Cinderella -- Guest Designing at The Outlawz Sunday Challenge

Happy Sunday, stamping friend!  I'm guest designing again this Sunday at The Outlawz for their Sunday Songs & Rhymes Challenge.  I was there last week, too, and I had so much fun.

This week, the song is Lavenders Blue.  It's a modern Cinderella song.  So, what better than Cinderella's shoe, right?

I used an SVG cutting file from The Cutting Cafe to make this high heel shaped card.  The papers are a stack from DCWV.   I found the Cinderella quote on line, but I'm sure she said it!  The embellishment is from Close To My Heart.

There's not much else to say about this card.  It rather speaks for itself.

I want to thank Lynn Cupido and the rest of the team for the opportunity to guest design both this week and last week.  I had a wonderful time, and I know I'll be back participating in more Outlawz Sunday Challenges!  Thanks for the wonderful opportunity!

Thankful for You -- and QKR Stampede

Happy Friday!!!  It's time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede Challenge Blog.  Our optional theme this week is 'Give Thanks', or you can always enter an Anything Goes project.

With Thanksgiving just around the corner, I thought this would be a great card for this challenge...

This card uses 2 digis from Eureka Stamps -- Fall Frame (ES-digi56801), and I am So Thankful (ES-digi37603).  I colored Fall Frame with Copic markers.  Backing papers are from DCWV.  The card stock is from Close To My Heart.

Our optional 'Give Thanks' challenge at QKR Stampede Challenge Blog will last all week, so I hope you can join us!

Take Time to Smell the Pumpkins -- for QKR Stampede

It's Friday the 13th!  Yikes!  At the nursing home where I work, we're having all sorts of fun with the lucky day, and I hope you do, too!
It's also time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede Challenge Blog.  Our optional theme this week is "Pumpkins", or you can always enter an Anything Goes project.

Here's my pumpkin-themed inspiration for you:

This card uses QKR Stampede digi stamp, Pumpkin Vine (Q-digi18802) and Smell the Pumpkins (ES-digi22004).  I colored Pumpkin Vine with Copic markers, then used scalloped Lawn Fawn dies to cut it out and back it.  The backing paper is from a DCWV Halloween/Fall stack.  The Smell the Pumpkins sentiment was cut out and backed with a Spellbinders die and gold paper.  The leaf accents are also from Spellbinders Paper Arts.

I hope you can join us this week at QKR Stampede Challenge blog for our optional pumpkin themed challenge.  I'd love to see what you make!

Thanks Snow Much!

After nearly 3 years, this is my final post for 3 Girl JAM.  It has been a glorious ride, full of learning, friendships, and lots and lots of crinkle ribbon!  It is with heartfelt thankfulness to Julie, owner of 3 Girl JAM,  that I write this final post.

I am sharing a card today, using some of my favorites --

The image on this card is from PPinky Dolls Art.  I colored her with Lyra Rembrandt  Polycolor Pencils on Kraft paper.  Designer papers are from DCWV. The sentiment is computer generated.

The rich, cocoa brown ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM, of course!  It's the Hot Chocolate ribbon from the Hot & Cold Bundle.   To give it just a bit more sparkle, I added a bow of Silver Cord from the Holiday Trim Bundle.

Be watching the 3 Girl JAM Facebook page to hear about some upcoming specials that you won't want to miss!

I promised to announce the winner of the 3 Girl JAM ribbon bundles from Emily's 16th Birthday Blog Hop today.  Chosen by Random.org, the winner is Sunshine Honeybee!  Congratulations! Please leave me a way to contact you to collect your prize.

My Wish for Christmas -- for The Cutting Cafe

This time, at The Cutting Cafe, the designers are featuring anything Christmas.  Since I love creating shaker cards, that's the direction I went.

This card reflects my wish for Christmas...

This is probably a wish that many of us have, but this year, it seems particularly poignant.

I made this card using the Christmas Word Shaker Card cutting file from The Cutting Cafe.  I filled the shaker with micro beads.  Papers are from DCWV.  The poinsettia is from Close To My Heart.

Check out the Cutting Cafe blog to see what the other designers have created with the many, many Christmas files available from The Cutting Cafe.   Leave a comment on the blog on or after Dec. 21, and you could win 3 files of your choice!

Today, I used Lil Gypsy (jl748):

I printed Lil' Gypsy onto Kraft paper, then colored her with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils.  I used 2 sizes of a Die-namics stitched die to cut her out and mounted the image on designer papers from DCWV.   The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

Give Thanks for Autumn

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps. This week's theme, in keeping with the season, is "Give Thanks".  I'm thankful for many things, including the awesome Fall we had here in NW WI.  I say HAD, as we are now into full-blown winter -- a foot of snow on the ground and below zero temperatures already.  Still, today's card speaks of Fall:

I used Eureka Stamps digi "Pumpkin Square" digi26703(530).  I colored it with Copic markers, fussy cut it, then mounted it on a piece of DCWV cork.  The DP is also DCWV.  This is some paper I won earlier this fall, and I've enjoyed it very much!
The leaves are from a Tim Holtz die.  I cut out a bunch of them, then used various Tim Holtz distress inks and water on them.  The sentiment is a die cut from Carta Bella.  I mounted it on burlap ribbon from Close To My Heart. Lots of texture on this card!
Give thanks this week (and every week) with your creations, and link them up with us at Eureka Stamps

This adorable sorceress is from sheet 614.  I chose to color her with Copic markers.
The papers are from DCWV.  I covered UmWow Studio chipboard stars withDistress Stickles to tie the card together.  The sentiment is computer generated.

