Best Friends are for Life!

It's Friday, and time for a bit of inspiration at the Polkadoodle's Challenge blog. This begins the second week of the "Add Sparkle, bling, or Glitter" challenge.

I used the adorable Work & Play 9 -- Love & Kisses Collection this week, creating an anniversary card for my husband.  I didn't want too much bling or glitter, so I used some glitter paper to back the image.

I colored the happy couple with Copic markers, then used Spellbinders dies to cut out and layer up the image and sentiment.  I also used my handy dandy We R Memory Keepers Scallop Corner Chomper.

Join us for our Sparkle, Bling, and Glitter challenge, going on for another week at Polkadoodles Challenge Blog.

This is Clarissa (#80), and she's colored with Copic markers.  I found the card design in the Silhouette Design store and used my Silhouette to cut it out.  Papers are all from Close To My Heart.  The Halloween stickers are from Paper Wishes.

Happy Thursday, my crafty friends!  It's time for a new challenge at the Julia Spiri Challenge Blog.   The new theme is  "Something Old" -- find something from your stash that you've had awhile, and use it!

This is Julia Spiri's digi, 'Picking Mushrooms'.    She's colored with Copic markers, then cut out with a couple sizes of a Spellbinders die (old).  The designer papers on this card, Acorn Hollow, from Little Yellow Bicycle, are at least a year old.  I used ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon -- purchased last fall, and finished it off with a We R Memory Keepers scalloped corner chomper (a few years old).

The Something Old challenge will run for 2 weeks.  I hope you'll join us at Julia Spiri's Challenge blog!

Special Wishes for Someone Special

It's Tuesday, and Digi Choosday!   Hurry to the blog, check all the wonderful inspiration, grab the discount code, and SHOP at the Polka Doodle's store!  Go, go, go!  Today also starts a new challenge.  The theme for the next 2 weeks is "Favorite Color Combination".

I went 3 ways with this theme, using my favorite Copic combinations, using pink and blue on my card -- a favorite of mine, and using this person and dog stamp -- a great, colorful combination!

The stamp and papers are part of a mini collection called "Kath Walking the Dog Digital Craft Download".  The sentiment is from the Winston Deluxe Paper Crafting collection.  I distressed the edges of all the papers to give it more of a rugged, outdoorsy look.

My favorite pink Copic combination is R81, R83, R85, and R89, used here.  My favorite blue jeans blend is B41, B95, B97.  Her hair, another favorite, is Y21, YR21, and YR24.  Kath's skin is my favorite blend:  E000, E00, E11, E21, and E04, with a bit of R20 on the cheeks. The Golden Retriever is colored with shades of E30, E31, E34, and E35. Her shoes are G12, G14, G17.

The tie-dye crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.

Digi Choosday's 2-year birthday party is still going on.  Link up your celebration projects for another week, then join us for our "favorite color combination" challenge.  I'd love to see what you make!

It's Not Easy Being a Princess -- for Lacy Sunshine

It's time for a new challenge at Lacy Sunshine Challenge Blog.   For the next two weeks, our theme is "Once Upon a Dream" (Fairy Tales).  If you used a Lacy Sunshine image in the last challenge, you'll get a free one in this challenge.  Otherwise, there's lots of great images in the Lacy Sunshine store that fit this challenge very well!

Every young girl wants to be a princess, right?  When I was young, I loved fairy tales about princesses.  So, for this challenge, my card has a princess image and sentiment....

This is Lacy Sunshine digi "Fairy Godmother Sugi".  I colored her with Copic markers.  A princess should be dresses in shades of pink, yes? And purple is for royalty, right?

Fairy Godmother Sugi is mounted on a center step card.  I used 2 sizes of a Spellbinder label die to cut out and back the image.  The glitter chevron paper is from Doodlebug Designs.  All other paper is from Close To My Heart.   The sentiment is computer generated. The ribbon is from my stash.  There's also 2 shades of Wink of Stella pens to add more sparkle to the image.

Join us this next 2 weeks for our "Once Upon a Time" challenge at Lacy Sunshine Challenge blog.  Join us on Facebook! There's always great conversations, inspiration, fun, and coupon codes in at the Lacy Sunshine Color and Craft Group

Boo? - a Gift Bag

I'm posting today for 3 Girl JAM, using a Lacy Sunshine image.  Two of my favorite things on the same project!

Halloween is soon upon, and I like to give little treats to my many friends in the nursing home.  This treat bag will be perfect for that!

