Monster Party! for Bugaboo Stamps

And the party goes on!At Bugaboo Stamps, we've been celebrating all week with a 9th Birthday celebration, and it's been a Monster Bash!  The fun is all happening at Catch the Bug Challenge Blog. Today's fun is a color challenge.

I'll show you my card first, featuring the Monsters 4 Block, then the color scheme I used:

I only used one of the 4 monsters in the Monster 4 Block digi set. I put the whole square image in my photo editing software and cropped out all but one image, saving it as a jpg, then it was just a matter of coloring it up with Copic markers and creating the card.

Here's the color photo I used for this card:

My photo turned out a bit dark because of the silver stars on my card.  Sorry about that!  Papers on this card are an old stack from My Mind's Eye. I computer generated the sentiment.

So, now it's your turn to join in the fun!  It's a color challenge, and seriously, it's hard to NOT find a color in that color photo.  Find a monster image at Bugaboo Stamps and join us.  There are TONS of prizes to be won this week.  If you need a monster image, check out the freebie from last Friday!

I'm Cute -- Stella Says Sketch at Bugaboo

The 9th birthday party continues at Bugaboo Stamps! Today, a Stella Says Sketch challenge is beginning, and the monster theme continues at Catch the Bug

I'll show you my card first, then the sketch Stella has us using.  The stamp I used is My Lil Monster Cute:

I colored My Lil Monster Cute with Copic markers and found an old paper stack from My Mind's Eye where the paper colors matched the monster. The sentiment is part of the My Lil Monster Cute set

Here's the sketch for today's challenge:

As you can see, I followed that sketch pretty darn closely.  No need to be too creative! I'll leave that up to you!

I hope you can join in on the 9th birthday celebration at Bugaboo Stamps.  You'll find all the fun all week long at Catch the Bug Challenges

Oh, Happy Day! For SheepSki Designs

There's a huge party happening in the Kit & Clowder Facebook Group.  Alyce has made it to 20,000 members.  Wow!  I've been a member for 4 years now and love the group.

Each day, a different company is helping with the celebration.  Today, it is SheepSki Designs chance to get in on the fun.   You have a chance to pick up the digi I used on this card -- for FREE!

This is Lolly Liz.  You'll find her in the Kit & Clowder Facebook Group.  Follow the rules and you can get her for yourself. You can also find her in the SheepSki Designs Facebook Group.

I colored Lolly Liz with Copic markers, then looked for some papers to match.  I found these in my stash.  I believe they are old My Mind's Eye papers, but I'm not entirely sure.  I used a cutting die from Sizzix to make the center step card.  There's some Timeless Twine and a sentiment stamp from Paper Wishes.

There's 20 days of freebies for the 20,000 member celebration at Kit & Clowder.  That's a lot of coloring fun!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Pinwheel Celebration -- for Simply Crafty SVGs

I'm posting today for Simply Crafty SVGs.  It's my last post for the design team -- at least for now.  I've greatly enjoyed being on Sandy's team, but I'm trying some new things for the next few months and it's hard to find time for it all.

Simply Crafty SVGs has some amazing files.  Today, I made a card using the A2 Frame Card Set 1:

There are SVG files for 4 cards that come in the A2 Frame Card Set 1.  This is just one of them.

I used plenty of red, white, and blue papers since this is on my blog on Independence Day.   The pinwheel and ribbon are not part of the A2 Frame Card Set 1.

I used my Silhouette Cameo 3 to cut out the card.  Papers have been in my stash forever.  I drag them out once a year and use a bit more of them.  One of these years, they'll be gone.  I think they are from My Mind's Eye, but I'm no longer sure.

I'm off to the Liberty Fest parade.  It's the biggest event we have in this small town I live in, next to Christmas.   It's going to be great!

29 again? Really? For QKR Stampede Challenge Blog

Friday, Friday, Friday!  I'm doing the Friday dance! (OK, at this stage in life, it's more of a shuffle, but my hips still move!)

Friday!  It's also time for a new challenge at QKR Stampede challenge blog, where challenges are always Anything Goes -- every. single. week!  Anything goes!!!

