A Blizzard of Thanks

It's Friday, the day after Christmas, and I'm playing along with Unity's Friends with Flair.
I am always amazed at the talent every. single. Friday.  I've missed a few, but love to cruise the blogs on the weekend to see the inspiration.  I wanted to end the year with one last Unity card.  Here it is:

I needed 10 thank you cards, and I needed them quick.  I came up with a simple design that I could replicate easily.  The stamp set is "Like a Snowflake" (December, 2014 Sentiment Kit).
The label is cut out on my Cricut, using the Art Philosophy cartridge from Close To My Heart. The card stock and rhinestone bling are also from CTMH.
I hope everyone had a great Christmas!  This was the first one without my father, so there were some moments that were difficult, but there were some very lovely, tender moments also.
Happy New Year to all my Unity Peeps!

Tags, Tags, Tags -- Guest Designing for BMCCS

It's Saturday!  I hope you all survived Black Friday yesterday.  I stayed out of the stores and did some crafting instead.  I don't like crowds!
I have the privilege of guest designing again this month for Blue Moon Creation Crafting Station.  I used 4 different digis to make these Christmas tags:

These digis are available for Crafting Station Club members.  You can try the membership for the first 2 months for only 99 cents!

I used Copic markers on each of these tags.  I cut the tags out on my Cricut, using the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge.

Four tags, ready to go for Christmas!  Enjoy!
Thanks to Beth and Thia for BMCCS for the opportunity to guest design today.

Too Cute To Spook -- For Joy's Life

I know it's only  September, but I've been working on some Halloween things already.  I wish I could get going on Christmas! Maybe soon, LOL!
This week, the Joy's Life design team is sharing scrapbooking ideas.  It's been a few months since I've found time to make a layout, so I enjoyed this assignment very much!
Golden Retrievers are wonderfully docile dogs, and my Sophie is no exception.  I dressed her up until she felt silly and went on a Halloween photo shoot for this layout.  What do you think? Is she too cute to spook?

Joy's Life "Halloween Puns" stamp set was used throughout this layout.

You can find it, and all Joy's wonderful stamps in her STORE.
I used Fancy Pants Halloween papers on the layout, and a Fancy Pants acrylic spider web overlay.  The Close To My Heart Artbooking cartridge was used to cut the picture frames and bats.  The arrows and fancy rectangle shape are from the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge. I also used some chipboard arrows from Umwow Studio on this layout.
I hope you enjoyed my Silly Sophie and her Spooky Halloween outfit.  She's ready for the holiday.  Are you?

Let's Celebrate!

Happy Friday!  I hope all you USA followers had a great Independence Day yesterday and a happy belated Canada Day to my northern friends.

Today, I'm starting a celebration, and I've got lots of reasons to celebrate!  It's Friday, I'm part of the fantastic 3 Girl JAM design team and we're starting a new shaped card challenge today, with inspiration on the challenge blog, it's Friends With Flair, my father, suffering from pneumonia and blood clots in his lungs is improving rapidly, AND tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY!  See? Lots of reasons to celebrate!

I absolutely LOVE shaped cards.  They are one of my favorite things to create, and are so easy to do with either a Cricut or a Silhouette.  For this particular card, I used my Cricut Expression 2 to create it.

And, of course, it uses 3 Girl JAM ribbon.  This is Baby Girl ribbon from the Baby Bundle, found in the 3 Girl JAM store.

I tell crafters that if they only want to own one Cricut cartridge, buy the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy cartridge, available here. It is my all-time favorite cartridge.  I used it to make the card, the card front, and the flower on this project.  The ribbon slide is a Spellbinder die. I used one of my all-time favorite Unity sets to stamp the sentiment, "Happy Everything". Papers are Authentique Delightful 12x12. The chipboard butterfly is from UmWow Studio.  Some Trendy Twine and a CTMH pearl finish off the card.  All the edges were inked with CTMH whisper ink.

Do you like making shaped cards, too?  Then link up on the 3 Girl JAM challenge blog.  Our own Carri, from Double Click Connections is sponsoring the challenge, giving away 3 packages of her fabulous homemade skittles. There's also a $10 Gift Certificate to the 3 Girl JAM store AND a guest designer spot.  YEAH! See, the celebration goes on and ON!

Unity Friends With Flair blog hop

It's Friday again, and here's this week's post.  The Unity stamps aren't immediately apparent, but they are there.  I cut this card out on my Cricut, cut out a flower with several layers, then stamped each layer with various Unity stamps.  I used my new SMAK kit, and a Bitty Backgrounds set to add some texture to the petals.  I then bent the petals to make them look a little more realistic, inked the edges, sprayed them with Studio Calico Mister Huey gold, and assembled them using a hot glue gun.
I also have a close up of the flower so you can see the Unity stamps I used a little better. You can see the various layers of the flower and the gold Mister Huey shimmer shows a little.
Sammy, being my assistant, felt that the card wasn't arranged quite right.  He wasn't pleased with the lighting, so he made some adjustments.  Here he is, earning his assistant status. Good boy!

Two Unity Challenges, One Card -- I'm Getting Good!

There's 2 challenges I want to enter on the Unity blog -- their window/door challenge, and the Ippity Flower challenge.  Because time is always a factor, I made one card to fit both challenges.  I used the Close To My Heart Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut out the window card, then cut a layered square to surround the window.  I used the July Unity stamp kit for the flower inside the window, and used Smooch ink (love my Smooches) to color the flower.  The button was from my stash.  The paper is Lucy -- from Close to my Heart.

Boys & Their Toys layout

I have today off from work and found a little time to play in my happy scrappy space.  I made this layout for a challenge on the CropChocolate.com site.  This week's challenge was to scrap your man using something that is transparent, clear, or glossy.  I chose to use some liquid glass on the star shaped brads to make them glossier (I'm sure that's a word!) and the letters I used have a very glossy finish to them.  The paper is from the Echo Park Little Boy collection.  I cut the stars out on the Cricut, using the Art Philosophy cartridge.  I love the joy on Shaun's face in this picture.
