from We Are 3 Digital Shop to create the card.  There's a piece from Shabby Christmas (the one with stars on it -- the die cut rectangle), there's a piece from Color Me Christmas ( snowflakes on the background piece), a piece from Loving Winter ( the  pink strip that says "warm winter wishes"), and the snowflakes are cut out of a piece from the Frozen Collection

The sentiment is an acrylic stamp from Stampendous, and the snowflakes are dies from Lawn Fawn.  Oh, and that stitched rectangle is from The Scrapping Cottage.

I hope you visit the All Dressed Up Facebook Group to see the other New Releases this month and what the other designers made with them (so CUTE!) Then, enter the challenge there!  I'd love to see what you create!

Santa Treat Boxes -- for Scrapy Land Challenges

Wednesday! One week until Christmas!  Is that even possible?  Since this is the 3rd Wednesday of the month, we are starting a new challenge over at Scrapy Land Challenges. Challenges are always Anything Goes, as long as you use a brand of die sold in the Scrapy Land Store.  One winner will receive a $15 gift certificate to go shopping in the Scrapy Land Store!

I made these delight tiny treat boxes to give a  few pieces if candy to my friends in the nursing home.  I'm always looking for ways to bring them a little "something"

This tiny gift box is by Lawn Fawn.  I also used the Tiny Gift Box Holiday Hats Add On. The boxes make up very quickly, and the box itself comes with cute embellishments -- a star,  several hearts, a darling bow, and a tag.

OK, I know we are all busy this next couple weeks, but I really hope you find time to join us at Scrapy Land Challenges!

A Blizzard of Kisses -- for Dies R Us Inspiration Blog

I'm posting today on the Dies R Us Inspiration Blog, where I always have such fun playing with the wonderful stamps and dies found in the Dies R Us Store

I very much enjoy the pre-orders and special events that the Dies R Us Store has to offer.  I have gotten to try out some brands of dies and stamps that I don't find in my local (limited) craft shop. I, for one, look forward to seeing what the weekend will have to offer.  To find out about the pre-orders and special sales, sign up for the Dies R Us newsletter.

One of the last several weekends,  the Dies R Us Store offered stamps and dies from Picket Fence Studio.   I had seen this particular stamp and die set, but jumped at the chance to purchase and work with it.

This card uses 'Have a Wonderful Wintery Day':

Here's a picture of all the supplies used for this card:

I don't often get out my watercolor supplies, but this little snowman seemed to need it.  I used Spectrum Noir Aquablend pencils on him.

Here he is, all colored up:

I don't always purchase the matching dies for stamp sets, but in this case, I'm really glad I did.  The stamps are small, and I would not want to try to fuzzy cut around those stick arms!!

My camera got switched to manual, so I apologize for this blurry photo. I wanted you to see, though, how the die is positioned over the colored stamp, and held in place with washi tape.

Hopefully, you can see all that!

Here's everything die cut.  I used snowflake dies from Lawn Fawn, and a stitched circle die, also from Lawn Fawn.  The sentiment is included in the 'Have a Wonderful Wintery Day' Stamp Set.

The designer papers on this card are from We Are 3 Digital Shop.  They are 2 of the papers offered in the Snowmen Paper Collection.

I'll leave you with one more photo of the wonderful wintery card!

I hope you check the Dies R Us Inspiration blog every day for wonderful inspiration!  The design team is so creative, you don't want to miss anything.  Then, join in the challenges at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  Here's one last link to the Dies R Us Store for you, too!