I need a lot of birthday cards early in July, so I created this for a friend's birthday coming up very shortly.  She's nowhere near the age of 29, AND she likes chickens,  so I hope she enjoys this:

The expression on this chicken's face just cracks me up!  Such a cackle!!  (oh, aren't I funny?!?)

I used QKR Stampede digital stamp Chubby Hen (Q-digi24230) to create this card.  I colored Chubby Hen with Copic markers, did a little computer generated printing for the sentiment, and finished the card with papers and embellishments from old papers in my stash (My Mind's Eye, I think?)

I had a great time making this birthday card, and I hope you join in on the fun this week at QKR Stampede Challenge Blog

Turtle-y Awesome -- Sasayaki Glitter Progressive Challenge

It's Thursday, and the weather here in NW Wisconsin has been turtle-y awesome this week!  It's also turtle nesting season, so my dog, Gracie, and I are helping the turtles safely across our road whenever we see them.  Slow down, cars!  Let me cross!

Speaking of turtles, this month's progressive challenge in the Sasayaki Glitter Facebook Group has a turtle-y awesome celebration image.  The image is a new release this month called Birthday Turtle.

Here, take a look:

I colored Birthday Turtle with Copic markers, then used a sketch from this week's The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch Challenge to put the card together.  The papers are some old, old, old My Mind's Eye.  Remember the Alphabet Soup collection?  The sentiment was computer generated.

That's it for me today.  Time to quit playing and get some work done!

Happy Birthday -- and New Release time at DigiStamps4Joy

It's New Release Sunday at DigiStamps4Joy.  There are some great new releases today (like always!)  I saw these guinea fowl, and decided they'd be perfect for a more masculine birthday card, and decided to color them up:

This digi stamp is called, "Guinea Fowl Trio". I colored them with Copic markers.

I used dies from Craftin' Desert Divas to cut out the Guinea Fowl Trio and the Happy Birthday (computer generated).  The papers are old, old, old!  I believe they are from My Mind's Eye.  The small baker's twine bow is made with twine from Timeless Twine.

I hope you enjoyed this New Release from DigiStamps4Joy, and you have time to check out the other wonderful new releases found here on the blog.  You'll find all the new releases (and an extensive collection of outstanding digis) for sale in the DigiStamps4Joy store.

There is a month-long challenge just getting started, with the optional theme of 'bright color's that I'm hosting.  Please join us.  You'll find that link here.  You'll find the DigiStamps4Joy Facebook Group here.

Born to Ride -- for The Cutting Cafe

Hello, crafty friends!  It's riding season!  We're celebrating road trip time at The Cutting Cafe.   You'll see all sorts of creations celebrating summertime and road trips this week!

Since my husband and I like to spend as much time on the Harley as possible, that's the theme I decided to go with:

I used the Cutting Cafe file "It's Road Trip Time" printable stamp set.  It also comes with a couple of sag files for the sign shaped cards, one of which I used here.

The motorcycle and sentiment are from Raisin Boat. They're going out of business and all the sets remaining are 60% off, so if you like this, shop quick!

The orange paper -- as close to Harley orange as I could find -- is some old My Mind's Eye paper I've had in my stash forever.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Check out all the great Road trip inspiration from other team members this week at our Cutting Cafe Be Inspired Facebook Group. Read The Cutting Cafe blog post to see the whole group.  Leave a comment for your chance to win 3 sets of your choice!

Simply Delightful Christmas -- for Great Impressions Stamps

It's Friday, and almost the weekend.  Yea! It's also my day to post at Great Impressions Stamps.  Yea again!  This week, Great Impressions Stamps is sponsoring the House of Cards Challenge Blog.
Here's the inspiration board for the challenge:

Using the board, I created this:

I used Great Impressions rubber stamps F620 - Joyful Harry and D453 - It's Christmas.  I colored F620 - Joyful Harry with Copic markers.  I stamped D453 - It's Christmas onto a premade Christmas tag from My Mind's Eye.

Designer papers for this card are from Imagine That! Digistamp.  The snowflake die behind the image is from Cheery Lynn designs.

A new challenge will start Sunday on the Great Impressions Challenge blog.  It's always Anything Goes, but there's a mood board for inspiration if you'd like to follow it.

