Hello, and happy Friday, my crafty friends. We're in a rainy stretch of weather here, but the flowers are beginning to poke through and signs of spring are everywhere! I was feeling happy when I made this card, using Unity stamps:
I spent some time last week with 3 of my best friends, up north. It rained every day. And, snowed 4 inches one of the days. The day the weather was the worst, I spent some time coloring some stamped images I had brought along with Copic markers. This is one of those images. The stamp I used is "Spring & Bloom" -- an Itty Bitty. I didn't think I had any paper to match (really? with the million pieces of paper I have, I should be able to match anything!) but I hunted and hunted, and found some really old papers that I had forgotten I had. Please don't tell my husband. I tell him I know where everything is in my scrap room! And, usually I do. Maybe it's an aging thing? Not a too much paper thing?
I used a couple Spellbinders dies, some Stickles in the center of the flowers, and some bling from my stash on this card to finish it off.
Make sure you check out the great inspiration with the other Friends With Flair link ups. This group is incredibly talented! And, have a great weekend!
Your happiness shows in this pretty card, Julie. I guess we have to take the rain if we are to have a spring. If it continues to rain…go pick up some paper! Happy Friday my deary!
ReplyDeleteLove the gorgeous vibrant flowers! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty, Julie! I love the colors! It's raining like crazy here too. I went down to Tennessee last weekend and it's so gorgeous with the azaleas, tulips and all the other spring flowers blooming. Spring will get up to you soon :-)
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Julie. Those colors are perfect! Love the blue against the purple.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Julie! I actually thought that you had made those papers as pretty as they are! Hugs~Patti
ReplyDeleteVery pretty coloring! Spring sure is late to arrive but with all this rain things are sure to bloom soon!
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous! Great coloring! I don't think I've seen that Itty Bitty but it is a super cute one! Love the colors you've put together!
ReplyDeletePretty chilly here, too. We are done with corn and have some beans in so hope it warms up soon. Happy to get about an inch of rain over the last week, we are still really dry here. My forsythia is getting ready to bloom and the rhododendrons are starting to open so there is a little color!
Beautiful card. Love the colours. Finally Spring. TFS
ReplyDeletelove the colours :)
ReplyDeleteVery cheery Spring card!
ReplyDeleteNice coloring, love spring pansies and even have a few blooming outside in the rain. Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card! Love how you colored them exactly like African violets come! I totally know what you mean about hunting for the elusive "perfect" paper! Hope the weather is good this weekend for you! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty blooming design Julie. Wonderful work. :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Julie. Sometimes finding the right papers is the hardest part for me. I guess you could call me more a paper collector than a paper user. Ha ha. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty! Love the way you coloured the blooms. Isn't it amazing how we can all have so many supplies but so often just not the right one? Glad you found the perfect papers. ;)
ReplyDeleteYikes! Julie, is the up North you're referring to, the North Pole? No wonder you used this pretty stamp, sounds like you really needed some happy Spring colours. I love all the purple, I just planted purple pansies today, so this card is working for me! ( I can't believe a former CC'er could possibly have too much paper. Ridiculous!! )
ReplyDeleteMs Julie, there is no such thing as too much paper!! Your creation is beautiful, love the colors and the paper :o)
ReplyDeleteLove those happy, bright flowers!!
ReplyDeleteso pretty! what a great way to spend a rainy vacation... coloring! love your card. husbands never have to know the truth about our stashes.