Fab Shoes! for Amy Doodle Stamp Co.

Hello, and happy Tuesday, crafty friends!  I'm super excited to be posting today as my first official post on the Amy Doodle Stamp Co. design team!  These digis are just soooo cute and fun to color!

I got together with two of my best friends for lunch yesterday and wanted to take treat boxes with some chocolate in them for a small gift.  This digi worked perfectly!

This delightful witch is called "Witchy Wilda". I colored her with Copic markers, using some unusual skin tones and hair color (unless, of course, you are a witch!) She is stylin', though, with that fab hat and those SHOES!
I cut her out on a Spellbinder die and mounted it on a treat box that I cut out on my Cricut.  I used the Cricut Close To My Heart Artiste cartridge.  The designer papers are by DCWV.  The sequins are from Simon Says Stamp. I used 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon to tie the box together.
You'll be seeing lots more wonderful fun from Amy Doodle Stamp Company.  Check out the Facebook group, too! We have lots of fun and there's learning and encouragement going on there also.

Happy Halloooooween! for Eureka Stamps

It's Monday, and time for a new challenge at Eureka Stamps Challenge blog.  This week's theme is 'orange & purple'. With that theme, I HAD to go with Halloween!

I used two Eureka digi Stamps on this card: digi10103(431) -- Halloween Border and digi3907 -- Happy Halloween.  The designer paper s from DCWV.  Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  Card stock is from Close To My Heart.  The bats were cut out on my Silhouette, using a file from the Silhouette Online Store.
Join us this week at Eureka Stamps for our Orange and Purple challenge.

The Witch Is IN! For QKR Stampede

It's Friday, and time for a new challenge on the QKR Stampede Challenge Blog.  This week's theme is:  The Witch Is In.  I created another card to use for a resident in the nursing home where I work -- nothing too spooky!

This card uses QKR Stampede digi19605 -- witch, and the sentiment is Eureka Stamps digi3907.
I recently won a challenge and the prize was $100 worth of DCWV products.  The Designer papers on this card are some of the prize.  Woohoo!
I used 2 Lifestyle Crafts circle die on this card.  The bats were cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.

Always Wear Your Invisible Crown!

I have this dog, Sophie.  Everyone calls her the princess.  She's my Golden Retriever that goes to work with me everyday.  She has free reign of the nursing home.  That's 97 residents.  And 145 staff.  And families.  And volunteers. And....well, you get the picture.  She's the princess.  So, when given a choice of The Cutting Cafe assignments this time (Top Hat Set, Party Hat Set, or Assorted Crowns), there was really no choice.  It HAD to be the Assorted Crown set.  And, it HAD to be all about Sophie:

I made this layout of Sophie, at the nursing home, with some of her subjects friends.  She's with some nursing students who instantly fell in love with her, 2 young girls who spent all afternoon lying right beside her, and she's with 2 of the ladies that she spends time with each and every day.  Sophie is a well-loved dog!  I could go on for hours about the benefits of having a free-roaming dog in a nursing home, but I think these pictures speak for themselves.  Does this look like an institution or a home?  Do you see people living in these pictures or waiting around for life to end?  Sophie may be the princess, but being princess is no easy job!
The Path of Positivity Challenge Blog has a theme of "Dreams".  Sophie fulfills many dreams for the residents of the nursing home where she and I work.  She is the reason some of them get out of bed in the morning.  They have to make sure her water dish is filled, they have to make sure and "save her a little something" at meals, they have to go to the activity room to "see what Sophie is up to."  She is a dream maker and fullfiller of dreams at the same time.  Our dreams change as we age and become simpler.  Finding joy in something as basic as a beautiful dog makes life better.  I truly believe that Sophie knows she is at work and has a job to do.  Her favorite rooms seem to be the hospice rooms where she spends countless hours with families.  Yeah, she's the princess, but she deserves the title!
Here's a closeup of the sentiment stamp (it's from Close To My Heart), and Sophie.  The crown I placed above her head is from the Assorted Crown Cutting Files set.  Seriously, that dog was made to wear a crown!

Here's a closeup of another crown I used in the set:

I used my Cricut to cut the heart overlay (CTMH Artbooking Cartridge) and my Silhouette to cut the crowns and the Sophie font.  All products are by CTMH, except the 2 foil papers I used on the crowns -- they are DCWV.
I haven't made a layout for a long time, so it was fun to take some pictures and make this one.  Sophie is a great subject to scrapbook about!
Make sure to check out the Cutting Cafe blog on July 21 to see the rest of the projects by the talented design team.  Leave a comment and you may win 3 sets of your choice. Fun!!