Don't forget to check out the Great Impressions Online Store.  They have many wonderful Christmas stamps -- or stamps for ANY occasion!

So Super Sweet -- for Crafty Sentiment Designs

It's Tuesday, and time for a new challenge at Crafty Sentiments Designs.  I'm the hostess this week, and it's also the first day of this month's New Releases.

The whole team used today's new release - Dragon Charlie - Having a Snooze.  Here's my take on it:

I colored rubber stamp, Dragon Charlie - Taking a Nap, with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a paint brush.  I cut the rocking card shape out on my Silhouette Cameo with a file found in the Silhouette Design Store.  Papers are from My Mind's Eye. The sentiment is from Craftin' Desert Divas.

This week's challenge is Anything Goes.  I hope you can join us at Crafty Sentiments Designs!

Little Moments Matter a Whole Bunch -- for Path of Positivity

Hello, my crafty friends!  Happy Monday!  It's time for a bit of crafty inspiration on the Path of Positivity Challenge blog where we are 1/2 way through this month's challenge.  The theme this month is "Friendship".

I made this card using a pre-colored image from one of this month's guest sponsors, Sparkle N Sprinkle.

This is the Country Flowers digital stamp set.  Both the image and the sentiment are part of the kit.  I don't often use pre-colored images, but this one is so well done! Plus, the sentiment is perfect for our Friendship-themed challenge, don't you think?

Papers for this card are from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Everyday Flair paper pad.  The cross stitched oval dies are from Die-namics.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

I hope you join us this month is the Path of Positivity Friendship Challenge.  We have great prizes, and I'd love to see what you make!

Papers are from My Mind's Eye 6x6 Everyday Flair paper pad.  The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

Here's what I created for my mid-challenge inspiration:

I used Image #218 - Bella, which includes the awesome word bubble and sentiment on this tag.

I colored Image #218 - Bella, with Copic markers, then used a variety of dies by Hot Off the Press to cut out the tags.  Papers are by My Mind's Eye. The chipboard butterflies are from UmWow Studio.  The fibers are by Close To My Heart.

Happy Birthday with Butterflies & Bows -- for Crafty Sentiments

It's Tuesday, and that means there's a new challenge starting at the Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog.  The theme this week is "Use a Die".  I have lots of dies in my crafty collection, so I had great fun with this one!

I used the rubber stamp, Isobel Thinking of Spring to create this:

I colored Isobel - Thinking of Spring with Copic markers, then used an oval die to cut her out.  The card base was made using a Spellbinders label die.  The "Happy birthday" sentiment was cut out with another die from the same label set.  The butterfly is a die from Paper Wishes.  I cut the sun out on my Silhouette Cameo using a sun file found in the Silhouette Design Store.  Designer papers on this card are from My Mind's Eye. The crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

I hope you can join us this week at Crafty Sentiments Designs for our "Use a Die" Challenge.  I'd love to see what you make, and we've got great prizes for you to win!

With Sympathy - for Great Impressions Stamps

Today is my day to post on the Great Impressions Stamps blog -- always a great pleasure for me!  I LOVE their stamps!

I needed a sympathy card awhile back, and I wanted it to be beautiful.  I naturally reached for my Great Impressions Stamps to create it...

The Butterfly Frame (H226) and the With Sympathy (B206) seemed like a perfect combination.  I stamped the H226- Butterfly Frame onto Carta Bella Kraft card stock, then colored it with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils.  I then fussy cut the frame.

6x6 papers are by My Mind's Eye - Hello, Gorgeous.  Lace/gem trim is from Prima Marketing.

Did you join in the Great Impressions Stamps Anything Goes challenge this month?  There's another one starting very soon!

Don't forget to shop in the Great Impressions Stamps store to find more elegant stamps like those used in today's card.

Flowers of Summer -- for Great Impressions Stamps

Happy Saturday!  I am posting today on the Great Impressions Stamps blog -- one of my favorite places to hang out on a Saturday! I hope you are enjoying the last days of spring.  Here in NW Wisconsin where I live, we are just beginning to get some summer heat in our days.  We've barely made it into the 70's and have yet to break 80.  But, the heat and humidity are coming -- they always do!

