I found a file I just HAD to try at SVG Attic, and cut it out on my Silhouette, of course.  What do you think?

It's from the SVG Attic Pretty Purses file.  I used papers and a brad from the My Mind's Eye Collectable collection.  The ribbons are all scraps I've been saving from 3 Girl JAM.
Here's another view:

I wonder how well it would hold up on my walk to work?

Head in over to see what the DT has created for your inspiration and link up today.

This might not be my first scene card, but it was my first attempt at a scene card made entirely on my Silhouette. I've been thinking about this for about 3 months now, and maybe I put way too much thought into it.  All I could think to do was a bird on a fence with a sun behind it.  Clever.  Original.  Scenic.
I wanted something different.  But still a scene.  See what I mean? I over think everything!
Well, after much thought (3 months of thought -- really!)
this is what I made for the "create your own scene card" challenge.

I found this howling wolf (I'm calling it a dog) in the Silhouette Online Store.  The Sentiment is a stamp from Unity Stamp Co.
Phew! I did it! A scene card!

Hop on over and join us -- you can't have as much of a struggle as I did!

Boxes! Boxes! Boxes!  I love making anything 3D.  The hardest part of this month's challenge was choosing which one to make.  I tried something new for me.  What do you think?

This is a file from SVG Attic, and the box is BIG! It used 2 12x12 pieces of paper, connected to an octagon base.  It'll hold a lot of Valentine chocolates for my special someone, let me tell you!
The cranberry cardstock is Close To My Heart.  The designer paper is American Crafts, "XOXO".
Here's a better view at the top of the box, how it makes a heart, and the hearts make a flower:

Maybe it's the cold, cold weather here in NW Wisconsin (it was -28 degrees when I got up this morning), but when I thought about what to create for this month's challenge at Silhouette Challenges, all I could think about was hot chocolate.  So, I came up with a cute way to give a gift to a co-worker:

I cut this out on my Silhouette, of course, using a file from My Scrap Chick. There's a little 3 Girl JAM ribbon, in Hot Chocolate color on there, too. Here's a view with the hot chocolate tucked inside:

There, I feel warmer already!
Come join our "Anything Goes" challenge over at the Silhouette Challenges blog.  I'd love to see what you create!

My father-in-law's birthday is today.  He is a tea drinker, so I wanted to make him a gift that reflected that.  We got him a gift certificate to the local book store, and I made this to put it in...

I found this teapot gift box file in the Silhouette online store. I used Sarita papers from Close To My Heart, and cut it out on my Cameo.  My in-laws collect art from the Southwest US, and this paper reminded me of some of the art they collect.
Here's another view of a slightly different angle:

I made him a card to match the theme.  Here it is:

This teapot shaped card is a cutting file from The Cutting Café. Ribbons on both projects are from 3 Girl JAM. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co., and is mounted on a piece of wood veneer, also from Unity.
How's that for a coordinated pair of gifts?
I hope you like my inspiration for the 3D challenge.  Now, go check out what the others made, and make your own 3D creation!

I decided to make something for Thanksgiving.  I often feel it is so overlooked, and I'm not quite ready to launch into Christmas yet. I found this adorable card that I could make on my silhouette and thought it would be perfect!

The card is a cutting file from The Cutting café called Pumpkin Trio. I used paper from an old 6x6 paper pack I had never used -- a Samantha Walker Orchard Harvest pad. The base is Close To My Heart 12x12 cardstock in Topiary. The bling is from Close To My Heart.  The ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  It is Sunflower ribbon from the Harvest Bundle. The sentiment, "Give thanks" is from the Joy's Life stamp set, "It's All Fall Puns".

Critters!  October!  Halloween!
That was the sequence my thoughts took when trying to figure out what project to make for this month's challenge at Silhouette Challenges.  I did some snooping around, and found a really fun spider card at The Cutting Café.  Aha!  That would be fun, I thought to myself.  Is a spider a critter?  It is now!

I made a couple of them because they looked so good together.  They were, of course, cut with my Silhouette Cameo.  The cutting file for these cute spiders can be found HERE.
I hope you make your own critter project this month and enter in the challenge at Silhouette Challenges.  You have until Oct. 31.
Don't forget to check out the other inspiration from the design team.  But don't get spooked!

I'm entering these in the following challenges:

When I first read about this month's challenge, I knew immediately what I wanted to do.  I wanted to weld two shaped together to make a card.  I do this often with my Silhouette -- it's one of my favorite Silhouette techniques.  So, I went about finding the perfect shape to duplicate and weld.  I found this cute dog in the Silhouette Store that I thought would work perfectly:

I loaded the shape into the studio software, offset it, duplicated it in a mirror image, then welded the tails together.  I used Echo Park card stock on the  card.  I was so pleased with myself!  Then, I went back and read the challenge again.  "welding letters".  Geesh.  I sure do make a lot of work for myself sometimes!  So, I found a font I liked, typed 'woof', offset it, welded the offset letters together to make the word bubble, then cut the original letters out individually.  There.  Done!  And a pretty dog-gone cute dog shaped card, if I do say so myself.
Check out the other inspiration from the Silhouette Challenges DT, then do some welding of your own.  Save yourself some time and read the rules first! Thanks for visiting today!

I love shaped cards! I've been looking forward to this challenge since it was scheduled several months ago. There are so many fun shaped cards out there, the hardest part of this challenge was deciding which one to make! But, I did decide!

I used this file from the Silhouette online store. It's called the "Hailey Dress Card".  After I assembled the dress, I used a Unity Itty Bitty stamp, "Fabulous Girl."  The set has the adorable dress images and several sentiments.  I paper pieced the dresses.  I hope you like my shaped card!
Now, make your own shaped card and join us at Silhouette Challenges.  You have until August 31 to link up.

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:
Sister Act Card Challenge -- anything goes

Silhouette Challenges Ch#3: "Faux Stitching"

It's time for another challenge over at

A blog dedicated to the Silhouette Cutting Machines.
You MUST use a Silhouette somehow in your project.

Ch# 3 Faux Stitching
Begins: Monday, July 1
Ends: Wednesday, July 31
Sponsors this month are:

$10.00 Gift Certificate

digi pack (winner's choice)

And, for my project....This design team has been so good for me.  It has challenged me to do things I wouldn't have done if I wasn't on the team.  It is truly a challenge blog for me, too.  I had never used the faux stitching technique on my Silhouette, so YouTube rescued me -- again!  Here's what I created:

I used my Cameo to create the shaped card.  Then, I made a smaller, similar shaped print and cut panel and faux stitched around it with a double line of stitching.  The large front bicycle tire and basket is part of the print and cut paper.  I then used a Close To My Heart stamp set for the smaller bicycle and sentiment.  I painted the bicycle with Creative Inspirations paints to give them some shimmer.  A lipstick pink bow of 3 Girl JAM crinkle ribbon and some black bling from my stash completes the outside of the card.
Inside, I added another print and cut shape, more faux stitching, and the rest of the stamped sentiment:

There it is, my first ever faux stitching project. I know without a doubt it is not my last.  I'm loving this technique.  It adds so much to a card or layout.  Try it for yourself, then link up with us at Silhouette Challenges.  You have until July 31st.