Card in a Box -- for Pinque Peacock

It's Friday! And a very special one for me.  This is my last day of full-time work.  I'm starting 3 weeks of vacation.  When I go back to work, it will be part-time.  After working 45-50 hour weeks the last 30 years of my life, I still can't believe that I'll be working 3 days a week.  I hope the plan works!
I'm posting today on the Pinque Peacock blog.  I have a delightful card in a box that was on my blog yesterday.  It's so cute, I'm showing it again today.
These card in a boxes are so popular right now, that I just had to try it.  This one is a file from The Cutting Cafe. And, it was very fun to make.

I have several views of the box.  Here's a straight on shot of it:

I made this card for my BFF.  We're both big dog lovers, so I used some Unity stamps that had a dog theme to them.

What makes this card-in-a-box different from others, though, is the Pinque Peacock 3/4 inch yellow fabric covered button.

I attached the fabric covered button  to the middle of a flower.  It matched the yellow of the DCWV paper perfectly, and added that extra little something. Beautiful!
This was my fist card-in-a-box, but it certainly won't be my last.  I loved creating this with my Silhouette.

I've Been Wanting to Try One of These!

Card in a box here, card in a box there.  I've been seeing these adorable card in a boxes everywhere.  Today, for The Cutting Cafe, I had a chance to make one.  And, they are as much fun as they look!
I have a few different views of my very first Card In a Box from The Cutting Cafe.

The fun part about these cards is they fold flat and fit in an envelope for mailing.  This is the large box.  The Card In a Box cutting file has two sizes and two envelopes that come with it.  There's also a Card in a Box Embellishment set that I used on the card.
Here's a side angle of the card in a box.

I did some stamping on it, because I love to stamp.  The stamps are from Unity Stamp Company.  The set is called, "I Ruff You".  I plan to give this card to my BFF.  We're both huge dog lovers, so it needed to have a dog theme to it and these stamps were just what I needed for the card. Here's a close up of the stamped images:

These cards are so fun because they can be embellished many different ways.  Here's a closeup of the embellishments I added, all from the Cutting Cafe's Card in a Box Embellishment Set,

The pretty yellow button in the center of the flower is from Pinque Peacock.  It's a 3/4 inch fabric covered button.
I bought the papers at my LSS for $3.00!  They are a 6x6 stack from DCWV.  The box itself, cut on my Silhouette, is made from white Close To My Heart cardstock.
This may be my first card in a box, but it's definitely not my last.  You've got to try one of these!

Every girl needs shoes for the party!

It's Thursday, crafty friends, and we're already more than 1/2 way through September.  How did that happen?  3 Girl JAM is celebrating all month long! It's the 2 year anniversary of this wonderful company.  There have been many giveaways and even a sale or two.  It's been a great month so far, and there's more to come!
You may remember early in the month when I made a purse shaped card, perfect to take to a party?  It looked like this:

Well, today, I have a high-heel shoe card to match!

Wouldn't they rock any party outfit! I used 3 Girl JAM tuxedo ribbon from the Celebrations bundle. The high heel shoe is a cutting file from The Cutting Café, one of the many great sponsors this month of prizes for 3 Girl JAM.
Papers for both the purse and the shoe card are from the DCWV, The Black Currant Stack.  All the bling is from Close To My Heart.  When I enlarged this picture, I see there is a dog hair on the shoe.  That is courtesy of either Sammy or Sophie!

I wrapped the box up with Sterling ribbon from the 3 Girl JAM Celebrations bundle. The box was cut out from a file I found in the Silhouette Store. You can find it here. The tag was stamped with a Unity stamp from the Happy Everything set, and tied with a little Trendy Twine.
Want to know what's inside the box?  Of course you do!

It's an exploding box with a three-tied paper cake inside.  And of course, it's decorated with a 3 Girl JAM ribbon flower on top. I used the same Sterling ribbon from the Celebrations bundle because this is a P-A-R-T-Y! There's also a vintage button from the 3 Girl JAM store on the very tippy top of that 3 layered cake. Looking yummy, isn't it? The papers are from DCWV -- The Black Currant stack.

The designer papers are from DCWV --The Black Currant Stack. The ribbon flower is, of course, from 3 Girl JAM. It is Tuxedo from the Celebration Bundle.  There's also a fabric covered button from Pinque Peacock to really dress up this purse. Because every girl needs a fancy purse to take to the party, right?
Want to know what's inside the purse?

Happy Labor Day, everyone! Have you hit the stores for any good sales? How about the Pinque Peacock Store? There's lots of pretties to be found at great prices!

It is a purse shaped treat box from The Cutting Café.  You can find the file HERE. It comes with a matching purse shaped card that just might show up on this blog later this week (hint, hint,)
I used a Pinque Peacock Chevy Metal cloth covered button to really make that ribbon flower pop.  The ribbon is 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon from the Celebrations bundle and the Spooky bundle.
And, here's the other side of this fabulous purse.

Don't you just love that sentiment? Who knew Bo Derek was so full of wisdom?
All the stamped sentiments are from Unity Stamp Company and Close To My Heart.  The paper is from DCWV.
