Fabulous Friend -- for MHKDesigns April Challenge

Happy Easter, crafty friends!  I hope you have a most blessed Easter holiday.  I am busy tinkling the ivories today, playing 2 church services at one church in town, and one at another church.  Then, we're heading to my husband's family for an Easter feast, in a town about an hour from where we live.  I just might nap on the way after my busy Easter morning!

Today is April 1,  so that means it's time for a new challenge at MHKDesigns challenge blog.  The challenges run all month.  They are Anything Goes if you use an MHKDesigns image, or there is an inspiration picture/mood board if you choose to use an image of your choice.

Today, there is also a new release at MHKDesigns.  It is Caring Crocus.  I used the Caring Crocus as part of my card for the challenge:

Besides the Caring Crocus image (colored with Copic markers, then inked around the edges with distress inks), I used several other MHKDesigns stamp sets on this card.  The chicken wire background is from the Chicken In digital stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Fabulous Flowers digital stamp set, and the gingham paper, also from MHKDesigns, is from the Going Gingham Pastels digital paper pack.

It's March, and it's time for a new challenge at MHKDesigns Challenge blog.  The challenge is Anything Goes, if you use an MHKDesigns image.  Yeehaw!  Today is also New Release day for Blessed Lily, and I used it on this month's challenge card:

You Rock!  You really do!  I'm so glad you stopped by for a visit!  And, it's a new month.  So, it's time for a new challenge at MHKDesigns Challenge blog, where the challenges are Anything Goes if you use an MHKDesigns image (and there are SO many awesome ones!!!)  Plus, if you win, you get EVEN more!!!  Woohoo!  There's an inspiration picture if you don't use an MHKDesigns image, and it's awesome, too.  I took some colors out of the picture for this card:

I wanted something a little out of the ordinary for my hubby's Valentine's Day card (please don't tell him you saw it before he did), and I thought this would work great.  He loves geography and all this travel, so the globe from the Rock My World stamp set, the World Traveler Digital papers, and the awesome sentiment (also from Rock My World made this card easy to create.

New Year's Advice - and a New Release -- for MHKDesigns

Happy New Year, crafty friends!  I'm hoping for a healthy, happy 2018!  My goal is cancer free all the way through, for many years to come.

Today starts a new challenge on the MHKDesigns blog, and it's also New Release day.  This month's set is Framed Favorites.  I loved the pansy frame and this quote from the Framed favorites Digital Stamp Set.  I thought it was some good New Year's advice for us all:

Great quote, right?  I printed the Framed Favorites pansies and quote on Kraft paper, then colored the pansies with Spectrum Noir Aqua Blend pencilsS, using a Close To My Heart clear shimmer brush to blend the colors.  In real life, there's lots of sparkle and shine on the pansies.   Papers used on the border of the card are also from MHKDesigns.  They are part of the Get Well Flowers digital paper pack (one of my personal favorites!).  The borders are dies from Spellbinders, with a little glimmer trim from CTMH.

Deck the Halls -- for the MHKDesigns Nov. Challenge

November 1st, and I'm already making plans to "Deck the Halls."  It's also the start of a new challenge at MHKDesigns.   The challenge is Anything Goes, if you use an MHKDesigns image, or these is a mood/picture board if you choose to use something else.  But, with the many awesome MHKDesign images, why not go with the Anything Goes option?

Here's my card for this month's MHKDesign's challenge:

I used an image and sentiment from the Deck the Halls digital stamp set.  The stocking is colored with Copic markers, then fussy cut.  The card base and layers were created with a shape I found in the Silhouette Design Store.  The base was duplicated and welded.  Papers on this card, also from MHKDesigns, are the Deck the Halls Digital Papers.  The crinkle ribbon and rhinestones are from my stash.

Happy Haunting! for MHKDesigns October Challenge

October 1st!  The month of witches and ghosts and all things spooky!  It's time for a new challenge at MHKDesigns, and I wanted to feature an adorable witch and some super fun papers, all from MHKDesigns.  I made a home decor project, and use the 'Anything Goes' option at MHKDesigns (as long as you use an MHKDesigns image, it's always anything goes!!), and created this for the challenge:

This adorable witch silhouette is MHKDesigns Flight By Night.  I printed it on white card stock and inked the moon with several shades of Tim Holtz Distress inks, then fussy cut her out.   I found some old embroidery hoops, and wanted to mount my project on one of them.  I printed two papers from the MHKDesigns Trick or Treat patterned paper pack, and secured them on the hoop.  After adding some baker's twine, the home decor project was ready for Halloween!

I have some pretty mums blooming in my yard, and they were the inspiration for this card, along with the colors from this month's inspiration board:

I used the Mum's the Word Digital stamp set, and colored the flower image from that with Faber-Castell color pencils.  The sentiment is from the Marvelous Digital Stamp set.  The designer papers on this card are from MHKDesigns.  They are:

It's August 1 (where has the summer gone?) and it's time for a new challenge at MHKDesigns.  Challenges run for a month, and if you use an MHKDesigns image, it's Anything Goes.  There's an inspiration board if you'd like to use it, or if you don't use an MHKDesigns image.

I made a tag for this month's challenge, using the colors of August's inspiration board:

I used the MHKDesigns digital stamp set, Beauty, on this tag. I colored the daisy image with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils.  The sentiment is also from the Beauty stamp set.

What a Wonderful World! -- for MHKDesigns Challenge

It's July 1st, so that means it's time for a new challenge on the MHKDesigns blog.  The challenge runs for a month, and it's Anything Goes, if you use an MHKDesigns image.  There's an inspiration picture if you don't use an MHKDesigns image.  I'll post it at the bottom.

This card, made for the MHKDesigns challenge, uses Beginnings & Endings (the apple and twig), Beautiful Bottles (sentiment), and Country Farm papers, all found in the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop. 

The apple and twig were colored with Copic markers.  The border on the side was cut with a die from Anna Griffin. Circle dies are by Lifestyle Crafts.

Happy Bird Day! for MHKDesigns June Challenge

My mother-in-law celebrated her birthday yesterday.  She loves birds.  She's one of those fanatics that travels the world to add birds to her life list.  So, I made this card for her birthday, and for the new challenge that starts today at MHKDesigns. 

This card uses several sets found in the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop: 
Sea Creatures Digital Stamp Set  and Serene Seaside Patterned Digital Papers.

I colored the bird from the Sea Creatures set with Caran D'ache Neocolor II artist's crayons and a paint brush.

May 1, May day, and the start of my favorite month of the year.  It's also the start of a new challenge at MHKDesigns.  Our challenges are Anything Goes if you use an MHKDesigns product.  If not, there is an inspiration board for you to follow.  

Since I can always use another birthday card to add to the stash, I used the May inspiration board to create this:

I made this shaker card using the MHKDesigns Eat Your Cake digital stamp set.  I used watercolor pencils on the cake.  The designer papers, also from MHKDesigns, are Rosy Posy digital papers.