I used one of my favorite year-round 3 Girl JAM ribbons on this bag.  It's Goblin Green ribbon from the Spooky Bundle.  I use the Witch's Brew and Goblin Green ribbon colors ALL the time.  Love them!

The Goblin Green ribbon matches the hair of Kenna - Wicked Witch from Lacy Sunshine.  Nice, huh?  Kenna is colored with Copic markers.

The treat bag and papers for this project are from Close To My Heart.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.

If you need some of this great ribbon for yourself, use discount code JO10 for 10% off of anything in the 3 Girl JAM Store

I used Crafty Sentiments Designs rubber stamp, Isobel - Ballerina, and colored her with Copic markers, in various shades of pink.   The designer paper was from my stash.  I used a center step card shape, and 2 sizes of a Spellbinders die to frame the image.  The sentiment is from Craftin' Desert Divas.

Fantastic Birthday Wishes -- for Digi Choosday

Hurray! It's Tuesday! That means it's time for a new challenge at Digi Choosday.  This fortnight's challenge is extra special.  Today marks the 2-year birthday of Digi Choosday.  Let's have a part-ay!  And, that's our theme for this challenge:  Birthday Celebrations.  It so happens we're celebrating both my husband and his sister's birthdays this weekend, so this card is for her:

Everything I used here is from the Winston Deluxe Papercrafting CD Collection or Winston Deluxe Papercrafting Download.  The image is Winston Bear Birthday, and he is just so sweet, with his fancy decorated birthday cake! Papers, Kraft papers, sentiment tag -- their all from the Winston Deluxe Collection.  There's tons of stuff on this, so let's celebrate!

You have 2 weeks to enter your birthday celebration make with us at Digi Choosday. The "Feeling Sentimental" goes on for one more week. Come show it off in the Digi Choosday group on Facebook, too.

Warmest Winter Wishes -- for Path of Positivity

It's time for some mid-month inspiration on the Path of Positivity  challenge blog, where our theme this month is resiliency.

One of our sponsors for this month's challenge is Ike's Art. Thanks. Ike!  I had a great time shading this Winter Robin!

I colored Winter Robin with Copic markers, then cut it out with a Lawn Fawn die.

Papers, sentiment, and shimmer tape for the card are from Close To My Heart. Dies used are from Lawn Fawn and Lifestyle Crafts.

Birds that winter over in cold climates are some of the most resilient creatures I can think of.  How can something that weighs mere ounces or grams survive when the temperature dips well below zero?  I'm always fascinated by that!  This winter robin gets my vote for "most resilient".

I hope you find time to join us this month for our Resiliency challenge at Path of Positivity.  You have until Nov. 1 to enter!

Don't Sweat It!

Yesterday was my husband's birthday.  I thought long and hard about the card to make him, and this was the end result:

My husband, at 57, looks much more svelte than this man, but he does lift weights, so that was the inspiration behind this card.  The digi, from Make It Crafty,  is called 'Brian Lifting Weights'.  I colored it with Copic markers, using bright colors for the MIC bright challenge, and because birthday cards need to be bright and cheerful!

I used several sizes of a Spellbinders die on this.  Papers and studs are from Close To My Heart.  Sentiments are computer generated.

Here's to another great year, sweetheart!

Shaking Fall Greetings Your Way -- for The Cutting Cafe

I love shaker cards!  I think they are fun to make and even more fun to receive, so when the assignment this week at The Cutting Cafe was to make a fall or Halloween shaker card, I just knew it would be F-U-N!

This is the Pumpkin Shaker card.  It can be purchased separately, or as part of the Autumn and Halloween shaker card set.  Get the set -- they are ALL fantastic!

I used papers from the Close To My Heart Sangria paper pack.  I was looking for lush, Fall colors.  The orange sequins are from Bella Creationz.  The tie dye crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM

The adorable hedgehog, colored with Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor pencils, is a digi stamp from Gerda Steiner Designs.

Check out the Cutting Cafe's blog on October 21 to see what the rest of this Uber talented design team makes this time.  Leave a comment on the blog, and you can win 3 sets of your choice.  Pick this one!