I love many things about summer.  One of my favorite things is the flowers.  I love the bright colors and the endless varieties.

For today's card, I got out my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a water brush to create a watercolor effect.  Here's how it turned out:

I used 2 Great Impressions rubber stamps on this card, J09 - Garden Flowers, and C366 - Hello Summer.   J09 - Garden Flowers was stamped on a piece of watercolor paper.

The die used to cut out the watercolored panel is from Top Dog dies.  The banner shaped die cut is from Craftin' Desert Divas.  The oval shaped stitched die (with sentiment) is from Die-namics.  Papers for this card are old My Mind's Eye.

I used this month's challenge picture at Great Impressions Stamps for inspiration for this card.

The challenge runs all month, and it's anything goes, so I hope you join us!

Don't forget about all the other wonderful stamps in the Great Impressions Store.  You'll want to check them out!

A Bit Chilly -- for Crafty Sentiments Designs

It's time for a new challenge at the Crafty Sentiments Challenge Blog.   Back by popular demand, our theme this week is, "Anything Goes!"

We get a lot of rain where I live in April and May, so I thought this adorable rubber stamp by Crafty Sentiments Designs would be perfect!  This is 'A Bit Chilly'.

I colored 'A bit Chilly' with Copic markers, matching her to the My Mind's Eye designer papers on the card base.

The crinkle ribbon is from D.L. Art's Etsy Shop.  This is from the Valentine bundle.

The stitched dies are from Die-namics.  The umbrella die is from Echo Park (I think).

I hope you can join us this week for our Anything Goes Challenge at Crafty Sentiments Challenge blog.  I'd love to see what you make!

Sweet Friend - for Coloring Without Boundaries

I'm posting today for Coloring Without Boundaries, using a Lacy Sunshine image, from the incredibly talented Heather Valentin.  Hang tight, it comes with a tutorial, so it's quite picture heavy.

First, the finished project, using Woodland Wisp 'Wispy':

I colored Woodland Wisp "Wispy" with Copic markers, and here is how I did it.

First, skin and hair.  I wanted her skin to be very fair, since I was making her a redhead.
Skin tone colors used were: E000, E00, E21, E34, R20, lips R21, R22
Hair -- YR14, YR27, E99

I used my favorite yellow combination on the flower.  Here's a step-by-step of the flower:

Y11 -- I start with the lightest color to saturate the area.

E18 -- then, I switch to the darkest color, using just a bit for shading.

E15 -- I add in the next darkest color, adding more shading.

Y17 -- here comes the darkest yellow shade.  I use quite a bit of this.

Y15 -- Here's the final hello, the midtone. I colored the middle of the flower in this step, too.

Now, it's time to go over the whole flower again with Y11, blending it all thoroughly.   Flower completed, and several more flowers on her shoulders are colored also.

All that's left is her dress, hair ribbons, and the ground she is standing on...

Flower stem -- G20, G21, G24, G28
Dress ruffle -- G20, G21, G82, G94, G99
Dress & Hair ribbons -- B12, B24, B28, B29, B99
Scarf -- R22, R24, R27, R29, R39, R59
Grass -- YG03, YG11, YG13, YG17
Flowers in grass -- YR12, YR14

Here she is, made into a card:

Papers are from My Mind's Eye, oval die is from Die-namics.  SVG cutting file for the card is from Pretty Paper Pretty Ribbons, crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

Follow the Coloring Without Boundaries blog each day for fantastic tips and tutorials.  Enter the challenge, too! You'll find more inspiration and fun in the Coloring Without Boundaries Facebook Group.

Make Your Mark -- for The East Wind

It's Tuesday, so that means it's New Release day at The East Wind.    Today's new release is Lucy Loo 'Drawing'.  She was so much fun!

I colored Lucy Loo 'Drawing'  with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company/Donna Downey.

I used papers from My Mind's Eye -- the Market Street Nob Hill  12x12 Collection. The circle dies are from Craftin' Desert Divas.  The glitter trim is from Close To My Heart, as is the card base.

For more inspiration, and to see what other design team members did with this fantastic new release, join our The East Wind Facebook Group.  Please follow me on Instagram, too.