Christmas & Friends - for the 12 Months of Christmas

Can it really be the middle of the month already?  Do I say this every month?  Well, it's October 15th today, so it's time for some mid-month inspiration at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  Our optional theme this month is "Time for Giving - card for a child".  Our sponsors this month is Imagine That! Digis by Kris and Lisa Decosse of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

I used a pre-colored digi from the set called Mice Skate, and the sentiment is also from the set. The sentiment says, "Having you for a friend is like Christmas every day of the year!"  Love that!   The peppermint designer paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.  The card base and layers were all created with Spellbinders dies.  There's a little Timeless Twine and some sequins from Close To My Heart on here to finish off the card.

Come join us at the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.  Christmas is getting ever closer -- it's time to get serious about the homemade Christmas cards!

Seriously? A Big Day for Oddball Art and Whimsy Stamps

It's a big day! Oddball Art Company has a few new releases at Whimsy Stamps today.  I got the privilege to be able to work with one of the very fun new stamps! This is part of the Lizzy Love Collection
This is Alex and her Happy Tacky Christmas Sweater, found at Whimsy Stamps. I colored Alex with Copic markers.   I'm not so sure she likes that tacky Christmas sweater she's wearing, but she sure does look cute!

The base of the card was created with various washi tapes.  I used a Craftin' Desert Diva's die, cut several times, to back the Alex rubber stamp with. There's some UmWow Studio chipboard, decorated with Stickles, on this card, too.

Check out the rest of the new Lizzy Love Collection New Releases at Whimsy Stamps here.  Then, check out the other creations by the design team on the Oddball Art Company Blog.  And, of course, there's tons of fun and wonderful projects to be found at the Oddball Art Stamps Facebook Group.

I used the Welcome Fall Printable set from The Cutting Cafe. Once my focal point was created, I used double sided tape and layered the 3 Girl JAM ribbons around the sentiment.  I used ribbons from the Rustic Country Bundle and the Harvest Bundle.

The background paper is from Pixel Scrapper.  The card base is from Close To My Heart

Life and Dancing -- for Path of Positivity

It's a new month, a new challenge, and there's a brand new theme at the Path of Positivity Challenge blog.   This month, the theme is Resiliency.  One of our sponsors is The Stamping Boutique.  I used a spring flower to illustrate Resiliency:

I used the Stamping Boutique digi, Daffodil to create this card.  I colored the Daffodil with Copic markers, then cut it out with a die from Paper Wishes.  The sentiment seemed to fit the Resiliency theme very well.

Papers for this card are all from Close To My Heart.  The ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  The butterfly die is from Paper Wishes.  Pearls are from my stash.

Few things are as resilient as spring flowers in Northwest Wisconsin, where I live.  Daffodils are among the hardiest.  They often bloom, then get snowed on and frozen repeatedly, but somehow they survive and remind us all that warm weather is coming.   I realize this is a strange time of year to be showcasing a daffodil, but it is certainly resilient.

Join us this month at Path of Positivity for our Resiliency-themed challenge.  I'd love to see how you interpret it!

Joy To All -- for Not Just Cards, and a winner!

It's the first Monday of the month, which means there's a new challenge starting today at Not Just Cards Challenge blog.  The challenge is always Anything Goes, and it runs all month!

One of our sponsors this month is Ike's Art
I used one of her fantastic images and created this Christmas card.

This digi image is called Robins.  I colored Robins with Copic markers, then used some Stickles on the snow and berries.

I used several sizes of a Spellbinders label die to make the card.  All papers and sentiment are from Close To My Heart

Last month, Not Just Cards had a blog hop to celebrate our 1st birthday.  Each team member used a sponsor's image and that image will be given away to one lucky recipient that participated in the hop.  I used a digi, Little Friends from Crafty Sentiments

Using Random.org, #20 was chosen.  That is Julye.  Congratulations!  Please leave your email address in a comment and I'll send you your prize.   You have one week to collect.

Thanks to everyone who hopped with us last month.  Join our Anything Goes challenge this month and every month at Not Just Cards.

You've Got Style -- for DigiStamps4Joy

It's New Release Sunday at DigiStamps4Joy.

Today, the team is working with the new digi, called "Hat"

I colored "Hat" with Copic markers, then cut it out with a Lifestyles Crafts circle die.  Papers (and tag) are from Heartfelt Creations.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company.  The tie dye crinkle ribbon is from 3 Girl JAM.  Some Timeless Twine finishes it off.

Check out the rest of the creations with "Hat" on the DigiStamps4Joy blog.  You'll be inspired!

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:
TTCRD -- ATG
D.L. Art -- Oct. linky party
613 Ave -- ATG
